For the leaderboard, I would say, keep 2 years but not longer. I feel 1 year is too short since I usually wait for sales like many people. Especially when you think of the shoes that were released at the end of the year. After 2 years, most models are no longer available so you could remove them.
Lets extend it to 2,5 years / 30 months. Rarely new models in stores, yes, but here and there you find some. Or 2nd hand offerings, unused or just ever so slightly used, but half the price. But ok, if the rest of the shoes go into a historical leaderboard it should be fine. Anyway, as the years and the tech progress, there will come times where every shoe is a 10/10 compared to the then old models and the scoring system isn't useable any more. But when that time comes, I'm sure all the testers and reviewers figure something out, like resetting after 10 years or after every major jump in technology.
I would say a bit longer than 2 years as well. Sometimes there are shoes like the Adidas Pro 3 that are the best selling and widely available for years, and even after their next version is released. So either make it 3 years, or use a different dimension such as 'is it widely available for sale'.
@@aliasgharkhoyee9501 agreed. But "widely available" depeds from country to country, area to area, shop to shop, sfter market to after market. Diffucult decicion + Run-are would waste tons of time checking world wide availabiliy. I think a little bit of custom decicion is required and necessary.
The leaderboard longer than 2 years is very good not for the purchasing reason! It rather makes you wonder what could have gone wrong with the line (if some old model stays high & new one is missing. One point, maybe the older shoes should get a darker font color - just to show it's no longer newest model.
Managed to pick up the Neo Vista on a 25% discount, AUD$240, which, for me, would still be too expensive for this type of shoe. Nevertheless, took it for my first run this morning, just under 14k at an easy pace with a few strides. Went TTS and it fits well. Minor issue with some pressure around the heel that I was aware of throughout the run. I was worried I might get a blister if I ran longer. Some people mentioned the laces can bite into your ankle in the last two eyelets where they have a plastic overlay but I didn't have an issue there. You do get that Wow factor from the bounce and fun feel and you do feel high of the ground. However, I wasn't blown away by it and I actually got some discomfort in my left knee. Now, I can't blame that on the shoe because it could just be a coincidence and my poor running mechanics. Garmin also indicated my performance condition went down slightly which always makes me sad. I'm hoping I will like it more over time but head to head with the Superblast 2 I'd prefer to run in the SB2. It might not have the fun factor but it gets the job done and done well without discomfort in any way.
I would’ve bought the brooks max for $160. But $200 it’s too expensive for a recovery heavy shoe. I went with the Superblast 2. Two different shoes but for the money one was justify for me.
@@bloatedtonydanza7798 it's a shame it's so expensive, SB2 is much more versatile so you will get better value from that shoe for sure. Thanks for the comment.
2 years-list or keeping previous and current model sounds perfect
