Something to keep in mind with Water types in general is that Rain Dance can be extremely useful. Having a 50% boost to Water moves can really make a difference. For Phoebe and especially Steven, for instance, that move could have turned Dusclops into an OHKO and Metagross into a 2HKO. With that said, I'm glad to see you continue to improve at Emerald.

Regarding the Wallace fight, you could have nabbed the Toxic TM in Fiery Path, which puts Milotic on a timer. That means that Pelipper's moveset for Wallace could be Surf / Toxic / Rest / Shock Wave.
For Steven you could consider the Rain Dance TM, though it requires a detour to the Abandoned Ship as well as a mon that learns Dive

Water sport to me has 2 uses. it can be handy in doubles in case your teammate is weak to fire and it can learnt by Surskitt which evolves in to Masquerain which is weak to fire, so its a bug that stand up to fire moves. I like the moveset options you got for this thing, fire water, electric, ice, solid special set. I hate facing this thing, in one battle it got off 3 protects in a row, the odds of that are massive and I hate it for it, but I love what you've done with it

On JRose11's last upload, I made a very interesting observation about confusion. It causes the gen 3 AI to make a lot of mistakes due to how their simulated damage roll works. Not only does it cause them to hit themselves in confusion as it does, but it *also* causes them to avoid using moves that they hit themselves in confusion on in their simulated roll (it rolls as 0 to them). This means it causes the AI to not use their best move 50% of the time while also causing them to hit themselves 50% of the time. In the case of Wattson's Magneton, this will prevent it from using Shockwave 50% of the time as well as fail 50% of its moves meaning confusion makes opposing trainers much less effective than it otherwise would.

One run I'm hoping for in the future is Castform. I actually did a solo Emerald run with it myself and you may be surprised to be told that it can be a total MONSTER. It has a bit of a slow start with only Tackle to start and having the Medium Fast growth rate, but once it gets its weather-based moves, it turns into an absolute demon. Admittedly, you're a bit limited because you obviously can't have all three of its weather-setting moves AND all three attacks it learns that go along with the weathers, but if you play it smartly and utilize it, making sure to manage its moves well, it's incredible. Then when it learns Weather Ball, it's over for most of the region. What I did was do enough training to have Weather Ball for Wattson and absolutely steamroll him, but I don't know if that's advisable when you're trying to go as quickly as possible; trying to get a Medium Fast Pokemon up to level 30 for Wattson may be a bit of a tall order time-wise, but if you do a run with Castform, we shall see. Pick up TM's like Ice Beam and Flamethrower for more move set flexibility during the league and it's a wrap. Probably its biggest weakness is having to use the first turn to set up a weather. That leaves it susceptible to annoying things like Sand Attack and other statuses, plus doing that, the transformation animations and the text saying "It's raining!" or whatever at the end of every turn can kill its time in the long run. Substitute is something I didn't try and could help mitigate that issue, but I'm not too sure, with that causing potential move set constraint. All that said, though, I was able to effortlessly sweep through the entire Elite Four with it by using the right moves at the right times, so maybe it can make up the lost time and still rank very highly. During my run with it, I came to realize there may have been legitimate reasoning behind its seemingly underwhelming stats. It also turns Steven inside-out, so I hope you do that run soon and have a blast with it.

My assumption for the weird functionality of the water/mud sport moves is that maybe they anticipated double battles being more popular, maybe they even wanted to implement more of them into the game, since they were introduced in this gen (I think?). So you could be in a double battle with say, a water sporter and a grass type, then the enemy fire type uses sunny day- you get free solar beams but now you need water sport to soften the flame throwers?

ooooooHHHH MEDICHAM! YEAH. I really like that Fighting/Psychic type. It's got Huge Power. Funny that you can re-teach it the three elemental punches yet because it also starts with: Bide, Meditate, Detect, and Confusion, you won't start with those. It also gets Hidden Power quite early at level 18. While High Jump Kick is a strong move, the only way to prevent it from missing is to use Mind Reader which it naturally learns at level 22. To deal with Psychic types, it would need HP Bug. Otherwise, it's attack stat is comparable to Hariyama however it is in the Medium Fast growthrate much like Pelliper. Biggest threat is actually the ghost type and maybe some flying types but otherwise, it's only going to struggle in a handful of places.

I do not think anything will come remotely close to it once it's optimized (detouring for Candies will be good).
Even with its slow growth, 150 SPATK + Rain + Surf/Ice Beam/Thunder should ruin anything in its path.
The only plausible roadblock would be Watson, but even then I think it could just brute force it.

