@@sondrel2same here as We’ve got the Acer Predator Helios 16 with i7-13700hx and 140 watt Rtx 4070 with the 240fps gsync panel and it’s an insanely powerful system especially when using turbo mode plugged in with additional MSI afterburner OC on top of Turbo Mode as it’s destroying modern triple a games even on max settings including Ray tracing…….
I usually game at 2560x1600 using dlss performance and the frame gen is also quite impressive and adds a nice performance boost…..

@@pho3nix- yea you can set all the rgb lights to automatically turn off after 30 seconds and can do all sorts of lighting tweaks with the Predator Sense App

Which one would you suggest to buy ?
I'm looking to keep this laptop as long as 8 years minimum.
i would compare scar 16 (if it truly has the mini-led screen, there are reports sometimes they are not) and predator helios 16 also with mini-led. legion 7 has an ips panel, which automatically disqualifies it for me from the competition... helios only supports 32 ram whereas scar up to 64, which is important if you are a 3d designer or running heavy software.. in terms of prices, the helios is sometimes 1000 euros cheaper than scar, so this is a big incentive too.. i would look what you need it for.. if its just gaming and light productivity with a charger, i'd go for helios, if you are into content creation, I would consider scar..

@@himanshumodak5273 legion has always been legit with cooling from what I know and there are many positive reviews of this year's scar. with scar there are reports of coil whine, sometimes it disappears, sometimes it does not.. i suggest also looking into what warranty they gonna give you and for how long.. i must say lenovo has excellent keyboards, love them, buts its subjective.. Another thing, if you gonna get an IPS panel with Scar (they offer this option on the cheaper models), its quite dim (300 nits). Legion doesnt offer the mini-LED option, but its IPS panel is much brighter, around 500 nits. you will appreciate this if you happen to work outside or in a brightly lit room. In terms of raw power, however, Scar 17-18 with top specs beats legion and is up there or even outperforms the MSI Titan. So, you need to consider what you will use your machine for in the next 8 years..

I have this laptop and its great , its just seem to run hot to me and does thermal throttle according to HWINFO even on Turbo and MAX fans. Will you be doing any guides to how to undervolt this laptop so it runs cooler?
Just got mine today. My one complaint is CPU temps. If I don’t turn on turbo mode the IDLE temp at 2-3% usage is 89-91c. That’s insane!
Definitely get that checked out. Sounds like faulty thermals. Might need a bios update also.
Hi The liquid metal is only on the CPU side, GPU is still using normal thermal paste.

Hello, I have an Acer Predator Neo 16 2023 laptop. After reinstalling Windows 11 and installing Predator Sense, I adjusted the RGB keyboard light. But the keyboard light does not change and only has a blue color. While before installing Windows, Each of the 4 zones worked!! Please guide me where the problem is

Funny enough i was deciding between those two as well. I want to go look at both of them and person and played some games on them. I do have to have to say, the acer predator Helios was a lot better build quality and performer. But the only r3eason why i was considering the m18, was because of the 18 inch screen size. Its really up to you if you'd rather have a bigger screen and less performance, or a mid range screen but have better performance.

I really want this one for its 4080. The one i wanted before is a asus g18 but only has a 4070 8gb vram. Im afraid 16inch will be too small. I come from a 34inch OLED ultrawide.

4:20 those 2.5 hours game time you mention here are while using the 4080?
Must be a regional thing but in the US we get a 1000 nits Mini LED screen which seems like a big step up.
For some people the PWM on those screens causes people headaces and serious eye strain. They are beautiful displays at glance though!

There is no best RAM for a certain laptop. If you want a certain speed, get that speed RAM.
any brand of laptop ram would be good. For maximum benefit, choose DDR5 RAM with frequency of 4800Mhz.
I upgraded my RAM to Crucial DDR5 4800Mhz. 2x16GB.

The RTX4070 equipped model comes with 1TB, the model we reviewed with RTX 4080 has 2TB of storage for the Malaysian market.

We recommend using balanced mode for the most part, as performance and turbo modes will boost all clocks to as high as it could. If the issue still persists, you should get it checked as that is abnormal.
try maxing fan controls as well.
@@magnacarta7045 Heating problems have been solved .I did some bios updates which improved performance and thermals. Some tweaks were also performed and my bad I tested the laptop in 25C-28C.
Under volt it by 2-3 Percent 10-15 lesser temp but 5-8 lles fps

I ordered two predator helios 16 paid for shipping to come fast from Amazon and of course they send me the wrong laptop they sent me the neo version which is cheaper so now I have to wait to get refunded to order so hopefully the second time around will be better

Get 4080. 4070 is much slower and only has 8gb vram which isn't enough at 1600p.

If i9 4070 costs = 1910$ &
i7 4060 costs = 1622$
Difference is about 288$
I have a 4070 now not much of a difference in performance because the 4070 doesn’t get any extra performance over 100 watts on the gpu.

@@universalplayers6038 honestly I disable the extra E cores, because if you run them your main P cores won’t get enough power while gaming. I have the 13980hx with 24 cores and if I game with the 16 E cores on I get 100 fps in warzone. If I disable them I get 130-150fps. I’d say if you only plan on gaming a ryzen processor like the 7845h might be better. Unless you want to disable the E cores every time you play a game.

READ CAREFULLY: Your reviews were good before, but now you are making them worse and worse. This laptop has main issues and you didn't mention them at all. interfere between sound and Fn functions including RGB and touchpad, and very bad ergonomy for typing (the standard size for hand support is about 9CM, but this laptop has more than 11cm hand support tail which is super annoying when typing. It's very heavy and the charger is huge. the webcam does not support Windows Hello. Ram support is set to DDR5 4800 and it does not support DDR5 5600. There is 2 useless Thunderbolt USBs back there and you can not use them to charge your laptop with them and get rid of that heavy 330W charger anywhere. you just keep saying aluminum body like all other TH-camrs but you never worked with a laptop to understand how thermal conductive and bad it is. it get hot and cold based on the conditions and it's not comfortable at all. THESE ARE THINGS THAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU TO SAY. NOT SOME KIDDOW JOKES ABOUT GAMES AND SHOWING OFF THINGS.

@@lalabeauty8121 my choice is something durable and good like the Legion Pro 7i/5i series, but the Legion Pro series also have a funny bad problem: the audio combo jack 3.5mm is on the right 🤬, and you can't work with a mouse easily on the right side which is bad.
