- TinyMaker is an open-source and palm-sized 3D printer. We've spent more than two years designing prototyping testing and optimizing this printer. If you didn’t get a chance to get a kit, you can head over to Indiegogo now:
www.indiegogo.com/projects/ti...
this looks strangely official and i cant tell if its just some engineering students class project or an actual product
It has a link in the description as well as a bit of info at the end, it's a Hong Kong manufacturing group. The Kickstarter already ended (I think) so definitely something to keep an eye on
For me it looks more like a joke.
Probably paid $500 for a promo. Couldn't get seed funding
@@religionisapoison2413 isn't that what the Kickstarter was for? Seed funding?
@@bukszpryt_ Why? It's not that difficult to build a 3D printer with a small 320x240 or similar resolution SPI LCD and some random microcontroller. Many people have done so.
This guy has no fear lmao. Handling resin with no gloves and probably no eye gear. Printing with no lid
my friend's left eye was splashed with this kind of resin, blurred his vision and it never recovered
You can make prints without gloves, you just gotta be sure it won't react as bad with your skin, you need to not have cuts on your hands, plus gotta wash with IPA if you get resin on your hands. Also, if you print regularly, you can't do this, but if it's 1 print a month, won't hurt that much. I usually wear just 1 glove on my right hand, and no glove on the left, if the print is tiny, i might as well not use any gloves, since you throw it on an IPA bath after taking it out of the print. But, if you are clumsy, yes, that's stupid xD.
@@NightVisionOfficial You can absolutely become sensitive to resin if you keep exposing your skin to it. And even trace amounts of it seep into the skin, through epidermal into bloodstream. Don't ever use resin without protection.
@@NightVisionOfficial while some people are more sensitive to UV resin, it does cause you to get more sensitive to allergic reactions over time - even for non resin related things.
How about fdm printer to literally solve all problems
If this could be produced for $99 - $120 dollars with a small curing station it would be a very easy buy. For those newbies looking to get into resin printing it would be a fantastic start.
it is better to buy $200 4K printer and live with it, than throw $100 for that toy (320x240) and then anyway buy new one for $200
With the Elegoo Mars 2 at 99€ when it's discounted, there is not much space in the market for this one.
@@davidmunoz3478 for me it's the literal "space". Have no room for anything bigger
currently on sale for 110 including the curing station
Idk man, it's so tiny, i can't think of anything useful you can make on it beside keycaps and dice. My anycubic photon 4k mono is like the smallest resin printer on the market and even that has a 6 times larger print volume.
It would be great if product promotion videos with safety risks started by showing the user applying the appropriate PPE, especially those where the risks may not be visually apparent. Good on the 3DYT community to cover this via comments section!
As much as we love these printers, we're not gonna get our hobby made illegal because someone wanted something done quickly and carelessly 🤷♂️ but yes, thank you everyone pointing health and safety flaws
I'm so sad that I didn't see this earlier, it would be a great place to start for resin printers with the whole not producing a large mess and all. But I'll wait and see when the reviews come out and see if the final product is reasonably priced.
Same here, i would of probably funded this too.
@@PDRIFT86 read up on the safety precautions and PPE requirements for photopolymer resind. it makes no difference even if the printer is small
Having a resin printer, I disagree. I think the amount of caution as well as how much easier the process of cleaning the prints, vat, and resin printer doesn't become much easier as the printer gets smaller. A printer 4x the the size of this (like a elegoo mars) will be just about the same effort of work. Resin is inherently toxic, and give off plenty of vapors you dont want to casually breath in, so having a small printer like this on your desk doesn't lower that risk and exposure by much honestly. By contrast an FDM printer this is this small would be a different story.
@@gltovar Huh I hadn't realized, I also never thought to consider the fumes.
You all may be interested in the Anycubic Photon S. It's a similar product, I've seen it sold for like 99 bucks, and it actually offers more security, detail and a bigger platform for printing than this one. But it's still small enough for portability.
Damn, I saw this video just now and didn’t realise that the kickstarter was already finished.
Totally wanted to invest in getting one of these for myself.
Either way, I probably will do so once they are available on your webshop.
Please make sure to send some printers to reviewers so people become more aware of this printer and can see reviews about it.
I just invested there was four left right before i bought one. So I’m assuming theres 3 left now
This is pretty cool. I totally understand there would be a market for portable 3D printing, but if you had to print with it being plugged into a computer, you'd need quite a large bag in order to carry everything you need.
