The square outlines on the minimal are other players. The filled squares are bots. And yes, the universe is so massive that you don't constantly see hundreds of other players. But certain regions you're bound to find at least a few players.

@@coolkavish the problem is not "can we meet here?" but, even if you are at the exact same station, there is a chance you can even see anyone unless you are in the same instance. yes elite only have 1 server (may be... idk?), but its not like everyone is in the exact same "room". ED needs to divide all player in the same server into several different "rooms" or instances. i even had a moment where i wing up with 2 of my friend, went into the same station, but i can only see 1 of my friend but not the other one, not even in my radar or contact list. until we went supercruise, then the other friend of mine finally shows up.
Imagine what it would look like seeing them enter! It's like watching your fleet of 500+ ships in Sins warp in all at once, it just looks so dope. Reminds me of "The Fleet Arrives" from Mass Effect 3, just such a powerful moment.

best mass jump imo, should have waited like 1.5 sec for the carrier to open the hyperspace portal then jump, but very very satisfying the way it is now.

This is untrue. Light is not fast in comparison to interstellar travel. There’s light speed travel in this game, and it accurately does not appear to change your skybox at all, and will hardly show movement on far away celestial bodies
I’m not really on point of how the game creators explained it, but if I’m not wrong they explained it as if the FTL engine boost a space around your ship, and not the ship itself this way the pilot is still able to navigate and understand what’s happening, also the distances are massive so relatively its like driving a car at a highway
@@abylaisartay8733 Yes the FSD compresses spacetime around your ship, so you never actually travel faster than light, but you still see things as if you were. Lightspeed in-game and in real life look/would look the exact same as sitting stationary when looking at distant stars
