hi!! the filter thing is brilliant! please can you do a step by step video on how/what to do for complete beginners? im confused about what you actually do with the filters like where do you put them or do you just hold them in front of the lens? thanks!
@@JustAnotherChris thank you king!! I'm totally new to cameras in general so I've been following your videos to learn, even bought a one step 2 BC u said it was good!! And got it off eBay bc u said to check there 🤣🤣
Hey Chris!, I had an idea recently. Instead of swapping the old battery, Place two 2032 coin cell batteries corresponding to the contacts, then connect the coin cells with aluminum tape. The voltage should be 6V in series. This method reduces the bulk of the film pack. Also, 2032 coin cells are widely available. I don't have a suitable camera to apply this idea but I love to see you try it.
@5:18 there is a picture of the sun. If you would do this with an instax camera, the sun would have turned up into a black spot. That is sonething what a really hate about Instax. Would you say a good Polaroid camera would be better at all?
Dark bag is a straight jacket!!! My first camera was a Colorpack II and it cane with a "cold clip" to put the pull apart film in ... it was basically an allunminum and you were supposed to put the put the peel apart film in and put under your armpit to keep warm ... you may be on to something!!! I miss the old opening with the pixels!!!
I haven't seen anyone try this yet. Get two packs of film (try it first with the packs that have the built in battery), place both packs inside a dark bag or dark room. Proceed to remove 1 frame (as a test) from one of the packs, and then try inserting it into the already full pack, thus making it a 9 pack. If you can take 1-3 shots without having the film jam as it exits the camera, try filling the pack back up again, but this time with 10 shots (which would be just like the way the old original Polaroid film packs were produced).
"transparent paper" lol! 😅 that is a transparency for an overhead projector. back in my day, teachers wrote / printed on those to project in front of the class. 👵 excellent use of the medium! i love what you did! 📸
Hey man very informative and useful content, can you also put on the link the scanned file of the nd film filter? It’s kind of difficult to find one here in my location so i can make a DIY 😅, thank you so much
I live and die by the - 600 Battery taped to the back of the I-type cartridge ( *BE WARNED THOUGH* that some parts on some cameras can get in the way, luckily they're often redundant parts which aren't necessary with the *modern* polaroid cartridges, for example, when I pulled out a taped battery cartridge from my SLR-680, it half ripped out the forwardmost metal prongs. I was able to completely remove it by popping it off the last rivet and letting it just fall out, and the camera worked 100% again with my method, and even easier this time) - But this is the *only* time I've had an issue with using the battery method 😁 It did make me think I had totally destroyed the camera though until someone told me all i did was damage a redundant and useless part that wasnt needed for the camera anymore, so, phew!
How many photos will each of these batteries do? I may 600 convert my one step and just repack the 5 new film packs I have with I type film over and over again if I could get maybe 24-32 photos from each battery it’d be worth it imo then I’d just buy 600 film and repack those once it’s empty with more I type film
My friend!!! Get yourself a film shield / frog tongue!!! I effin PROMISE you that all of the opacification errors (light streaks) on the film goes away COMPLEEEETELY. I was hesitant at first about installing one, but ever since I put it in, I never had a light leak ever again :0
Hey! I was thinking of trying out the transparency paper thing and was wondering if you need to cut it out the same size as the nd filter or if that was just something you decided to do; and if so do you have anywhere I could get the template?
Dear Chris get dizzy from all reading and watching…have dilemma…should I buy one step+( with app etc) or old one step600 step up…if you can advice would be great thx and greets
There’s factors you need to take into account. One uses both itype AND 600 film for instance that being the onestep+ but the camera is going to cost a lot more than a older 600 camera. If it’s going to be your first polaroid camera I would go with a older one to see if you like shooting polaroid.
Do people not see how amazing these hacks are? I'm blown away right now. The clear paper and batter mods are just so cool.
Glad you liked them!
My guy those pics with the filters are freaking amazing!!! I neeed to try that! Keep up the sweet content bro!!
Thank you! Much appreciated. Lots more coming

Wow those transparent self made 'filters' with the designs on them is pretty smart. You could like, create a watermark with that
Exactly!
Danke!

Have another like this coming soon!
Just getting back into shooting film, it’s been like 20 years, and your channel has been great help.
Well welcome back!! Glad your finding my content helpful!

You would need a wire or foil connecting the two and place them in opposite directions. You might also try applying them to a piece of cardboard.

