Following the crumbs? Looks more like tasting the icing! You ladies have the brightest future ahead. The both of you have such confidence and knowledge of fishing thank you for sharing
Thank you guys for bringing some class and professionalism to fishing instead of being thirsty thirstbuckets like a lot of other youtubers. You got a new sub.
Super happy I found your channel. My 4 year old loves watching you two. I truly appreciate that she has ladies like you two to look up to. Thank you so much for being who you guys are. May the wind be always upon your backs and the sun upon your faces.
I have shared this video with my friends. I Love all your videos. We have three fishing trips booked on Sept 24th, Oct 17th and Nov 5th. We're heading out 20 miles north of Trinidad (located in the South Caribbean) near the Oil Rigs to target Mahi Mahi on live bait and big snappers and groupers on Deep Drop banking (bet 400-600 feet). Its a Long trip. We normally troll 5 1/4" - 6 1/2" deep divers and have luck with King fish, Spanish Mackerel, Trevally, Bonito and other Pelagics. We're hoping to get some Wahoo though so we need to troll deeper. No one on out crew have ever tried the Planer. So, Definitely getting myself one and rigging up EXACTLY as you have shown. This video is the most simplistic and efficient I have seen in my research on how to rig them. The others I've seen all require you to hand line the leader in after the planer is retrieved. You girls are great, Thank you for sharing in clear, concise and detail of hot to set up and use the rigs. BTW...you're Both SOOOOOOOOOOOO Cute, makes watching even more interesting!!!!
Love it. That's the way we did it off Guam....but we didn't tell anyone. Mahi-mahi, Wahoo (my favorite) and even had a blue marlin on a similar rig. We had a fisherman's co-op back then and sold our catch to pay for gas so it was more work than sport. Now that I've relocated to south Georgia from overseas, I'm looking forward to getting back offshore. Equipment sure has changed though $$$
Excellent video and very well explained Just got my set up at west marine Pinecrest miami I can’t wait to out with my son in law and fish with the planer Thanks
*I bought these and used them at the river where I get snags often they have done a **enjoyable.fishing** recommend great job of not breaking along with some strong line I purchased as well. They are super durable and easy to use.*
I just discovered your channel a week ago and WOW!! I’m super impressed with your knowledge and just plain being a great ambassador of the sport! I’m also gonna be taking the captains course up here in the east central Florida area in a couple months and your videos on that topic, actually how I discovered your channel, have helped me prep for that as well. You guys are awesome!!!
Heh guys, just watched your video on planer fishing. Here in northern (tropical) Australia we target many of the same species as in southern USA. A big THANK YOU for this clear video which explains step by step with clear communication - great to see. I fish with downriggers sometimes for pelagic fish down deep but geez it can get complicated, not to mention losing downrigger weights on reef structures! Planers are next up to try.
Very informative and detailed video. Trying to learn as much as possible as a new saltwater fishing novice here. Enjoy these tackle breakdown videos. Thanks!
Great video---helped us set up for off of Marco Island! I have already caught a nice 60 lb Wahoo last season, now--we want more!! Will be using your planer set up!!
Great video. I used planers a great deal fishing out of Ponce Inlet growing up but stopped using the technique until recently. You instruction is great and the technique works great in the Lower Key too.
Awesome fishing Emily, Amanda. Everytime I watch one of your videos, I end up with another piece of tackle, this time it was a spool of 30# fluoro. Keep up the good fishing, and good luck with the charters!
Amanda, Emily so much Knowledge you young captains have , I so proud of you guys ,I love your videos and save them for reference, be safe and enjoy life always. #AFANALWAYS
thanks kids just picked up a planer kit, its interesting you are using a #4, the captain I was talking to is using #12s and much heavier bent handle rods for wahoo. I'm going to start small and target spanish and kings and may some black fin. Dont have the money yet for the fancy gear. Peace out.
Love this video, always wanted to learn how to use a planer. Love how simple you explained it. Next thing is to subscribe, yeah! Now I am a fan of Gale Force Fishing team!
Great video ladies... I'm a new boat owner going through my first south florida winter fishing season and this really helps figure out the right gear and set up to get me first wahoooooo! Ty! Wish me luck!
where were u girls when i was growing up ,your special enjoy all your videos im learning fishing from u still, keep it up looking forward for more thanks franco
Great video! Thanks for the tips. Don't know if anyone uses planers in Hawaii, but we got a lot of tricks. We use jet heads, rapalas and live opelu [ mackeral scad eg. speedos] for ono [wahoo]. Saw planers used on salmon on tv. Seem like a good technique. Tightlines.
The video i was searching for days. Im from Philippines and im slowly introducing rod and reel to my friends. I just want to reel all the line and not do the handlining. Your video just solved my problem. I love you guys. Fish on and keep safe.
I am new to your channel and on the left coast, waayyy left. I am really impressed with your knowledge and the way you share it. I will use what I have learned from you here and hopefully increase my fish catch. Thank you 🙏
Awesome video, and by far the best on planer rigging. One question for anyone who knows - why Bimini twist from the braid mainline to the swivel? And...how, since that’s a loop connection?
Thank you for taking the time to explain planer fishing. I’ve always looked at the planer buried in my tackle box the way I look at an algebraic equation 🥴. I eventually threw it away. Can’t wait to put your instruction into practice! Fair winds and following seas Captains 🌊
Hi! My fiancee and I are enjoying your videos and are learning a lot. We were wondering what knot are you using to tie your 80lb braid with bimini twist to your bridle wind-on swivel and what knot to tie your 200lb braid bridlw to your wind-on swivel? Keep up the great work!
amazing explanation .. in Egypt we are not familiar with planners .. we use diving boards .. personally I prefer planers .. to dive a diving board we should go faster which is not the case in planners for that reason I prefer them .. my main concern on the detaching techniques of the planner is that I don't like that the swivel to have a rough contact with the guides of the rod when I retrieve it inside the reel so I leave the planner inside the main line and I pull the 100 feet with my bare hands .. you should try fishing the red sea .. you will be amazed .. 😊
Hi Ladies. I can't tell you how much I enjoy your channel. I learn so much sometimes I watch the same video over and over because there is so much content there. I do I have one question though....Why do you use a Bimini Twist before the brindle? It would seem so much easier just to use the brindle attached directly to the swivel without the Bimini. Basically, what is it's purpose? And BTW...how do you attach the swivel to the Bimini? Thank you so much!
I like your style, super informative and structured. I watch so many of your video, I can now identify Emily or Amanda just by your voice. LOL. I'm coming from a makerel jigging with mono, without rod from Canadian north Atlantic to trolling out the Hillsborough inlet, lots to learn! Question: I should buy rod and reel just for planner with braided+planner+mono or I can have a rod that I can add or remove the planer line weather I use planer or troll bionic ballyhoo or lure on the surface.
I can’t believe 2 young women showed me how to planer board fish. Awesome. And they shop at the Rodfather’s. Thanks girls!
finally people that not only show their tackle but explain the reasoning behind it!
Of course!! Thanks for watching 😊 what’s the point in sharing if people don’t understand how to use it?

