    I had a red hot wire and a black hot wire coming from the wall how would I connect those wires. I have this same fan

    • @ceilingfans101
      @ceilingfans101  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The receiver can only be connected to one hot wire. Typically a red wire is a switch wire and the black house wire is the constant hot wire. If that is the case, you can connect the receiver's power wire to the house red OR black and cap off the other house wire not being used with a wire nut and electrical tape.

    Great video. Does this fan have an extra low speed setting?

    • @ceilingfans101
      @ceilingfans101  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The fan has a 5 speed motor, so it has 2 more speed options than a standard 3-speed fan.

    Box gives option to hang closer to ceiling without the downrod..would you know how that’s done?

    • @ceilingfans101
      @ceilingfans101  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The box only shows downrod and slope mounting options. That is shown 4 places on the packaging (main front panels and top panels). The top panel also has a dimensions chart that shows the assembled dimensions when installed in different ways. That chart shows downrod and slope options - the clos-to-ceiling option is marked NA because that option is not applicable. This fan can not be installed without a downrod.

    Is the canopy supposed to have a gap between the ceiling and the top of the canopy or is it supposed to sit flush?

    • @ceilingfans101
      @ceilingfans101  หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is supposed to be a gap to allow for the WiFi antenna to stick out.

    My old fan ran off 2 wall switches, one for the fan light and one for the fan itself. When removing the old fan I had a black, a white, a green, and a red wire. As far as I know the red wire goes to the wall switch that operates JUST the light. This new "smart" fan has no red wire, only a hub with 2 plugs (blue/white wires on one plug and brown, gray and black wires on the other plug). If I attach the red wire to the black wires I find that turning the light off from the wall switch turns the entire fan off. What are my options here? I want one switch to the the fan light and one wall switch to operate only the fan itself.

    • @ceilingfans101
      @ceilingfans101  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Due to the DC motor and the color temperature changing light kit, the only control option is the remote control. The only switch option would be one standard on/off toggle switch.

    I have two black, two white, two ground, and 1 red comming from home ceiling, should i connect one black, one white, two ground and just cover the red with tape or is it ok to connect 2 white, 2 black connect to receiver.

    • @ceilingfans101
      @ceilingfans101  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The connections would be dependent on what the black wires are. With two black wires and a red wire, it sounds like there may be 2 switch wires (1 black and one red) along with a constant power wire (one of the house black wires). In general, you would connect one white to one white and one black to one black and cap the other non-used wires. If you are not sure about the wiring, we would suggest calling a licensed electrician to ensure the proper wires are used.

    Can I wire this fan to two switches? One for the fan and one for a dimmer switch?

    • @ceilingfans101
      @ceilingfans101  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, due to the DC motor, smart features, and the color temperature changing light kit, this fan should only be installed and controlled with the included remote or the Hubspace app. This fan is not compatible with any alternate controls.

    Does the voltage matter when replacing an AC fan with a DC fan?

    • @ceilingfans101
      @ceilingfans101  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Both AC and DC motor ceiling fans use 120V circuits.

      We are sorry to hear that you are having that issue. We would suggest double checking the wiring is connected correctly. Sometimes, wiring can get loose or disconnect during the installation process. You can also re-pair your remote with the fan to see if that resolves the issue. If that doesn't fix it, we would suggest calling Home Decorators Collection customer service at 1-800-986-3460. Their team will be able to get more information to help troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

    Fan turns off by itself. It has a mind of it own. How can I get it to stop turning off. Very upsetting

    • @ceilingfans101
      @ceilingfans101  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sounds like there is an interfering signal in the area causing the random operation. This can be easily resolved by changing the frequency of the remote. Follow the instructions at the 17:50 mark " Pairing the Remote". If that does not resolve the issue, we would suggest calling Home Decorators Collection customer service at 1-800-986-3460. Their team will be able to get more information to help troubleshoot.

    Lost the qr code. How do I pair

    • @ceilingfans101
      @ceilingfans101  ปีที่แล้ว

      There should be a QR code on the receiver and also on the inside of the battery compartment cover of the remote. If you do not have the QR code, the fan can be added to the Hubspaec app using the option for setup without QR code. In the app, press the + button and then follow the instructions for set up without QR code.
