Hi Patrick, thankyou for the discussion on inward force, versus straight op and down, that concept had been trying to find verbalzation in my muscle memory concious thought interface and was helpful to me.
That area that you tried at 1:14:15 by the concrete at the base was where I would have attacked the island with direct before switching to indirect. I was hoping that you would try that before taking down the step with the spatula tool and losing that mass. I thought the flake you took from the other side just before would have been a good cleanup flake if my approach would have worked. That concrete doesn't care what your skill level is though...it doesn't play by the rules for no one...may have to start calling it Guerrilla Granite 😄
Good morning..! For me anyway.. I finally have enough time to sit and watch.. Question.. Is this the same aluminum billet you've been using for at least 6 yrs..!? The thought just occured to me as I was watching some of your older content.. If so that's pretty amazing..!
I was rootin for you the whole way through, getting closer was the only way in my opinion. a lot of real points have plenty of stacks left on them, because in the end all they needed was something pointy on a stick to kill so they could eat. I believe the really pristine points was from the older guys that done it their whole lives and knew anyone could make pointy stone, but only the skills from a lifetime could make them pretty. Look at ishi, he had no need of making points, but did it anyway and gave them away because he had become good at it.
@@KnapperJackCrafty Glad to see you interacting. I usually watch Donny Dust Paleo Tracks, but your teaching in indirect percussion is probably the best on TH-cam. Keep up the good work Jack 💯😎
@@patrickadams6336 this is one of the best channels on the subject of flint knapping. Many other channels I've seen use to much set dressing and start looking like a Flintstones episode.
I personally think you could have gotten it, the concrete was the main factor. That I believe was the main issue. Not your skill range from all I've seen.👍

Love the Rain sounds. Should be a song. Knappers On The Storm.🤣😎🎸🤟🔥
Also start posting finished preform and point pictures in your community tab. Its there. Use it. It will also help your Algorithm.
@@RedEyedPatriot Hmmm... I need to look into that
@@RedEyedPatriot it says "Community posts aren't currently available on this device".
@@KnapperJackCrafty well dang idk why it would be. I'm on a mobile rt and I post in my tab.
Jack, Thanks again for the trouble you go through making these videos, I've learned a lot.
You're very welcome

I like the videos being over an hour and would sure like to see part 2 of the finished product...!!!
Learned a lot from this video, Jack . Thanks for showing the struggle👍🏻
No problem 👍

I'm going to try to apply that Tip Toe Through The Tulips technique to some non rock hitting activities and see what happens.
Hmmm...
It feels good when a wart that big pops off.
After that improvement, it was a success. Too much concrete to be predictable .
I agree
Gripping,
Never been captivated by any sort of sport, I think of knapping as more of an adventure
Interesting

I don't think it's the same one. My first one was chamfered.
Mr damage control! lol. You did good bud!
Thank you

True
Is there going to be fully explained videos on indirect only also ?
I've got literally dozens of those but I'll do some more just so they'll be in one place.
Outstanding 👍
Thanks
Wish I could understand platforms and see what you see.
Platforms are basically 60° bevels on the edge.
Use an angle grinder to cut the aluminum billet. Easy peasy
Hmmm
I broke 3 slabs of high grade obsidian yesterday. It was really a shock after a 5 hunting point hot streak.
So this does happen? 😭😭 Thought I just sucked ?? 🤣🤣🤣😭
After breaking many a slab, you'll eventually end up in rehab.
