For Instax Mini film, I strongly recommend the mini 90. Unlike the mini 8/9/11/12 cameras, the mini 90 has some features such as: being able to turn off the flash, double exposure, bulb mode, among other modes. It gives you a little freedom to be creative.

I think Fuji Instax Wide 300 is sweet spot for me, wide pictures, cheap film and its only 100euros in eu. I don't mind the size and the black/silver version looks just awesome.

The best cameras for 2024 is twin lens reflex tl 70 plus for instax square whit integrated computer that tell the right nd filter to use in full sunlight and has also time of shutters manual and not only manual focus;but cost 700 $ and is bulky and heavy for tiny square film

Wide drastically needs more options. I want a pro camera but the RF70 isn't perfect. The Fuji 500AF, 200/300, or a modded one seem like the best options. But as much as you gain with modded ones you also lose some of the basic easy to use characteristics which are still nice to have.

Whenever I take a photo with a mobile phone, it gets lost somewhere in the photo vacuum. But with this, they come straight out. And we actually keep them.

Sorry but IMO Polaroids are not worth the exorbitant price of the film (double than Instax). Wildly inconsistent, fades much quickly than the Instax and is quite hit-or-miss for quality. This would be fine if they were a cheap, experimental thing. But you're also expected to pay quite the price for them. I'll stick to Instax, which is now getting also premium quality options (no thanks to Fuji) for those wanting glass lenses and full manual control.

I’m just starting to get into instant film photography (picked up an Evo a few months ago - love it!) and I’m really curious if there’s any other reasons you’d recommend the SQ6 over the Lomo’Instant Square Glass other than the framing issues?
I don’t know why but my heart is just really set on the Lomo Square but want to make the right decision in the Black Friday sales!
For a bit more context, I tried the instax mini 12 a few weeks ago and haaaated it for the general point and shoot vibes and lack of creative control. I know the SQ6 has a bit more customisation which I like the sound of but by the looks of it, so does the Lomo.

Hey Chris don't know if you might be able to help me with this but I'm looking at instant cameras as well as printers for the first time and I think I'd prefer to choose the photo to print but here's my issue, I LOVE the vintage/old look of polaroid photos, from what I've seen from a comparison video between the instax printers (including mini evo, square and wide) the only one that reminded me of them is the default setting in the mini link (I assume it looks the same on the square format which I'd prefer). But my question is, to get that distinct polaroid look do I have to shoot with polaroid or are there similar results when selecting something shot on phone and printing it? I'm new here and from what I can tell you mostly deal with the cameras not the printers but it would be of great help if you had any tip so that I can be more satisfied with my purchase, thank you!

SX-70 cams: $$. Modify/refurb SX-70 cams: $$$. Powerbar: $$. Mint SX-70: $$$$. All for the privilege of using Polaroid$ film, which is a downer: 15-30 minute develop time ideally in the dark takes the "instant" and "develops while watching" out of instant photography. You snap the photo and toss it to the subject who stares at the blank photo for a minute, then puts it down and forgets about it. Lost magic.
Personally, my fav is a hacked Polaroid pack camera with a Tominon lens and an Instax wide back. Instax film: 1/2 price of Polaroid, develops in 2 mins in the sunlight, but higher contrast. Snap the photo, toss it to the subject and say "wait for it..." 15 secs later the pic starts appearing. Magic.

Agree with your comments about the SX-70. Polaroid used to refurbish them but stopped because there are no longer any cameras to cannibalize for spare parts. It's a brilliant design but after 50 years they're getting fragile. Better for collecting rather than shooting