Laptop, cables, the printer itself, resin, wash & cure station, gloves, glasses, brushes and other tools for handling and cleaning, and all the other stuff that comes with resin printing.
you have no idea how much I want this
If you only ever make small parts, this is perfect. Rings, miniatures, small replacement parts or plastic washers. And being battery powerd you could take this to cons to print replacement parts for costumes !
sure! all you need are to sit by it for 2 hours while it prints in the middle of a con the give it an isoprpyl alcohol bath and some time in a uv curing station (hope you brought those with you) and then clean up the printer, cleaninig tank, used resin and store the used alcohol cause you cant just dump it. and just like that you have a small piece of plastic which could have been fixed with superglue.
@@cheptan1996 You have no idea, the lengths people go through to fix or replace their costumes. This is nothing.
Altho.... after reviewing the printer more closely, with it's way too low screen resolution of 300x200 you can't print anything with sufficient detail and that just makes it unusable for me, not to mention the weak UV light source. A print that would take 15 minutes on my printer taking 2 hours on theirs is unnacceptable.
@@cheptan1996 Agreed with Andrew, everyone at cons usually buy 3 day passes and also wait hours in lines for contests and venues. (As well as commission sketches) In reality it would probably just be a small station set up that you could pick up the piece on after you're in a two hour line or at a venue.) I don't necessarily see people carrying these but I could totally see a place set up for one at the con. Also, it's not uncommon for people to go in big groups and just hang around after events.
Might be nice for hobbyist jewellery makers.
If you just occasionally want to print a ring from castable resin, you don’t really need a bigger or more complex printer.
@@yourlocaltoad5102 you'd have to sand tf out of it since it's low res. Might as well drill and sand your own resin
Looking forward to following the progress of this. hopefully by the second or third generation, it'll be something I'm ready to buy multiples of as gifts :)
This is a revolution in ultra-small 3D printers.
Not bad at all! I already have a big FDM 3D printer for big items, but resin printers are just vastly superior for small, tiny things that need a lot of detail, and this would be perfect for that!
for those who dont know, careful with resin printing, it releases toxic fumes
I wouldn't feel too concerned one way or the other with the fumes, especially not at this volume
The resin is treacherous. Most people will probably not have adverse effects at all, because direct toxicity is very low. Some people will come close to death or may die, their airways close up and can't breathe. The more often you use it and more skin and mucus contact the resin residue has, the worse it might get.
>3d printers
>complaints?
>expensive
>too small
>this thing
>solves neither problem
ewaste
Looks nice and cute but it is just better to go with regular size printer. Still you have to have space for it, still you will make a lot of mess and it will emit fumes so you got to purify air.
I think the idea is this thing runs on 5w which is ridiculously low so it can be powered via a power bank giving you mobile 3d printing on the go.
It's niche buts it's pretty cool.
nooooooooooo you mean the kickstart already finished??? This is amazing
Great job David, Jose and joe congratulations on your success.
Honestly this a great idea since I would only use resin prints for very high detail on very small parts, anything bigger would go on a regular fdm
Great love the concept, I was wondering if you are going to provide upgrades kits for the screen. Increasing the print quality=?
Looks brilliant to me! Small items are where SLA-printers really stand out. Large items can be printed with FDM for the most part. A small printer can fit anywhere and the post production box looks clever.
Nice product!
looks good!
Look at that. It's freakin' adorable. 🥺
Subscriber 400! very excited for this
it looks super cute
Sooooo cute! 🥰
See if I can get this with the washer and curing station I would definitely buy
It's so cute!
Not to shabby! Nice for making miniatures or keychain figures.
Sweet little printer. If the resolution is good and the price okay, a good alternative for most of the prints as the most are smaller size.
Love it 👏
This would be a great investment for small scale model railroaders, such as myself. I could literally print 99% of the details and parts for my N scale layout!
A bigger printer is better because you soon will find yourself printing dozens of parts instead of one slowly at a time.
So CUTE🤩
ok so how much? and coukd you make it even shorter so its a box shape?
Price? 3d printer & how many type resin use in this machine?
Please tell me what port does it use. Is it micro-usb is it usb-c? Why there’s no information about it?
LOL but is a Keycap!! 🤣🤣🤣
Perfect 3D printer for miniature games!!
Cuándo estará en Aliexpress?
perfect
i really want this but when I saw this video kickstarter already ended
Mini 3d printer resin I love that❤
What problem does it solve?
nice machine
If it is inexpensive, then this would be the perfect thing for people who have an interest in resin 3D printing but are afraid of the financial commitment. Especially if the washer and UV chamber come as part of the whole package.
I would love to meet it if it would friggin' ship already.
Where I buy? I need it
That's adorable
That's SO CUTE
Nice !!!
if its more affordable than regular 3d printers, this product will do well
This would be perfect for making gunpla parts. How much is the whole ecosystem?
Cool !
Want to back this but no buttons to click??
the batt power with that small doubt it can last the whole print with out over draining the batteries
I'm not into resin printers, but that thing, while really too small to be worthwhile, is adorable.
