    I used to live 25 yards from a mound with borrow pits on the other side. After heavy rains, I could walk my driveway and find artifacts. I spent my life building reproductions of all sorts of native tools and weapons. Now I’m too old to do anything but sleep.

    Most of the peanut fields were covered in Indian mounds and construction. Until the white man started plowing to grow their crops, they plowed the mounds down, scattering the artifacts, but you can steal, find them. It may be harder, but I am sure there is artifacts, steel layer just ask the farmer if you can walk he is Theo Before he plants after the rain is best auto fax will be sitting on stems like mushrooms. Easy to see if the rain is hard enough. Good luck, Sam Panther England

    It is my belief that Tom Mann Balt, all the artifacts he has from the farmers around Dothan Alabama. He has the largest collection in the world of ancient artifacts, more than any museum.

    Doesn’t do a lot of good to do a lot of grinding. …….. What an epiphany of knowledge and experience to share about percussion Knapping!
    I should have concluded this on my own, after so many ground edge broken pieces despite my care while using both Direct and Indirect percussion.
    HEAVILY GROUND EDGES are a legacy I have carried over from decades of Pressure Flaking where stout ground platforms are essential to create long pressure flakes.
    I must have hit every pot hole on the flint knapping road to success.

    i can make folks big blade orders. the client would need to send me the rock as i have no access to big stone , accept that the final product would be out of spec and they would also need to be willing to face delays as i will no doubt break all the attempts , but sure i will take your commissions just comment below for certain dismay with lots of delay !

    There is a place on the Alabama side at Fort Gaines, Georgia, that the native Americans used as a trade Center. This was Creek territory and many tribes. And other communities came there to trade. There is a huge chert quarry, just off the trade area you will find billions chert chips there where they made bifaces before, leaving to go home

  • @samengland5947
    @samengland5947 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Fort Gaines, Georgia is the place for white chert. Mostly blacks live there they have no use of chert. Go there and ask around they will be willing to show you for a few bucks. There is lots of white chert quarries. They are too many, and no one uses it. If you want to see the biggest Arrowhead collection in the world, go to TOM MANNS fish world you will not believe your eyes and they are all 100% ancient native made points

So speak from your experience nobody can tell you what your experience has been only you know that information. If they disagree that’s fine and it doesn’t carry any weight. We’re on your channel and value your opinion and knowledge not some keyboard hero’s. There are always going to be someone who disagrees. Thick or thin kinda vague terms for measurements. what's your definition of each and the demarcation point where thick becomes thin?

    • @KnapperJackCrafty
      @KnapperJackCrafty  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thick becomes thin at 5:1 width to thickness ratio. Less than 5:1 is on the thick side, more than 5:1 is thin.

    i have been knapping that keokuk for a little bit getting it from neolithics ...good bad ugly section. It is heat treated according to neolithics, and seems a bit chalky. I have noticed a slower strike can produce good results, on indirect. I have been learning from you and appreciate the time and work you do producing videos.

    What if the grass is so tall that if you drop something in it it's almost impossible to see or what if your hunting in the winter and you drop your white tools in the snow.

    • @KnapperJackCrafty
