    Ethiopia is such a fascinating country. I am from neighboring Kenya and have been to Southern Ethiopia (Moyale). I plan to visit the hinterland (particularly the Semien mountains region) in the near future. I have Ethiopian friends and I can say they are some of the most sincere people around. Africans should be proud and uplift each other at every opportunity. Viva Ethiopia!

    I don't know why people are arguing about in this comment section, everytime I watch a video about what africans accomplished there are people fighting. Can we just enjoy, it doesn't happen that often that we hear good stuff about africa which is sad.
    Ethiopia is a holy blesses land. And I am not ethiopian, I'm from west africa we should celebrate what we have accomplished seperatly and together, when one african country wins a battle we all win it, because we have the same stuggles. Peace

      +Goldniz you haven't figured it out yet? People HATE....... H A T E!!!!!! to hear, see, acknowledge anything black that has anything to do with anything positive. "they" hate to hear about schools, they hate to hear about language, they hate to hear about culture, they hate to think that anyone or anything black has done anything contrary to the miseducation system here in the US. This has been for centuries...Anglo's travelled to Africa and destroyed structures and buildings, stole gold and artifacts hoping to find someone with light skin. Im sorry you have discovered this pattern but it is a pattern that plays out here in the US. Anytime African Americans build something, accomplish something, invent something, get organized....."they" are there to demean, belittle, destroy, mock, and discredit. and no "they" are not "haters"....It's naïve to think this is not a pattern perpetrated by a specific people. It's also naïve to think only one people has built what we have today. It's just institutionalized ignorance. You can go to any pro black -education, -organization, -history...you name it and you will find them. Arguing, mocking, gnashing, hurling racial epitaphs. Sick....Sad....Sorry!

    I have been to Ethiopia and their are many people with royal behavior. it makes good sense to know something about a people who know who they are. westerners have no basis for criticizing Ethiopians. most can only speak a white mans language with little knowledge of how they are African. All black people are African, thanks for the images of the Motherland.

      Orthodox faith is intentionally ignored in the West, mostly because is perceved as the religion of Russia. Nowadays Orthodox countries are: Greece, Russia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Cyprus, Montenegro, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, partially Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Georgia and Armenia have their own churches mostly considered Orthodox. The thing is that Vatican has quite an subversive agressive atitude ever since Christianity was divided, always trying to convert as much as possible and diminish Orthodoxy. For instance, WWI started because Vatican was doing its best to prevent Serbia from getting to the sea affraid Serbia could become ally of Russia and allow them to bring their naval fleet to the Adriatic sea, right in the back of Italy. That is why Austro-Hungary occupied Bosnia-Herzegovina and their prince was shot and WWI started. Before that, Serbian troops were welcomed at the port of Durres by locals, but the great powers, again with Vatican behind, ordered Serbia to leave the coast and instead obtain more territory inlands in Macedonia, thus creating the "Macedonian question". Then, when this Orthodox Christian kingdoms were liberating themselves from the Ottoman Empire, it became clear Ottomans would loose Istambul (Constantinople) and since that would have meant the renewal of the Bizantine kingdom, western powers missalowed Bulgarian, Serbian, Greek and Russian (all Orthodox) troops to liberate Istambul, and preffered to leave that historical Christian city in Turkish hands (ironic huh?) Its hard to see that Western Christian powers always favoured Turkey against Orthodox countries.

    Such a rich history. Great documentary and well narrated. Hoping to visit one day all these historical sites. I was a bit skeptical of our history but this documentary has changed my perception. I'm pretty sure this historian could also do some extension of this documentary up to the north, Eritrea to connect the missing dots. There's also some ancient ports like Zula and Adulis the main outlets to the outside world and trade. Also, there are some mini obelisks similar to those in Aksum in Kohaito of Eritrea not to far off from the boarder with Ethiopia. Great job bro. ✌from Eritrea

      Well.. Yes and no. The ancients reference "Ethiopia" meant "Land or the Burned Face." So the ancients were referring to The lands to the east and/or south of Egypt... they meant ALL of it. So "Ethiopia" in their language would refer roughly to Africa. But Ethiopia was a Greek name not a African one. The Africans did not call themselves Ethiopians or their land "Ethiopia" until the modern era. The name Ethiopia in modern times is used only to describe eastern region previously known as Abyssinia. So it's a question of if you mean Ethiopia (Ancient usage) or Ethiopia (modern country) which are two different things.

