- The hymn, 'The Lord's my shepherd, I'll not want', a metrical translation of Psalm 23 found in the 'Scottish Psalter' of 1650, set to the tune CRIMOND, by Jessie Irvine (1836 - 1887). The descant used in verses 2 and 5 was composed by W. Baird Ross (1871 - 1950).
This hymn was sung at the State Funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, at Westminster Abbey on Monday 19 September 2022.
May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

What I loved about the queen's funeral was that all the hymns were well-known. No trying to be smart and impress with hymns few were familiar with as happens at some funerals. Very much a reflection of the queen herself - no pomp just wholesome, straightforward thought for her end of life service. God Bless her .... may she rest in peace.

Our Lord and Savior certainly guided our late beloved queen's footsteps!
Why? Because HMTQ Elizabeth ii surrendered her will and her life to Christ
She reigned with trust in and obedience to God and with service to her country and people.

The richness of the British tradition and legacy is unique in the world. I hope they protect it as much much centuries as possible
We do try but many young people have no respect for our traditions because they have been taught by Communist teachers who think they`re all about colonialism when in fact most of them date back long before we had an empire.
Queen Elizabeth II was a descendent of the first Holy Roman Emperor Charlemagne and Alfred the Great, the founder of England. If we can`t practice our traditions and display our heritage in her memory then I think this country may be lost.

However British empire left great countries that occupied with huge amount of knowledge, of development. They taught half of world countries how to run their land. So comforting to hear on H.M. Queen Elizabeth's funeral (and wedding) When a king or queen serves his people, Christ alone can give such an attitude. Like our stadholder William I and William & Mary during the Glorious Revolution.
There are no other reasons to serve as a king or queen, just by God. She has her dwelling now for evermore in His presence. And I still feel the loss, also for the Commonwealth. 🌷 Love from Holland and may God bless you

Reflecting back on Her Majesty's life, service and reign, I'm reminded of William Wordsworth's poem 'Three years she grew in sun and shower'.
Her Majesty, had been steadfast in all the trials and tribulations during her reign. She never wavered from her faith in the Almighty upto the very moment she finally left us.
She had every opportunity to display her earthly power and might; but instead she choose humbleness, kindness, compassion to all.
She will always be incomparable and unparalleled in her dedication to the services she had dutifully rendered.

I do wish we continue with the word "Queen" in the anthem until Her Majesty's first death anniversary as a mark of gratefulness, respect and honour to Her Majesty. (I know it feels and sounds awkward....just my thought though).

Love the hymn played. Perfect notes by the organist. The pause after every verse was rushed Taki ng away the grace we saw displayed by our Beloved Queen of Great Britain during her reign. An older organist would have fashioned that grace in hymnal music. Nevertheless, good youthful organist. Love the authentic notes played