@@GaleForceTwins I'm currently looking for a boat to shadow in the lower keys. Do you know a good marina I should check out?

So once again I learned new technique on how to reset the planer after it's been tripped. Probably the most informative fishing show in media.
That’s awesome!! We are glad you found our video helpful! Thanks for watching 😊🐟
Killed it, I'll probably show this to customers when they have questions about running planers

Hey I’m new to the channel. Looking to learn as much as I can about trolling. Thanks for the detailed planer vid!
Thanks!! I’ve had no clue how to use it this way. I’ve been doing it wrong for years.
excellent!

Good video! I’m going to rig this and try it out.
Awesome video, and by far the best on planer rigging. One question for anyone who knows - why Bimini twist from the braid mainline to the swivel? And...how, since that’s a loop connection?
You don't need a Bimini twist or any twist. Totally not necessary and just creates another weak point in the line.
Awesome video ladies. A++++++++++++++++
great instructional vid can you do this on your owllike take out the bridle yourself if you are fishing on your own?
Thank you for taking the time to explain planer fishing. I’ve always looked at the planer buried in my tackle box the way I look at an algebraic equation 🥴. I eventually threw it away. Can’t wait to put your instruction into practice! Fair winds and following seas Captains 🌊
very useful info.
but I prefer to use rapala hard lure for trolling

Hi! My fiancee and I are enjoying your videos and are learning a lot. We were wondering what knot are you using to tie your 80lb braid with bimini twist to your bridle wind-on swivel and what knot to tie your 200lb braid bridlw to your wind-on swivel? Keep up the great work!
Braid - uni - bridle - uni - wind on - double uni or blood knot - leader
Does that make sense?
Nice just starting to use planers it seems odd pulling the last 100' in by hand. Thank you! Well Done!
Thanks for watching!
Great video
