My most disappointed movies, in my opinion, are Terminator Genisys, Batman V Superman, Iron Man 2, and Fant4stic (Trailers look promising and the cast and crew working on it were talented)

I love the director's cut of Watchmen and 300.. The Snyder Cut was solid. BVS was one of the most disappointing movies ever. Will have to watch the director's cut one day.

LOTR's is way too boring to be the best and requires too much knowledge of the books to make any sense and even then it may not. In terms of cohesiveness and feeling like one big story then yeah it's in the top 10 but in terms of actual entertainment value it isn't among the best trilogies, there's probably 15 better ones maybe more.

the new godzilla was just extremely underwhelming for me i mean there are some cool stuff in it but nothing else
Same, first half was good. Then it devolved into cool shots of Godzilla, in between aaron Johnson being bland and boring
They killed the wrong family member.
Bryan Cranston was the only member of his family that you cared about, and he dies early in the movie.
Cloverfield only works if you care enough about the characters to be worried about them.
By killing Bryan Cranston, they sent the message that no one in the movie is safe, and anyone could die because they're not afraid to kill anyone....but when Cranston was the only character you cared about, that doesn't work. You have to have a surviving character or characters who you can be equally invested in and worried about.
And that's the catch.
Cranston's son (Soldier Guy) wasn't boring when Cranston was alive. Cranston seemed deranged and crazy, and Soldier Guy was the voice of reason trying to reel him back in. You don't realize that he's boring until his dad is gone and that context is gone.
Had they kept Cranston alive and killed his son while his son seemed to matter, THAT would've made for a MUCH better movie (and an even more grief-filled, tragedy plagued Cranston, as opposed to just Soldier Guy's "Dang, my estranged weirdo dad was right, and died" sort of non-response...).
Soldier Guy would still matter enough at that point in the movie for it to seem like "oh shit, they're willing to kill anyone", and then you go on feeling bad for Soldier Guys wife and son, and worrying about how Cranston will survive. And then Cranston trying to get back to save his son's family after his son died "because of him" would be a compelling plot. Not to mention that keeping Cranston, the scientist who identified that all of this (something huge) was going to happen, being alive gives him a solid reason to hang out with Ken Watanabe - the scientist guy who is actually familiar with Godzilla, who studies and follows Godzilla, and the one other real interesting human in the movie who OBVIOUSLY has a whole lot more fascinating stuff to say, but is never given the chance. Having Cranston and Watanabe traveling with the military and being near the action would still make perfect sense, and Soldier Guy's functions could all be fulfilled by whatever random soldiers happen to be hanging around the area.
Me and my husband were laughing during that entire movie, it was horrible. The main guy sucked at everything he did and the worst part was him leaving that child in a crowd of people. Only good part was when godzilla killed that monster by breathing fire in its mouth or whatever.
Batman v Superman was my most anticipated movie EVER! I remember my hype level for that movie was so big and I wanted it since man of steel. It sucked and I hate zach Snyder now

Okay, I've listened to enough of these (so many!) that I'm still wondering what "grab that gem" means.
Also, you hit a lot of my most disappointing movies, but I want to add (5 years later) "Days of Future Past."
It's the LAST movie I allowed myself to get excited over.
"XMen: First Class" was great and we were so excited to see the old cast and the new cast together at Comicon.
Made my spine tingle and then all we got was a superhero SNUFF film and everyone involved lets Wolverine get dumped in a river where Stiffler finds him and they nobody ever follows up.
I loved Prometheus
And Crystal Skull wasn't great, but I think it gets too much hate. I didn't mind the alien thing because it makes sense for the time period, but it did get pretty cheesy at times.

4 to 6 were mentioned during production of 2 and 3 and to be headed by Kid (who is a shit and whiney character) and Niobi.

Iron Man 3 really shocked me, lol I don't know why I had expectations at the time, can't remember the motive, but I remember quite well my frustration with that movie. It was so BAD, SO FUCKING BAD! Really, one of the worst movies I ever watched, regardless of genre. I had a similar reaction with BvS and SS, but somehow Iron Man 3 traumatized me more, lol That whole final scene with Pepper saving the day... jesus, that shit was offensive.
Of the original (60s Batman) Catwomen, Lee Merriweather and Julie Newmar are both still alive (as of January 2021), though Eartha Kitt died in 2008. Obviously, both Michelle Pfeiffer and Anne Hathaway are still alive, too. I realise this is a 5 year old episode, but felt it needed saying!
It would be cool if JL Stepan wolf hint at dark side and then superman fights dark side in superman movie and then superman loses to dark side and has to beat him then JL 2
It would be amazing if superman died at the end of every dc cinematic movie, even if he just shows up at the end to do it, then is resurrected at the beginning of the next, with progressively longer hair each time.

THE SPIRIT WAS ONE OF THE WORST MOVIES IVE EVER SEEN! I had to hate watch the whole thing, I couldn't shut it off it was such a trainwreck! (and everyone knows trainwrecks are fun to watch!)
Terminator Salvation is my FAVOURITE sequel to the original 2 for similar yet opposite reasons. I didn't watch it in the cinema or for a year or so after it came out, assuming it would be terrible. Wasn't till my mate said it wasn't bad that I gave it a shot and it wasn't as horrendous as I thought it would be. Because of my fear of it being so bad (as bad as genesys ended up being), it feels better than it probably than is.
If You exclude the first 2 films, i can honestly say it is my favourite Terminator film ever made
I found with the LOTR, The Two Towers is the best book and worst movie adventure and action wise, specially for the hobbits.
Also, Guillermo del Toro worked on The Hobbit.

FInally found an opinion I think is completely wrong lol I think Unbreakable is M. Night's best and I appreciate it because its not really a super hero film, at least in film its more of a watchman-esque deconstruction of it than say, the watchman film or jupiter's legacy etc. but that's just me. I still haven't seen glass yet because I think Unbreakable shouldn't have a sequel, kinda goes contrary to the premise

I actually got Hancock on DVD for Christmas when it came out. I watched it for about 20-30 minutes and loved the whole drunk, shitty superhero. Then I fell asleep and woke up during the storm ending thing and thought it was a different movie

Yall should do a Caravan of Garbage on the Grindhouse movies, Planet Terror is actually one of the best horror movies ever, although I agree that Death Proof is lacking (so was Hateful 8)
I have a problem with civil war and for only one reason. I think its a great movie but i dont think it should be called civil war. One of the best parts of the comic is that it doesnt take a side, or at the very least in the context of the comic neither side is clearly the "good guys". In civil war (the movie) they very clearly made tony stark the "bad guy" not in that he did anything evil, but that captain america was justified in his actions while tony was not. They shouldnt have included zemo because it makes the movie biased.
