Doesn't matter if there are errors in parts of the documentary, the presenter never purports to claim it is a scientific fact finding mission. As an Ethiopian, I found this documentary to be one of the best told accounts of an outsider's perspective on the historical, cultural, and spiritual importance of Christianity to the Ethiopian people.

My homeland, Ethiopia, remains enigmatic within this world. It continues to be a place of immense religious significance, boasting a rich heritage in ancient Christianity and a culture steeped in tradition. Its industrious population should not be judged solely by the values of materialism prevalent in today's society. Ethiopia unravels as an absolute mystery, deserving deep exploration.

Every Tewahdo church in Ethiopia and Eritrea must have a Tabot, a tablet containing the Ten Commandments that Mosses received from God. Essentially a copy of the original Tabot or tablet. Each church is also named to a patron saint. During the once a year celebration of the patron saint, the tablet is taken out of the sacred altar for a special tour around the church. It’s covered and is carried by a priest, followed by priests and the faithful. The tour is to remind the faithful that they are ruled by the Ten Commandments, God’s law.

Well, I'm 'liking' this because of the easy pilgrimage we were just able to do, and being able to see Ethiopia and to meet the people at least in a small way, but not for "finding the Ark", which he clearly was not able to do. Nor for the comments about myth and faith. Something is either true or false. The Christian faith is about believing in something, because it is true, not because you want some kind of mystical wishing that it is true.
God gave His only Son so that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. If we believe in a lie, we suffer the failure of that in which we believe. If we believe a truth, we gain the benefit of having put our faith, our trust, our belief and our action into and in support and proof of our belief, which will succeed, because of its reality and truth.

    9:30 Correction #01:
The excerpt, " ... when king Lalibela died God ordered him back to earth to carve the churches ...", is not true. King and Saint Lalibela built all the churches before he died. It's believed that (with the help of angels) it took him 21 years to complete the entire work.
    10:43 Correction #02:
The excerpt "... the Ethiopian's believe that somewhere hidden behind these curtains is an object handed to Mosses by God. It's the Ark of the Covenant. ... All over Ethiopia hundreds of churches claimed to possess it. It might be here. It might be elsewhere ..." has to be corrected. Every Orthodox Church in Ethiopia has its own replica of the Ark of the Covenant - not the Original. Ethiopians believe the original Ark of Covenant is found at St. Mary of Zion church in Tigray, northern Ethiopia. Anyone interested, please read Graham Hancock’s book 'The Sign and the Seal'.
    21:10 and 23:25 Correction #03:

Dear David you are lost not the Ark of Covenant I understand that you don’t have full information about Ethiopia and probably you might have decided to go to Ethiopia on of a sudden with out having consulted the great Ethiopian Nibure Id Ermias Kebede books or like Graham Hancock books or other literatures about Ethiopian Christianity. The secrete of Ethiopia is not simple as you might have thought when you decided to go to search the Ark of Covenant in to the Holly Land . Yes indeed the Ark of Covenant is in Ethiopia but let alone for you a simple visitor ( I can’t say you are a historian anyways) the grate Ethiopian Kings and Queen Victoria or other never saw the Ark of the covenant. As those Monks told you it is in Ethiopia under protection by the Holly Monks and God Himself eye .

My friend the Ark has no power without the presence of God over it. . . It amazes me how you think the Ark could just do it on its own if someone found it. . .Ron Wyatt showed us all how no one unwanted by God could ever get near it anyway, and six men actually died trying. . .There will never be a third temple built on the Temple Mount, God has seen to that. The new Temple of God is already there now, and has been since Ron Wyatt found it January 6th 1982. . . But where is the proof you say? ? ?. . . You do not belong with the rest of us if this is how you think to start with.

    • @daveberry5901
      @daveberry5901 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Listen I know the whole deal with Ethiopia, what Graham Hancock said and all this other stuff. . . Bottom line, its not there period. . . Its under Golgotha where Ron Wyatt found it and the Israeli Government knows this. They are terrified of not only its discovery but the fact the blood of Jesus Christ is on the most Holy object in the world and it was them who crucified him ect ect ect. . . . Everything I have told matches with the Bible.

2 Maccabees 2:1-8 tells us Jeremiah hid the Ark on the Mount where Moses went up.
      2 Maccabees 2:1-8 KJVA
[1] It is also found in the records, that Jeremy the prophet commanded them that were carried away to take of the fire, as it hath been signified:
[2] And how that the prophet, having given them the law, charged them not to forget the commandments of the Lord, and that they should not err in their minds, when they see images of silver and gold, with their ornaments.
[3] And with other such speeches exhorted he them, that the law should not depart from their hearts.
[4] It was also contained in the same writing, that the prophet, being warned of God, commanded the tabernacle and the ark to go with him, as he went forth into the mountain, where Moses climbed up, and saw the heritage of God.
[5] And when Jeremy came thither, he found an hollow cave, wherein he laid the tabernacle, and the ark, and the altar of incense, and so stopped the door.
[6] And some of those that followed him came to mark the way, but they could not find it.
[7] Which when Jeremy perceived, he blamed them, saying, As for that place, it shall be unknown until the time that God gather his people again together, and receive them unto mercy.
[8] Then shall the Lord shew them these things, and the glory of the Lord shall appear, and the cloud also, as it was shewed under Moses, and as when Solomon desired that the place might be honourably sanctified.

@@daveberry5901 Anyone who believes Ron Wyatt has not done their homework. The Bible tells us to test all things. That story Ron Wyatt told is a 200 year old monks story to attract tourists. Read Hebrews and understand the real ark is in Heaven where Christ Ministers as our High Priest where John saw it in vision in Rev 11:19. Everything Wyatt claims to have found is all false. I have checked it out since 1998. None of what he claimed can be substantiated, Red Sea Crossing, Noah's Ark, Ark of the Covenant etc... He was supported by one this world's greatest liars in Jonathon Gray. Please I beg you do you homework. I have a large amount of material to show him wrong. If you type:
“Ron Wyatt” fake in a Google Search you will find all the evidence you need. I had another, Ross Patterson from New Zealand, also pushing Wyatt's stuff and I had an afternoon with him on some of the topics. I proved to him beyond any doubt Wyatt was a fake along with Jonathon Gray, a defrocked SDA minister. If you take you Bible and follow the Israelites out of Goshen in Egypt to the Red Sea (which can also be translated Reed Sea) they arrived ta the Red/ Reed Sea on the 4th day and crossed it on the 5th Day. This means Wyatt had them crossing on the wrong side of the Peninsula. To cross where Wyatt claims would have taken several weeks to get there at best because of the mountainous and rough terrain in that region. This Patterson had no explanation. This is just one point that is so glaring in its error by Wyatt that one would have to believe in fairy tales to believe Wyatt, Gray or Patterson. I am a Bible believing Christian and I need to do what the Bible says 1 Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
Needless to say I could continue but it would be too long here.
