Ive watched so many of the tattooing 101 videos and your advice has always been well researched and usually spot on. Thank you for your time. Teaching us newbies can't be easy. lol. And don't ever lose your candidness. It's rare. 🤘

I'm just starting out, and this video was very helpful.
Because I've already been drawing/doing art for quite some time and also have alot of tattoos, I already know what style/types of tattoos im interested in doing.
This helped give me a better idea of which machine(s) will be best for me/my work.
    Thank you 😊

After watching tons of videos, I purchased the Mast flip due to the versatility of changing the strokes 2.6mm,2.9mm,3.2mm,3.5mm,3.8mm, 4.0mm. I can't wait to try it.

I spend thousands....first 5 years I used coils and I started experimenting with rotaries and pen style machines ...I even started using the battery powered wireless pens just to end up back to my coils lol.....I do use a Dan kubin and bowers rotary but mostly coils now I just like the audible feedback

I have a Dan Kubin as well its just a lot to learn how to bend the needle bars correctly to have them run without spitting. But they are a great machine just wouldn't recommend one to someone first starting out.

I really like the traditional art specifically from Lew the Jew and then Sailor Jerry. I just want to do it as a hobby and maybe never go off practice skin. I am leaning away from the traditional machine, because my last few tattoos were done at a shop with younger artists who only use the rotary style and they say it more comfortable. Do you have any suggestions?

I think coils are best for learning because of give. Workhorse Irons are what I apprenticed with. Irons help build muscle memory and reduce shaky lines. Probably not a good idea to start with rotaries. No gives. You can really hurt someone.

Tattoo machines vary from brand to brand and style to style, so practice with what you plan on using will only help you out. No new learning curve with a "new machine" that feels different to start with……. Why learn on a cheap machine?

As someone who has recently become almost obsessive over the art of tattooing and the history of it I find myself wanting to learn how to tattoo I am the furthest thing from an artist but have learned there’s alot more to tattooing than drawing dope ass sketches and what not, but my plan was to get a machine and some ink and a couple pieces of fake skin and see if I can’t draw something cool and maybe in a year or two get proficient enough to touch skin? The last thing I’d ever wanna do is insult a professional tattoo artist but I’m literally just looking to start doing some art snd any suggestions on machines or supplies would be greatly appreciated. Literally just wanna start a new hobby and see if I can’t get decent at it or at least good enough to tattoo myself lol

@@tijuas3425no but tattooing literally involves permanently altering someone’s skin and needles going into people which can be very very unsafe and lead to terrible blood borne pathogens without proper instruction and teaching on the specific sanitation tattooing needs. It’s not always about money some people causing harm to others due to being unsafe can ruin the reputation of tattoo artists everywhere (which has improved greatly compared to when they were mostly notorious for gangs and bikers, take Japan for example) and not only harm peoples entire career reputation it’s dangerous for the clients and especially the scratcher themselves since almost everyone’s first tattoo is on themself and a bad tattoo/injury can lead to irreversible career damage for the artist who did it
