physically impossible lever is open from the time the muzzle leave down range to the time it aim back down range. which mean the action is open and the round is not chambered but simply floating around better chance of the round falling out or getting a stovepipe like loading failure then a detonation
that's why the flip rack is a move you only do with short barrel levers, you have to reach out to clear the long barrel, and the lever slips out your grip just like this I tried it once and now I realize I'm lucky I didn't break it
If ya wanna flip it u need a slightly bigger handle. Otherwise ya just jam ur fingers together awkwardly.......I learned the hard way too, but least I didn't drop it. Just almost broke a few fingers
Like in terminator 2, arnold has a special shotgun. But when he tried doing the same flipping-action with a un-modified shotgun he almost broke his hand. If you look closely the handle is way larger in the movie.

Same. The straight stocks are pretty uncommon they are called Texan models. I have a 336 Texan model in 30-30 -from 1971. Beautiful rifle. Marlins normally have the curved stock though so it's not that the straight stocks are original just a different older uncommon model. Infacr the original model 336 a and b from 1948 had curved stocks

This is what my dad used to always tell me is, if you really don't think you need to do it don't do it... Especially because it's not built for it in the first place. The rifles that people used to do that with on old westerns were stage props, not functioning rifles that people use for actual shooting.
That one must have been made when Remington took over marlin. They said they had stocks cracking left and right until Ruger bought the company and got good quality control.

Modern walnut and other woods are new growth which is sadly part of the reason why theyre so fragile compared to old growth stocks which still are holding up to this day pretty well

The barrels okay length for it, you need 18 or shorter looks like you got a guide version so an 18-in bull barrel. The trapper with the big loop is your best bet though. I have the SBL I can swing load that all day. Now I don't, because it's chambered in 4570 in that cartridge can kill anything that walks this earth and several things that don't anymore. It's a delete anything cartridge.

The new Marlin stuff doesnt use as good as wood as they did back in the day. If it broke from some falls on the soil then it'd break on your while shooting after a bit. Gives you the opportunity to get a really nice stock and count it as an early upgrade lol
