- The Ford Bronco comes in quite a few flavors, but is it really necessary to have every bell and whistle? sometimes simpler can be better, and this base model makes a great case for itself.

Oh snap, Kratos is doing car reviews now!
God of War was getting a little messy. God of Cars seemed like a fun alternative.
Dealers sell a insulated 3 piece roof sound deadening kit for $300. It really helps.
Base/manual/Sasquatch/2door, is the perfect bronco
No disagreements here!
Just needs an engine upgrade
Great Work Jason
Well worth the wait!
I’ve got a ‘22 Bronco (Base), and this review pretty much sums it up…! Couldn’t have said it better myself.
PS - the 7MT is a real gem, and really key to unlocking much of what makes the Bronco so special.
Awesome! Thanks for the comment! Glad I was able to capture it well! I 100% agree, the 7MT transforms the driving experience.
I don't think the Bronco can be considered a "big 4,200-lb, heavy, rugged, truck". It's a small SUV... and pretty light.
I appreciated the back and forth views so the video doesn't get monotonous. Keep up the good work.
Thanks! Appreciate the kind words! Maybe there was a little bit of exaggeration, but we're talking about a body on frame vehicle, meant for off-roading, and it has a large presence, especially on the big Sasquatch tires. 4,200 lbs isn't heavy in the truck world, but when you think about what's available with a manual transmission, it's primarily smaller cars in the sub 3,300 lb or so range. So I just went into it expecting a heavier clutch and a tougher manual is all. I definitely get what you mean though. Thanks again for the comment!
I like that you have a Base 2 door with 2 car seats bc that’s pretty much exactly how I want to set my Bronco up when I get it! 🙌🏾 Great video 👍🏾
Nice! Glad I could help! I will say, it was kind of a pain strapping them in, but they fit OK and the 2-door is definitely the cooler look.
So if I came from a 2001 nissan xterra I should be super happy. I do find it funny everyone saying these broncos are heavy. My xterra is only 200lbs lighter 😆
For sure! Not necessarily heavy for a truck. Just heavy, generally speaking. Most cars with manual transmissions these days are a lot lighter is more what I meant ;)
@@GearboxCarReviews oh my xterra was manual too. It had low gears and maybe had 180hp lol.
Ha, I bet it got the job done though! Those are tough to come by. Cool you had a manual one!
How bout the ac/heat for rear passengers?
You mean like vents and/or controls? Or just how is the temperature regulation back there in general?
Temp regulation
@@MrTravis777 unfortunately I can't really speak to that. I was always the one driving. My kids never complained about the temp, but they generally don't. It's a pretty small space though. Wish I could give you a better answer.
Block heater is a must in the north since you can not get a remote start with the manual transmission. But that feature is only good if you’re home. That’s the one reason I would get the automatic transmission. I would be good with the 2.3 engine though.
You can probably get an aftermarket remote starter installed or you can always go out and start it up, but I get what you mean, it's definitely way more convenient with an automatic and a factory remote start. I was really surprised as how long it took to get up to temp, but I guess it makes sense as it's not super insulated.
@@GearboxCarReviews if you are aware of an aftermarket remote starter for this manual Bronco, PLEASE let me know! Ideally it would be able to start through your phone, but doesn't have to be.
Heated seats??
Not in the base trim IIRC. Though now the base has been dropped. Big Bend and above gets them.
Is the road noise too much?
It's a lot for sure. It's kind of par for the course for something affordable that you want to take off-road a lot, but if you're doing a lot of highway driving or something, it's pretty loud and I'd probably go with something else. It really kind of depends on your tolerance and what your other trade-offs and wants are. But TL;DR is, yeah it's very loud.
Its not a Truck.
Add a flowmaster exhaust and ford racing tune and you have an awesome bronco as I did. Love the 2 door manual.
tell me more about this "ford racing tune"
@eskimocheeks9911 I think it was about 800 bucks 3 years, 36,000 mile warranty, rev matching, and it opens up the 2.3 in ways I never thought
@eskimocheeks9911 also not sure what my 0 to 60 is but I know in sport mode it's a lot quicker.
very nice 😘
