Dude this is dope. Only thing I’d think they could do differently is with big ships like the javelin, the jump and exit noise was a deeper version of the sound. Like a big loud BOOWWWOOOONG, like a sound that you know a jalevin just arrived and you can react accordingly by pooing your pants
Agreed - the exit sounds are too cutesy and 'squidgy'. Bigger = deeper sounds good. Maybe take inspiration from Elite Dangerous cap ships which emerge with a deep, foreboding and very powerful 'groaning' sound out of a sort of black cloud.
Just so we are clear this was done and shared by someone who did at one time work for cig. While it is very similar to what was demonstrated at citcon, this is simply a creative demonstration done by the individual and not a sample of the actual system.
Man I was thinking someone data mind the hell out of SC to get this, now I am left in the dark again of how it will really look jumping away and coming out of it. :D
Reminds me of a leviathan jump in Farscape, which is to say fking cool :D Only thing, when a capital class ship arrives in the middle of a battle everyone should notice, that is something elite dangerous got insanely right. The slow exit out of quantum for capital ships in that game is next level cool as hell. Also, the exit needs a lot more LFE base sounds.
The animation for that quantum projectile thing that opens the wormhole really reminds me of the flares the troopers fire in Final Fantasy Spirits Within that make the ghosts visible.
Can people go and watch the quantum segment at Citcon again? Too many people complaining about having to stear for the entire quantum duration when it's not even a thing. A couple of seconds at most until the bubble stabilises. In other news, I'm so hyped for the quantum boost!
I would like it almost silent. There would be no sound, except the humming of the machines within the ship. That beam shooting forwards makes also little sense. The Ship isn't going through a portal, it's compressing the space in front and extends it behind. I really like that bubble though!
From what I understand the engines are for sublight only and unrelated to Quantum travel (though QT is also technically sublight but still much faster), the only thing the engines do before travel really is turn off, but it's more the surface of the ship that interacts with the quantum vortex, which is probably why the shields have to be off
@@explorer47422 Lore wise it's the opposite. The Engines start burning Quantum fuel, so that suggestion would really make sense. It could also light up in a third colour for jumps.
I like aspects of this, but there was more color in the old QT tunnel effects. I also think the little light ball that gets shot out the front of the ship at the beginning looks kind of hokey and seems to come from nowhere.
I don't like how it appears you have to be stationary for quantum travel. Also some of the sounds are a bit meh, but other than that it looks pretty dope.
it wont top the elite dangerous capital vessel hyperdrive jump imo. or the capital class signature detected but there really isnt any sound in space so..
well. i have seen people not being to keen on the liquid bubble effect around the ship during travel. i am on the wait and see what they will end up with train.
On the surface, these effects seem very flashy, glowing bubbles around the ship, shooting beams and blue portals. It all feels a bit too 'gamey', especially with the Simon-says looking mechanic during quantum, but perhaps that's more a problem with the UI than the mode of travel and keeping yourself stable in the quantum bubble. Exiting quantum looks very cool though, I don't know how I feel about the portal and shooting forwards when entering. The sound effects are awful, but I'd imagine these are just placeholders. Sometimes less is more.
Why, in the end, as seen in the Star Engine, is there no bass when disengaging the quantum drive? It was much better before.. But it looks really good!
This footage is from last year(2022). They have done more work on it, so whatever version of QT you saw in the SQ42 video as well as Star Engine demo is the final version.
Oh TG, I thought we were going to have to fight that the whole run! I can see it being good for preventing people who have heavily damaged ships from getting away. Though sadly Id be the guy with the damaged ship.. Also how is that going to work with the SRV. Moving that thing wile towing a hammerhead is not what Id call super maneuverable.............
I really don't like the sound effects. Sound like toys and not like giant singularities in space (i know sound in vacuum...). Just how i feel about it. The should really look into the sound design in ED, the really did a good job on the sound design and translation of size to sound. Also i heard from some people, that the flickering style of the new quantum was kind of painful for some people, who are photo sensitive.
It comes from Rory Payton's channel. He is/was a CIG employee. Also, this footage is from last year, they showed the updated visuals of QT during the flight panel of this year's CitCon
This is looking phenominal! And to think this footage was from a few months back! the audio and visual quality on release will be far more polished and will sound and look amazing! Imagine wearing headphones and playing this in 4k....... with a full multi crewed ship. No other game will come close to this. Plus the game isnt mainstream and ppl are paying money for star field lol
It is real, and this is old info, it's not leaks. They already showed the new QT visuals during the flight panel & in the Squadron 42 I Held The Line video
Looks like they're traveling through water. Thats what space is. Thats why most games and movies call their military space forces Navys. Fleets and such.
if they do this i'm not going to play this, i need to be able to watch something while playing because that's how boring this game is when it comes to traveling
@robingood21century You could have literally just put his name in the description it wouldn't have been hard at all. Makes it look like you're the one leaking the video which is cringe as hell bro.
@@novarexus64 these video leaks has at least 6 people in TH-cam. There are no information about source of video at all. but the devs said that the sounds and effects are only temporary
The sounds were not created by the sound team and are only placeholders. Lets hope they make it sound juicy

The exiting sound effect needs more "oomph". When a capital class ship exits Quantum the sound should strike fear into everyone in the vicinity.
These sounds were made by someone not on the sound team, so they're totally placeholder.
@@Meister_Dwightsorry to ask but, how did you know ?
Love the effects.. except maybe for the ball of energy that gets fired off from the nose, I feel the effect for that could use a little work.
This looks incredible. I like how the ship pulses and appears to fire off a ball of energy that creates the quantum tunnel.
