Unlocking the engineers didn't bother me. It was all play the game stuff. The required materials to perform upgrades? That enraged me.
Yes, it should be reconstructed around some kind of dynamic mission for the engineer. I don't mind some of the prereqs, like you must be an experienced combat pilot to talk to me, but the rest is nonsense. Once you've unlocked a recipe, it should be available for a modest cost and no materials (and no random number generator!)
Engineers in game: "I am a master of mass, professor of physics, the Thane of Thrust, ALL come to me seeking KNOWLEDGE!"
These "Engineers" in real life: "Right so I've improved thrust by 20% over factory. It now uses 35% more fuel and the service life is measured in weeks rather than years. Have fun, bro."

Sensor fragments "might" sound like something needed if we roleplay hard enough.. but if i remember correctly, one engineer asked for some kind of ale and another for tea 🤷🏻♂️

I mean, a few houses down the street lives a guy who will do minor engine work on your car in his garage for a 6 pack so that tracks...

@@Youda00008That one is easy... Its a scam. People trade high grade very expensive materials for lower grade shit they need. Forexample trading ruthenium for mercury and such.
@@Tamamo-no-Bae I mean, if the trader just exchanges materials for more materials, he just has crap ton of materials and no money. If he sells them for money, then where can i buy them?

Ok, this video doesn’t have the mass appeal Gangnam Style. But, as an ED player who remembers the pain of staring out in the game, this is a likable video.

The pick of the number "24" for the Sensor Fragments was a nice touch. the fact that you only get them in drops of 3 so you'll have 2 units left over is very ED (as in "Special ED")

Teeny tip, imho, u could for sure make the bg a bit sharper to make it seem more real (i realise u blurred on purpose but too much... the bg in the outro looked more like you were there!)

@@Mile13Gaming😀 Think about it though, we travel all over the galaxy, risking our lives to earn credits, and the only thing we actually need credits for is to buy a new ship?? What the heck do I need a dozen ships for? I can only fly one at a time. I have my Krait Phantom, and a little over 2 billion credits now. The only "goal" left for me is get a fleet carrier. Give us something useful to spend our credits on - like engineering mods without the engineers! o7

That's about a million people according to FDEV. Every video about ED has comment like this- they go hand in hand.
@@paulkeith9680 so dead. If that's all that remains under their most generous metric, which obviously includes anyone who's logged in for 1 minute, the game is basically end of life. RIP. Meanwhile, more neutral sources like steam charts shows the game barely getting past 3k players average each month. A historic all time low and the kiss of dead for this ancient game.

And that sums up elite dangerous, pointless objectives that serve no other purpose other than to waste away brain cells.
I mean, this part is kind of silly, but overall, Elite is an amazing game. One of my all-time faves.
Playing any game is a pastime for most- objectives are those you set yourself. Otherwise there are missions boards for inspiration
