Installed this fan a few days ago. I had a red wire coming from the house and there is no red from the fan. What am I supposed to do with it? Also, the light flickers randomly when turned on. Any tips?
We are not electricians and must advise you to consult with an electrician if your house wiring is different from the instructions. That being said, a red wire is typically a switch wire. If that is the case, you could connect the receiver power wire to the red wire instead of the house black wire and cap the house black wire. That would allow you to turn the fan and light on/off. We don't recommend a switch for this fan due to the samrt features and the color temperature changing light kit. For the flickering issue, try to power cycle the fan/light by turning the power off at the breaker box for 10 seconds and then turning the power back on. If that does not resolve the issue, we would suggest calling Hampton Bay custoemr service at 1-855-434-2678. Their team is really good at troubleshooting over the phone.
You can buy a downrod at Home Depot or any of the other home improvement stores. This fan is compatible with any 3/4" diameter (inner diameter) threaded end downrod up to 48 inches in length.

At this point we would suggest calling Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-434-2678. They will be able to get more information to help troubleshoot.

No, this fan does not include a flush mount option and must be installed with a downrod.
