After losing my wife to cancer I turned to drink , drugs , food , gambling , cigarettes you name it. Three years on and very unhealthy I quit everything I am on day 49 and struggling, not sleeping and the devil throws temptation at me and I just awoke around 5am singing this 😮 ... 🙏
I pray for God's Grace to abound to you. Hang on to Jesus he will give you beauty for ashes

When a loved one dies, especially a spouse that you have cared for during her illness, leaves a huge void that you want to fill with everything and anything just to dull the pain of your loss. You’ve done well thus far, keep going and remember the words of the psalm ‘goodness and mercy all my life’ . The devil is always on the back of believers, he doesn’t bother those that have no interest in God, they are already his. Life will never be the same without your wife, but it will get easier. You may not feel like socialising right now, but try to get out to church and speak to other Christians who can support you as you struggle with life, and lay your burdens on Jesus each and every day, he will carry you through. x
I believe that the world is in such a parlous state simply because we no longer attend Church services, we do not recite this Psalm in school anymore and we no longer hear this emanating from halls during choir practice.
We have forsaken God and for this we are paying the price.
Old ways are being corrupted or lost altogether.
God's grace, love ,mercy and presence is upon you always continue to fix your eyes on Jesus and desiring more intimate relationship with father God ..He will lift up, hear you we just need to set our hearts to understand and humble before Him.
Keeping the true word of God in our hearts, our minds and our actions will counteract the turmoil and baseness around us. It is within ourselves that we find God and ultimately peace.
Yes World is ready to tear its self apart it is Spiritual warfare down here however Lord is victory Christ the redeemer .
He never leaves us.

This hymn is the 1st hymn being sung at my wife’s funeral. My wife was taken from my very suddenly on 5th April after only 3 days in hospital. I miss her very second of every day, we were very happily married for nearly 64 wonderful years. R.I.P. my sweetheart, I will see you again someday, bye, bye my love. I LOVE YOU FOR EVER AND EVER

My mum and dad have both passed away in the last 12 months. Like you they were married for 64 years. It is a very rare and special bond to have. Your wife is with you always in your heart and memories. I hope you are starting to recover from the shock 🙏🏻

My Mother passed recently at 93 My brother died twelve years ago .
prior to her death months before when she required an operation
She reconnected with her faith .
Psalm 23 with her her whole life and so was the Shepherd .
She sang this hymn to my adult kids and myself then turned around said tonmy kids find the Good Shepherd.My kids had never herd my Mum sing this Psalm or any Psalm .Good Shepherd found me her daughter helped reconnect In his grace became a Godly daughter after years in pagan i wilderness worked as a nurse again his Grace

Life's most painful experience is to lose a new born baby. I speak as a retired Neonatal Nurse and still remember many of the parents we supported as they went through this devastating experience. It turns the whole future upside down as all the dearly held hopes & dreams for that child are cruelly snatched out of your hands. You went through a dark and heart rending time. I'm glad you're son is being kept safe in heaven for you

I was manipulated into an abusive relationship with a pathological liar and Narcissist who revealed their true hateful, demonic self at the end. Please don't waste your time and energy on broken people who have no genuine love or empathy to give. God wants you to be happy and will help you if you put your trust in Him and let Him guide you. ❤️🕯️

One of my favourite hymns, my mum and dad had it at their wedding, then in 1991 my mum suddenly passed away aged 43, so we had it at her funeral. Then in 1996 I married on her birthday, and had this hymn at my wedding
