  • Finally upgraded my lighting setup, thanks to the kind folks at Neewer.
    This is their NL660 LED lighting kit, which has some really useful features and take up a fraction of the space compared to my soft boxes.

    Looking really good, I agree I think good lighting can make you stand out as the audience will notice the effort. Always tried to light my videos as good as I could.

    The warmth difference is absolutely amazing between the softboxes and these new ones. And those spotlights make the background look amazing, I might have to invest in some of those myself. I have the slightly cheaper and smaller model of these Neweer lights but it works perfectly for my setup as my room is much smaller than yours.

    • @onaretrotip
      @onaretrotip  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, the warmth is worlds apart with these, the old ones were just too "all guns blazing". I can link you to the spotlights I bought of you like? They come with remotes and seem pretty decent quality.

    you can angle the light lower by having the light bracket horizontal as opposed to vertical

    • @onaretrotip
      @onaretrotip  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      What do you mean exactly? As far as I'm aware it's already horizontal.

    • @thephotographyjunkie462
      @thephotographyjunkie462 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@onaretrotip on mine the bracket part where you put the light stand actually has a separate hole on the side of it. So on your thumbnail i would consider that vertically mounted as the light stand is going into the bottom of the bracket. that only gives limited up down swing of the light whereas if youtake the light off the light stand and put the stand into the hole on the side of the same bracket it makes the arms of the bracket go 90 degrees from the pole giving much more travel

    • @thephotographyjunkie462
      @thephotographyjunkie462 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can see by your video you do have the same side hole in your bracket

    • @thephotographyjunkie462
      @thephotographyjunkie462 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its a bit counter intuitive but that hole is so you can attach the bracket to the light stand at a 90 degree angle to the light stand
