Megalopolis, aka: Shitty Incredibles This seems like a kind of movie where if you sat down with Francis Ford Coppola and watched it with him to the end, he would ask "so who do you think Adam Driver was?" and if you said "he's you, Francis," he would get really disappointed that he wouldn't get to explain it to you
If I was sitting next to Francis Ford Coppola, I would be sweating on whether he was him or Martin Scorcese. Like, I think I know what one of them looks like - but I don't know which one of them that is. Which one of them did Untouchables? Or was that The Goodfellas? Stanislavsky Kubrick?

I can't believe Francis Ford Coppola spent 60+ years building up one of the most legendary filmographies in history, just so he could personally spend tens of millions of his own dollars to make one of the most extravagently asinine self-insert fanfic of a movie and pay cinemas to air it to empty theaters.
I think you're ignoring most of his filmography. He is legendary for godfather 1,2 and apocalypse now, but goddammit he dropped off hard after those. His previous movie prior to megalopolis was a self insert trauma dump. He also made jack. He hasn't been that legend in a long time, and he hasn't spent 60+ years building up his career, more like 10 years of building it up, and 50 years of decline.
I also want to add, his movies really started noticeably dropping in quality following his stroke, so I don't hold any ill will towards him, he was still responsible for some of the most revolutionary movies of all time, but I don't see why anybody is surprised at this flop. "Twixt" was his previous movie, and I'm willing to bet nobody here has even heard of that, let alone watched it.
I goddamn hate Apocalypse Now, so for me his legendary filmography is Godfather 1 and 2. That's uh... not much of a list for someone who's been making movies for 80 years.