    Great video and a true historical analysis of mystical Ethiopian by the host. Just one correction: Actually according to the 13 century Golden Book, King Egippus of Ethiopia in 34AD was the first Ethiopian Christian King and ruled Ethiopia from the city of Nadaber, Ethiopia and not king Ezana of Ethiopia which is much later in 320AD as said here. That is a difference of 300 years. According to the Holy Bible (Book of Acts 8:26-40), the first Ethiopian Orthodox Christian was the Ethiopian Eunuch - the Royal Treasurer of the Queen Candace of Ethiopia who went to Jerusalem like his ancestors (Queen Sheba) in order to worship God. Proud to be Ethiopian. May Almighty God bless ETHIOPIA! May God bless our people - ETHIOPIANS both at home and abroad forever!

    • @thelastshallbefirst6531
      @thelastshallbefirst6531 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alexander correct. Just for clarification, Christianity became an institution in 300AD. But the Christian Faith started with the Messiah and his followers. Hence why *Christianity* as an institution, but not a faith gets the recognition. As for Queen Candace, that would be present day Sudan. Due to word play a lot of the history within the horn of Africa and Egypt overlaps greatly. Takes some serious study to look beyond the present day geopolitical borders established by the 4th world kingdom from the reign tof Babylon to now.

It such a relief to see that you narrated and demonstrated that we can cover our own too. Rastafari Bless. Thanks a million.

      HI, THE FACT THAT THE WHITE PEOPLE THAT CAME TO AFRICA AND SAW THIS AND OTHER BEAUTIFUL BUILDINGS OF PAST KINGDOM AND DID NOT APPRECIATE THEM OR IF THEY DID SEE THE BEAUTY OF THEM, DID NOT TALK ABOUT IT TO JUSTIFY TO OTHER WHITE PEOPLE THAT THEY WERE NOT DEPRIVING BUT CIVILISING AFRICA SHOWS THAT OR
      1) IF THEY BELIEVE THEMSELVES TO BE SUPERIOR, THEIR PRIDE BLINDED THEM AND JUST LIKE LITTLE ANIMALS, COULD NOT APPRECIATE THE BEAUTY NOR THE IMPORTANCE OF BEAUTIFUL BUILDING AND OF THE REMAIN OF A VERY ANCIENT WORLD, THEREFORE. That would be a sin of PRIDE. The kind of sin that opens the doors of the soul to the devils, because then the devil of selfishness, of selfentitlement and of greed have already both feet in to a man's soul and from within they erode your him and he starts to expoit those whom he knows are weaker than him and these devils make their victims like themselves, he takes on their traits, fit for hell fire. Belive me is the most horrible thing , the wrath of the Lord our God is terrible. You need not to be angry. That anger only causes you to suffer and to have like a circling feeling of hatred and sometimes you manage to tame it and sometimes you just don't manage to tame it. Especially if you meet another person that has a short fuse, which in turn is caused by a similar constant anger cicle as the one that afflicts you. And then the risk that you might say or do something very stupid for which not only there are consequences in the near future, but if the Allmighty gives you the grace of repenting, then you learn to forgive and when you learn to forgive you look back and you regreat tremendously the bad things that you did. This is a repentance that comes for sorrow and you suffer in such sorrow of repentance when you have learned to love your enemy. Is not easy for us sinners human beings to love our enemy and indeed most of us try but do not manage. They do not manage unless they ask it of God. Say "My Jesus my God my Lord, son of God , have mercy of me because I am a sinner I tried to love those who hate me but I never managed! Please teach me, give me a hart of flesh make me love my brothrers and sisters as you want us to do.
      i asked many things to God and sooner or later I got them. They were things for my spirit, but I also asked other more material things and He in his mercy gave them to me always when I least expected it. If you ask a gift for the spirit, the Allmighty will not deny it to you. Do not be proud, if God loves you and you keep a stiff neck he will forge you with love but with a bit of stick also as you would do to a norty child that keeps getting away from you and crossing the road without looking left and right and without waiting for you, because you love him. Think of how things are forged and you know that God also punishes us therefore ask for the right things because He knows of every little injustice, every little tiny sin every wrong every bad thought Nothing eludes Him. You neeed not be angry with these white supremacist lot because God is already from well before you were born.
      2) IF THEY KNOW AND APPRECIATE THE IMPORTANCE OF THESE ANCIENT BUILDING AND CIVILISATION AND COVER IT UP THEN THEY HAVE THE EVILS OF SELISHNESS GREED COWARDY GREED VIOLENCE AND HYPOCRICY. SUFFICES TO SAY THAT NOT EVEN CHRIST THE LORD LIKED HIPOCRITES. When Our Lord Jesus spoke of hypocrites also spoke of the sins against the Spirit ( of the Lord) and said that the sins against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

    Thank you for this great video! I visited Ethiopia 16 years ago and just loved it. And yes, it's history and culture deserve to be better known.
