    I love all the vintage signs! And Caleb’s bag was the star of the show. 😝

    Sooo glad the film I sent you worked! Fun to watch you used it. I also LOVE the Keep Portland Weird photo, the defect made it great!

    Be sure to check the rollers on the pack camera before you use it again. Sometimes the goop can dry up and lock ‘em up

    Just an FYI the Fujifilm prints were developing on the magenta side because they expired in 2006, not because of the heat. I've peeled many expired Fukifilm and Fujifilm usually leans heavy on the magenta side when expired.

    Came over here from your instant film masterclass (segment on film and temperature) - just had to say it’s so cool to see places in Portland on your channel! - I live just outside the city and so it feels like seeing “home”. 😊

    My nephew got me a 1980s land camera with the flash. It's still in the box. The film just came in. I want this cameras first film, to be of my boy.

    For cold weather back in the day
    I used a pair of battery operated hunting socks to keep the film and camera warm in the bag.

    but the change of color is what makes the picture great. more pink for warm weather so you can really kind of "feel" the warmth through the picture and more blue to "feel" the cold.

    I have an Instax Wide 210 and I keep the photos in my pocket after I take them and then when I get homr or in my car, I see how they came out. Best to keep them away from sunlight when you take them

    Thx for the tips! As someone who lives in a hot country that’s very useful for me ;)
    Btw, i also heard that potting ur new-born picture under a water bottle can also help :)

    • @JustAnotherChris
      @JustAnotherChris  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Indeed that can help as well. But I have found of the water bottle isn’t big enough it can develop an even or with a ring. Also This methods low temperature lasts a lot longer.

    Quick question, do you have/are you planning to make any guide or tips on shooting in cold weather? The place I live in gets very hot summers and very cold winters, and this video helped a lot with finally being able to get some shots in the middle of the year, but I still can't do much during late fall to the end of winter unless I'm inside, which means it's real hard to get some potentially real cool Christmas photos outside.

    Hey Chris,
    Do you know if it’s possible to have Polaroid photos restored?
    They were damaged in a fire 26 years ago. The plastic cover is off but I can still see my mom in the Polaroid pictures.
    Unfortunately, she passed on.

    • @JustAnotherChris
      @JustAnotherChris  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm I would say the physical photo no but you could always scan it and have a digital copy of it. Sorry about your loss.

  • @lowercase7455
    @lowercase7455 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I know this may sound quite stupid, but since I'm really new to instant photography, is it possible to replace the film cartridge battery? Basically I found an expired sx70 cartridge on the flea market for like 4$ and the battery isn't working.

    • @JustAnotherChris
      @JustAnotherChris  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm honestly chances are if the battery is dead the film probably won’t work. BUT A workaround would be to put the cartridge in and I type camera like the onestep+. Then go into manual mode and adjust the shutter speed accordingly for that film.

      @@JustAnotherChris Oh okay, thanks a lot!

    • @syukwan-kerr8118
      @syukwan-kerr8118 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could take a working battery and take out the film of dead battery pack in a dark bag and change the battery then put the film back in.
      This is gonna be hard however because you can't see whats going on.