A fair way to split the difference between game time and real time would be to compare the game times with a linear combination of the real time and game time with weighted coefficients. The coefficients will be dependent on some meta analysis. Say you have c1T1 + c2T2 = (the average time) where c1 c2 are the weighted coefficients and T1 and T2 are the different game times. From statistics, (c1^2)+(c2^2) = 1. So, you can put in test values for c1 and c2 that satisfy the second condition and then check the average time you get and apply this to all pokemon with runs. Then see how they fill out a tier list and see if that "makes" sense with the play experience. If it doesnt, adjust the coefficients accordingly to get closer to the ideal coefficient values that give a single play time.

I guess water sport is useful in double battles if one of your Pokemon is weak or neutral to fire. The move iş mostly given to the "support" Pokemon. Since you cant KO 2 pokemon with Pelippers not so great attack and Spa stats, you can water sport with it and enable powerful Steel type (metagross for example) to sweep without wasting turn by raising stats with it. Since water sport usually comes with protect, if the opponent wants to stop endless water sport and protect bs, they should focus on the support Pokemon therefore giving more oppurtunity to your strong Pokemon thats weak against fire

I really wish you did your first playthroughs with a neutral nature, similar to how Crystal first runs dont use hidden power.
A neutral nature would be the "default" of the pokemon and you could avoid going in with a bias. I think the neutral nature run would also allow you to find out more about the Pokémon. Did it need more speed in some key moments? Did it fall short of getting KOs sometimes? Did it fail to survive a move like Flannery's overheat? Seeing these situations would then help you pick an optimized nature.

Pepliper is a great option both in nuzlockes and and solo runs. Having both the flying and water type kind of helps it against grass but exposing it to rock and 4 times weakness to electric can be tricky sometimes to navigate. But thanks to it's speed protect helps you a lot to regain health and avoiding some attacks.
Wallace was a slug on a different level with toxic recover strats. I'm not sure if teaching toxic or using a different type of hp could work though. Because Millotic is pretty bulky. Maybe a physical attack could help or a physical type of hp.🤔

I can see water Sport being useful for mons that take Super effective OR neutral damage to fire type moves (i.e. the surskit line, WHY DID THEY HAVE TO LOSE IT'S WATER TYPING D:) to have a way to not immediately be deleted from their moves, butttttttt, yeah, Kinda hard to find a place for why Water types to have access to this move, other than being a Double battle gimmick to support their teammates, and have a way to nerf fire types without exposing yourself to Accurate thunder

Torkoal's sunny day negated by water sport, then overheat resisted by being water type. Yes it's very niche and not really worth holding onto until flannery, but in competitive i can see it being used to completely stall fire types.

Imagine how good it would be with Drizzle like it gets in later gens. Pelipper really showed up for this one though. I wonder what the best early route bird is? I agree noctowl probably won’t be very good but swallow is pretty solid and staraptor, talonflame, flamingo and kilowattrel are all good to great in their respective gens. Imagine how hard staraptor would go in gen 2 after the amazing performance honchkrow put in.

Another absurd feature of the stockpile group is that they all have 10 pp. Meaning thay when you walk around with all three on your moveset you get screweeeed

I did a run with it, and its moveset was so shallow I had an empty move slot for a huge part of the run.

pulpier was my first shiny Pokémon which sucks because the sprite is puke green lol. the cartrage at that specific time decided to freeze so i lost it lol.
interestingly enough meditite was my second witch evolved into medicham, and those sprites are cool.

I wonder if Toxic or Substitute would be decent against Wallace so that you can potentially take less hits in the fight? Substitute could also be good against Steven since that can allow you to get an additional hit in without needing to heal with Rest.

So he ran a Peliper with keen eye? Why? Did I just always run Peliper with drizzle that the thought of anything else feels wrong? Is keen eye that much better?

I think something like water sport would only be useful in say a double battle in this gen.

For game time, why did you put Pelipper in the B tier (under 7:30) when it had a time of 6:58, putting it in the A tier (under 7:00)? Seems a little off.
Glad to see that the Pokémon you deem a pain in the butt is an effective and lucky Pokémon for you. Perhaps later down the track when you retest you will find a few shortcuts/skills to shorten the time. Good luck.

Regarding water sport: no as far as I’m aware it’s basically never used for anything aside from gimmicks, mud sport is even more useless though
