  • The thought of paying over $4.00 for diesel fuel has Ian and Jessi seeking a "green" alternative! The solution? We brew our own Biodiesel right in the Xtreme shop, showing viewers how they can save money, and do their part to help the environment at the same time. We'll take you through the entire process step by step. And in our event of the week, we go to one of the most xtreme events ever in Johnson Valley, California and their 50 mile rock / desert race known as "King of the Hammers".

    My friend Tyler and I visit hospitals and “acquire” the fat to make soap. We’re in a club, but we’re not supposed to talk about it. 😉

    *Spills potassium hydroxide all over the top of the drum/ground.
    "Now this is a great time to talk about safety when working with these chemicals".

    My diesel Audi gets 42 hwy mpg, and puts down 430 ft/lb from the factory. Sadly no longer sold in US.

    Yeah let's use heating elements in a plastic tank. Far easier to make biodiesel in a water heater tank. Safer too. I've been making biodiesel using hot water heater tanks since 2005.

      The fuel pump might not be able to handle it, i think they get lubricated by the fuel, and maybe it affects gaskets too

    • @apackadayrc7707
      @apackadayrc7707 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Bio diesel is vary inconsistent the high pressure fuel pump can clog up also the injectors clog
      You can modify your fuel system to run it
      Extra filters and a fuel heating system at least that's what I've been told lol

      The old idi diesels burn anything lol especially if you can get ahold of a old military injection pump

    5:37 - You wish! No restaurant has given away their waste oil for free for at least a decade. They know how to make money from junk, and you can dream about free used oil unless a friend or relative has a restaurant. If you use your concoction as it is - as you said - be prepared for a fuel filter exchange with every full tank from the greyish-white gunk at 6:47 or for even worse consequences.

    • @SoreTv
      @SoreTv 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I offer to change all of my family/friends oil for free or cheap, and just filter it a few times before I even put it in the tank. Plus put in some veggie or peanut oil, better injectors, boom!

    An even greener option would be Hydro-diesel since it contains 20% water.

    yea this is a great idea an all but most Restaurants Already has some one taking their oil some are even paying for the used oil Already Because this has Ben Going on for about a Decade At Least so Its Not any thing New ! I Tried To Get Oil about ten Years or so ago from some Local Restaurants & They Had People Paying them(The Restaurants) Already Years Ago...Their Is Just No Such Thing As Free As Soon as Some one can use Something Their will Always Be A Market For It so in Layman's terms that Means Some Body Wants Money ..if you could convince people to buy dog crap for a month you would see some one selling it..that is just the way it works ! But Still Very Cool But Investing hard cash for a fancy machine is just some one elses way of taking money from you to make their life better & Not Yours !

      You do know they charge us for diesel at the pump, right?

    • @kevinjnaquin11
      @kevinjnaquin11 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Even if you had to pay a restaurant $20 for 50 gallons. Would still be less than straight pump diesel by a lot. A friend of mine picks up from a restaurant and ended up becoming their regular oil pickup guy. Pays them $50 a month and gets 30-35 gallons a week. His “refinery” isn’t nearly as refined

    WJW. For many economic and human reasons, this video has aged...poorly. I usually don't agree with "video removal", but none of this content makes any sense these days--also RIP Jesse.
