The first phase was perfect.. idk what compelled them to ruin it with the second phase?
I was fine with it being Radahn lore-wise. I wasn't fine with the "there is only one way to beat this boss and you will bend or fail" approach.
@@CernyGaming lore wise radahn makes sense but I still think that a unique final boss would have been more interesting.
@@CernyGaming yeah lore wise it’s like, I guess it makes sense technically. But I still think it would have been massively cooler to have fought a revived Godwyn
@@boringblaziken8122 it would've been cooler if it was just Miquella, or radahn and then only miquella.
@@AwfulWeather5684godwyn can’t be revived pay attention
Literally tried this and beat it 1st try, i thank you with my entire soul. Tried 50 or more times and would get close but the holy damage would win. So again THANK YOU!!!
Happy I could help! Once you know how to deal with the ridiculous amount of damage, things get a hell of a lot easier. In my final fight, I played kinda lazy and still won.
I just hid behind my upgraded Fingerprint Stone shield permanently and let my Mimic Tear draw attention, while I spammed Blasphemous Blade special whenever Radahn was not looking at me :') That worked, 'only' took 30 tries.
Blasphemous Blade has carried me through some tough times.
I'm on ng+4 and this doesn't ogase him at all 😔
Nice vid, the slowed clips of every move is actually ridiculously useful, thank you
Happy I could help! Good luck!
I play all ds game, include Nior. I play Elden Ring 230 hours, LV 255 and I give up, I am done with this boss, the worse boss fight experience, I am worry about FromSoftware furture game, they just make is hard , but no fun. DS3 dlc , BB Dlc also hard, but fun.
Couldn’t agree with you more. They went too far and it seems like this boss fight requires specific builds to even stand a chance which is a bad design imo. You aren’t alone and I was loving everything else about this dlc up until this boss. If he was optional I wouldn’t be nearly as upset.
if you get caught in his pull, you can jump backwards just before he does the slash to avoid all damage, also you can jump to avoid the flying rocks, but slightly earlier than it looks like you need to. I'd forgotten about bloodhound step; it's way worse than I remember it being but still does work!
Just tried the first tip it works
I'm surprised you didn't mention Black Flame Protection. It makes the first phase a lot easier and gives more breathing room to setup for phase 2.
It's an excellent option for sure. I opted for FGMS which doesn't stack with it. 35% physical mitigation is VERY nice for both phases and fits in nicely with this approach so good call. I'll join this recommendation.
@@CernyGaming Awesome! Yeah, I didn't use FGMS. Instead I used BFP, Golden Vow, and Divine Fortification for Phase 2. Your video definitely helped out a lot though, as I went from struggling to pass Phase 1 to beating him in about 10 tries.
Your Scarlet Aeonia suggestion is probably going to help me out a lot I'm having trouble with him I'm on journey 3 too
Good luck! It's still rough to get the method down but once you have it you'll find it way easier. Little bit of RNG on Aeonia activation in phase 2. Sometimes he opens with the grab attack to shut it down.
@@CernyGaming yeah definitely rough I beat him finally tho I had to learn his attack patterns a bit but I finally got him, Scarlet Aeonia definitely made it a lot easier since it basically trivialized the first phase it was significantly more difficult to land it in phase 2 but with my Mimic Tear and that one ai summon I eventually was able to do it again making the second phase a lot easier
@@rohuffgamingakaLea1576 Well done! That was no easy job. Using a summon boosts the boss's health massively too so good on you for handling that.
@@CernyGaming yeah I know but the summon I used was that scythe dude who was good at tanking and could inflict bleed so he kinda kept it the same level of difficulty, Radahn had a lot of hp too tho
Hey man I really wanted to thank you because I finally beat him no summons 1rdt attempt after watching this video.
Hey that's great, glad I could help!
Everyone says to summon thoillers and anbach, but they suck and he is way way way tankier.
I absolutely do NOT recommend summoning anyone for this fight. The amount of extra health the boss gains is nuts.
@@CernyGaming yeah, I definitely get closer with just spirit ashs. If they were as good as other players, then maybe it would be worth the extra health, but no way they're worth it, especially thoiller, who doesn't even make it to second phases sometimes, lol.
@@CernyGaming what extra health?
@@charlespoliquit2813 summoning NPC’s in the boss arena makes them count as an extra player, giving the boss more health despite fromsoft making the NPC AI dumber than a sack of bricks
@@matthewzumbo9868 this is not actually true, summoning NPC's in the boss arena doesnt affect the bosses HP, it only affects its when they are summoned before the boss fog... I'm not sure if there are any Npcs inside the arena though, only before?
People really saying Git gud when the boss is straight garbage. Typical fromsoft fan boys
Thanks for the helpful video! Was on a non-stop struggle bus ride trying to do this thing without summons or the shield poke (which I am NOT knocking, was simply my personal goal). Was still having a hell of a time until I realized I hadn't leveled up my Seal lol with the rot still not quite finishing him off though, I had to get in close for one more quick bhb combo and it was a close one but we did it! Not sure if this fight on paper is meant to be harder than Malenia, but the non-stop onslaughts left me feeling like it might be close. Anyway cheers again for the video and loved the use of the slow-mo shots!
Congrats! I personally think this is a decently sized step up from Malenia.
Radahn has the same amount of damage negation against everything at 40% except for holy damage at phase one (0%) and pierce damage during the whole fight (20%), so if you are trying to choose a weapon, holy damage in first phase and then switching to pierce damage (thrusting swords or spears mostly do pierce damage. you can check this in your inventory). Fire/magic/lightning is actually the worst you can bring to this fight...