Also, while the name is probably a good choice for this, another option, since the info says that it's a,
*"palm-sized printer"*
Perhaps another good name, maybe for a different model, might be, simply,
*"Palm Printer"*
And as an advertising thing, it could include a file that prints out a tiny, but accurate PALM TREE!
See? A play on words.
YOU'RE WELCOME!
ROFL
😅😂🤣👍😁👍
Nice for candles makers
aww it's so cute
I am extremely sad to have only now seen this video and your Kickstarter campaign. Any chance of opening up some late pledges?
where can I buy those?
If this thing can print wargaming/trpg miniatures at a decent resolution; SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY.
Too small for anything if you don't want to cut the models. You print minis sideways most of the time.
If you consider a XY resolution of 0,1275 mm as a "decent"...🙃 (based on specs available on Kickstarter)
Wow? hmmmm could be a total gamechanger for the mini maker peeps.
i want to buy when will be available?
How to order?
ok now imagine one even smaller for printing tiny dallhouse furniture etc and maybe for reparing circuitboards etc
This would be the perfect printer for TTRPG/wargamers who mainly want to print minis
How can i get it
❤️❤️❤️
I remember in the early days there was a kick starter similar to this that was the $100 3d printer that had a single Lazer and mirror. This is probably only the next step idk why people want cheap resin printers so bad with such limitations
When it comes to 3D printing, I am concerned more about the safety than the price. Hope 3D printer companies focus on safety most.
No way that was for the escape key lmao!
I need it
Wildly irresponsible of them to not show the user with proper PPE in the promo.
Proceeds in printing a tiny gun with it
Have you seen how much Star Wars collectors will pay for a missing figure's gun? 🤩
Cute? Sure. Remotely practical? No. I do think the tiny wash and cure stations are hilarious though, lmao.
Why? They have better options for the same price
This is cool AF but not sure about the price point. I can get a high quality Voxelab Proxima for almost half as much.
i got a regular size printer and i should have bought the larger size after a month.
And no supports?!?!?
I backed it. Hopefully they don't screw us, and actually deliver.
I wouldn’t have done that if I were you, how much money did you back with?
@@justyouraveragenerd6237 $109. Nothing crazy. I've gotten many things from Kickstarter and I don't automatically assume something is a scam just because its from China. Surely it's possible. But I think this will deliver.
@@bobbleczar $109 is a reasonable amount of money. I don't believe this is a scam, rather I believe it is not worth the money and I believe it is giving false promises. Can I ask what are your expectations for this machine if you don't mind?
@@justyouraveragenerd6237 Absolutely. I've had 5 FDM printers so I'm well versed in that side of things. But Resin has always seemed scary to me. I really just want this as a cheap entry to learn the basics, while also just being enamored with how small it is. So basically I have low expectations (happy to be surprised) but its really just an entry point for me into resin. I know there are other larger Resin printers at only $150 or $200, but the cuteness factor here sold me. If my experience with Resin goes well here, i'll likely get a larger Anycubic.
@@bobbleczar read up on the safety precautions and PPE requirements for resin. it's no different even if the printer is small
$?
I wanna wait in this. Though I see this being usefull for table top game prints
till you want more than 1 mini every 5 hours.
@@CB-rv2lj that's why I have a mono S
@@CB-rv2lj why set up a larger machine when I only need one mini
@@davidkeen4972 ....because setup time is the same regardless of the size of machine ?
@@ecospline set up and clean up? no. See printing for me is for my hobby needs not a money making adventure.
When i want 1 mini....why fire up my larger printer when i just need a small print
Cheap version?
Affordable price version of making keycap?
that's so cool lol
MOYAI 🗿
At $400 bucks...are you kidding me? For that price you can get a large scale with resin and wash station.
Video sure makes it look like this thing could be used without ventilation, but it probably uses resins that evaporate fumes that are not at all good stuff to breathe.
Imma make a warlord titan on this
Man the ants dont need this technology. Im not tryna be enslaved 😂
oh look it's the GamesWorkshop killer
I am upset I cannot back this as I only found out about it via this video.... 10 minutes ago. -_-
Peachy printer? is that you?
I really like the finish and quality on resin prints. Its just the other processes you have to do after and all the mess and waste you deal with that puts me off big time.
Based
I need this please
Bonjour, je veux bien tester la machine
Team still hasn't delivered lol on Kickstarter. Gonna take another year? Waiting......
OMG I Needis
this would be great for dnd players
depending on the cost, I don´t see why somebody would prefer this over the small 2K printers out ther. the real cost of a printer is resin. you might as well get a bigger one
Would be worth it at 50€, for the price they are asking may as well buy a regular one.