Ohh yeah I forgot about the cold clip! I wonder if that would work 🤔 also Pixels???
@@JustAnotherChris Where you walk into the room with no pants on in the opening!!! 😁

This is so cool! And I love your positive upbeatness :) So I assume you tape the clear plastic sheet with image on it over the film pack??
Glad you liked it! And no tape is needed for the transparencies
The printed acetate hack is genius!
Only the best around here!
This video is old but I have to say that it's really, deeply impressive the level of work you put into your sets for your videos.
Thank you!
Love the background and stranger things effects on this video ❤
You can use I type film in the sx-70???
For using iType in your SX70, using an ND filter helps out a lot to get correct exposure, I do it all the time! :)
how to use ND filter?
And holy shit the transparent paper is brilliant
It’s super fun! Give it a try
Doing the battery swap now doesn't work, their are nubs on the file that stop it from going in and activating now
Thanks, awesome hack for using iType film in SX70 or 600 cameras. I’m going to try on an old not in use 600 camera.
yes!!!
@@JustAnotherChris It works on the SX70 Sonar😊, however I could not get it into the SLR680 but that’s not a dealbreaker.

th-cam.com/video/5h1cKNQ6BVQ/w-d-xo.html check the description of this video. There should be a helpful link
would you be able to share the psd file of the filter? As i cant find any nd filters for sale to take a scan of
I found an easier way to load itype with the battery, just place the battery in first, then slide the itype pack in there, boom!

I was thinking the same thing

Phew... one try with the battery hack and my 680s internals break off at the bottom. The tape wasn't an issue, the thickness and stress was. Damn :'(
Thank you for your great video! Can I use the transparency paper on my Polaroid Now +?
Yes it will work on any polaroid camera
How do the indie filters work? Do they go above the pack of film? Like on top of the pack of film over the first protective slide?
They go on top of the film pack
@@JustAnotherChris thank you, im def gonna try to see what photos I can get with that kinda effect
Hey! I was thinking of trying out the transparency paper thing and was wondering if you need to cut it out the same size as the nd filter or if that was just something you decided to do; and if so do you have anywhere I could get the template?
I’m actually gonna do a dedicated video on this coming soon. But to get you by for right now yes it has to be the same size as an ND filter.
@@JustAnotherChris Thanks! Looking forward to it 😎
@@JustAnotherChris does this only work with the sx-70?
Yes it does
@@JustAnotherChris Did you make the video? I dont fully understand how you did that hehe.
So ir wouldnt work with a Polaroid now?
The clear paper hack its possible to make with the polaroid go?
I don’t see why not
It looks like one might be able use a black or dark t-shirt as a changing bag as long as you cover the collar and use it in a dark room.
Excellent idea!!
Why thank you!
someone is working on something called the „impossible drive“. Pretty simple stuff but super cool!
That sounds interesting. I will have to look that up

the mr.freeze clips was killing me LOL
I almost took them out in the final edit but I was like NAH!
I just found my SX-70 cameras, I had them in storage.
Well that’s great!
what are you actually doing with the transparent plastic? how did you put it in? whats happening
Did you watch all of the video before commenting?? 🤔
@@JustAnotherChris surprisingly, yes
those filters are... soooooo cool
Thanks!! You should make some!

Totally!! I left a link to the paper in the description
That is for this Chris!!
Wrap the photo in a towel before placing into the cooler so it’s insulated a bit and doesn’t reach lower temps.
Hell yah! Stranger things is my favorite show
Heck’s yeah!!!
Yo, do you know how to revive Polaroid 95’s?
I can’t find film for my Polaroid 95 anywhere
As far as I know unfortunately there is no film being made for this anymore
@@JustAnotherChris yeah, i was hoping to mcguyver some, but so far no luck lol
Super cool. Do you just sell these by chance lol 😂😅
No I don’t BUT I have a download template on a more recent video on the transparencies
these hacks are great! also I almost died at the April Fools day video .. I was like no effin way. ya got me lol thanx for the inspiration!
Haha yes!! I’m glad that video is still pulling people in 😂
Ha. I watched that a couple days ago. I'm currently watching this one waiting for it to be an April Fool's joke too.

Hell yeah foys in Fairborn ohio like 15 minutes from my house
It’s a fun place!
There’s no way I’m gonna do that with a pack of batteries
Great!
I'm going to use hot glue instead of tape.
Hmmmm just make sure you don’t get any on the inside of the camera.
Ol hel ya
