Im 64. Grew up alcoholic father and emotionally distant mother. I was oldest of 5.Two sets of twins after me.
I got married at 20. We knew each other for 2.5 yrs. We had 3 bio. & 3 adopted kids. Parenting filled my cup. I gave my life to patenting the kids to have a good basis. After 43 yrs the kids are gone. My marriage is in a ditch. I feel stuck. Like my life is over. Im not happy.

Love yourself, start loving yourself, like really loving yourself. Find activities you like, that make you feel good. You can be happier than you are now but it takes work ❤

Mine is primarily anxious with secondary avoidant. I like to be the nice guy, it comes naturally and was raised to be this way, while at the same time not to be a cry baby and to pick yourself up and be a man. So, that is where avoidant comes in. I have also come to believe I have significant traits of borderline (discouraged type mostly with some petulant traits/some risk-taking traits). My parents were great raising me (maybe some issues I am not aware of, but they loved and cared for me for sure), but I have had a big struggle having healthy relationships all my life and I am middle-aged now.

Where can I find the video where you talked to teens about substance abuse and rehab? I was put into rehab 4 times before the age of 18 and would like to listen to it. I have 2 years sober now! And a wonderfully determined 2 year old 😀 learning to help myself and be better for her❤️

If you work with all kinds of people in the general public for years and someone does something very nice and follows with something equally terrible and the terrible makes you want to not be near anyone anymore, what does this mean? How can one sentence erase years of hard work? Or has years of abusive behavior hit its peak and this was the straw that broke the camels back?
    Some say it's codependency.

Disappointed in many of so called "licensed" therapists, psychologists. The internet is filled of these life coaches. Some call themselves experts.