Great vid, finally beat him after many hours. Had to use summons and mimic but the key was switching to dual wield in 2nd phase, I was missing that part
Nice, glad you got him in the end, good job!
If you wondering with weapon to use for the fight I would recommended two handing antspur rapier with bleed affinity if you know how to dodge his attacks and want a harder challenge or if you struggle to dodge his attacks use verdigris or fingerprint shield as well as a thrusting sword or spear preferably antspur rapier with bleed affinity or one that can do frostbite and bleed.
Straight garbage tier boss. Phase 1, easy. Phase 2, relentless, aoe attacks, need to be frame perfect rolls. Also get stutter playing on PS5 every time he does his 4x holy attack.
What were your stats? Wondering if I can pull off this build around 180.
Well I know I had 40 vig, about 20-25 in End/Mind, 70-80 Fth, a bit in Str for a couple of other weapons I used and the rest in Dex.
To be honest, as long as you have enough health to tank the hits you can't avoid, and enough Fth to use Lord's Divine Fortification, the rest of it is up to you. Get all the Scad Frags and use the Haligdrake talisman+2, Golden Braid talisman, Pearldrake talisman and Dragoncrest Greatshield talisman. I only used Golden Braid and Dragoncrest and you saw how much less damage I took.
The key is stacking those resistances as discussed above and using Bloodhound's Step on a quick weapon. Other than that, it's up to you!
Best guide on this maniac i ve seen 🎉🙃
Thank you! Glad I could help.
did you talk about the 3 hit combo he does? I cant dodge that one at all without taking at least one hit.
Melee combos are generally avoided by dodging towards each hit. I ain't doing no hitless runs on this guy; all but the very highest top tier of players will take some hits at least.
I'm still figuring out how to do this
The first swipe you actualy just press dodge without direction input, this results, as you maybe know, in a faster dodge backwarts. Than you dodge the next swing normaly and the last one into him and than he is open.
However, i cant never tell quick enough, what he is about to do. Its realy brutal and you next reflexes of a snake.
@@fahrerflucht123to do that back step dodge you need a talisman, other it has no I frames
2nd phase absolutely ruins the awesome first phase!!!!!!!
I kind of low-key agree. They tried to do a Gael on roads type deal and the result was a bit cheapened.
Best counter to getting pulled into the gravity well is to run and jump away. Dodging is too inconsistent
Thank you so much. I just beat the boss thanks to some of your tips 🙏🙏🙏
Happy I could help!
Most helpful!! Thank you!!
Happy I could help!
When are you talking about this "EASY" part? ;)
How that possible i saw you got a small hit damage? While im higher level scadutree at maxlevel all holy buff and tear are the same but i got 1-3 hits only with 80vigor
I go through all the buffs I have in the vid; there will he something there you're not using. Lord's Divine Fortification perhaps?
The fact that I can Incantation Scarlet Rot in 3,500 damage solo with like 500/650 Scarlet Rot per Cast, yet me, and a buddy need OVER TWENTY TWO THOUSAND DAMAGE to inflict it with 100% Scarlet Rot Attacks/Spells... Something is fundamentally fucked with Multiplayer scaling. He shouldn't be getting upwards of 6.5-8x scaling from ONE PLAYER.
I might give up on this. I either get instantly kîlled entering the arena or the second phase does too much shît that I can’t keep up. Also I hate that when he goes into phase 2 he heals
Thank you so much. This is legit
Happy I could help!
Bro’s stats:

beating this guy without a mimic is pure aids
You got this!
tbh dont botter dodging those first lightning fast attacks they do near to n odmg
Worst boss in souls history. Change my mind.
Git Gud
@@nickfenech307 I beat him.
You're just bad, get good
@jasonroberts2295 I did and I beat him but that doesn't mean I think he's good. He's a terrible boss.
I'm on him now. I can no hit the first phase no problem, but that second phase is kicking my arse.
i thought malekith was bad, but this? ridiculous
Malekith still kills me more
@@CernyGaming malekith doesnt spam aoe bs
Wambulance
What was you scadutree blessing during the fight?
I don't remember, but it was a fair amount at least - it's needed for this guy.
is scadutree lvl14 enough?
@@charlespoliquit2813 no 14 isnt enough. Im level 19. Stil kick my ass. Maybe im just bad but this fight isnt for me. I just gave up. I wait for my brother to be on the same fight and we go 2 versus 1. I just cant fight radahn anymore. Im getting to angry. Its not fun for me and my family 😂
@@Jeroen-1989 he gets more health i think that way
@@dangelnut i did beat him alone after 82 attempts 🤣
Wait, what is that ash of war, somebody tell me pleas 😢
That's Bloodhound's Step. Carried me through the DLC first run.
killed him in pure dex build totally by chance. bugged boss need some rework
Love and hate it when that happens.
I don’t care how many times I die, I’m NOT using great shields
I don't use them either. You lose the feel of the fight doing that.
I have to thank you. Without this guide I would have been stuck on him forever. I must add I recommend having scadutree blessing 18 or more. It made things a bit easier
Happy I could help! Congrats on putting him down. It's easy to get tunnel vision with repeated tries; sometimes some fresh ideas is all it needs.
yeah I gave up.
Come back to it another time. You'll get it.
Actually... I just barely beat him. Thanks! lol
Lmao he’s not doing any damage to you
Yup. Stack up the holy resist and it's cake. I'd have gotten a better fight vid but it was easier than expected.
lol i take like 6x more dmg a hit XD
Just gotta stack up the resistances buddy.
this boss is a lot of things but it is not fun
❤❤❤😍😊👍
I love y'all from soft but this is shit.
A lot of folk agree with you
