They performed that song in a "sneak preview" at one of their so called "living room concerts" on Nov12th in their hometown. We were so stunned! Hansi was complaining all the time about the setlist. He was moaning that Andre and Markus were trying to destroy his voice because they chose a lot of the old songs. It was an awesome night!

What do you mean by nobody wants to see you break down every single tech you see in this video?
I would argue that a lot of your (regular) viewers would totally want to see you break down everything, even if your video would be an hour long.

I’m really glad that you’ve been listening to and enjoy Blind Guardian’s music ever since your reaction to The Bard’s Song and Valhalla. I was really happy to see you mention in your reply to my comment that you had recorded a reaction to this song, and I’m so glad that you like this song as much as I do. In this particular song, I like how most of it is done in the speed/thrash style from their early music but they also put in some music reminiscent of their more progressive music from Nightfall in Middle-Earth onward. While I like the orchestral songs they’ve done (such as Wheel of Time and a good deal of songs from their Beyond the Red Mirror album), sometimes I just want to hear the relatively simpler speed songs such as Traveler in Time and Deliver Us From Evil, and I’m really happy that they’re still writing songs with that style. For me, Deliver Us From Evil combines the best elements of a Blind Guardian song, and I’ve had this song on repeat for quite a while now. This is getting me very excited for their next album!
Great reaction, Tank! I hope this video will turn out more Blind Guardian fans! 🤘

    Dear Tank,
I have just recently discovered you throught the Escimo Callboy reaction on your reaction to their work. I loved how much pure fun you have had with their music as well as production values and also that you seem to be such a friendly and honest guy. Since then I worked myself backwards throught your videos and am proven that I was right about that.
It may sound silly, but when I saw your first video on Blind Guardian I so hoped you would enjoy them and it would resonate with you, since they are my favorite band from when I was eight years old to in my mid-thirties now, even though i'm not that much into their newer albums. And man was I happy when you took of your cap and headbanged! :D
Keep up the awesome work you are doing und viele Grüße aus Deutschland!

eye of sauron censor very awesome detail for possibly the greatest tolkien-inspired band of all time!
i've been listening to them for years and I'm always astounded by how well they hold up and how easily they can shift their styles. following their career where they easily go from speed metal, to power metal, to symphonic metal, and even last year to classical music. it's just amazing how they always bring something new with them and avoid being stale, while still keeping their identity. hansi's voice is of course incredible, and andre's guitar playing is honestly some of the most underrated in the world.
hope you're having a good day mr Tank!

Dude, I'm so glad you're loving Blind Guardian! I been listening to them since middle school (I'm 37 now)
I grew up in a very rural town, so very commercial music was the norm and you really didn't have those other groups of kids who liked that "other" music, you know?
My best friend was hard into punk and Ska and I enjoy that too but I wasthe weird kid with the ZZ Top, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, etc. All music i grew up with listening to at home.
It was very hard to find new music, being limited to Walmart or whatever was sold at a pharmacy-type store like Walgreens, and particularly impossible to find proper record stores to find any form of variety.
I found Blind Guardian and Iced Earth while using.... Kazaa, which I had downloaded with out the teachers knowledge on one of our work computers. A lot of musicians and labels will say how Napster, Linewire, KaZaa, etc would destroy the industry, with Matellica famously suing Napster... but honestly, that's how I found new music. I found a tribal electronic group called Juno Reactor, before their involvement with The Matrix, because I was looking up Final Fantasy VII remixes and thought "Juno Reactor" was the name of one of the reactors in Midgard you have to bomb, so I thought it was a remix and instead I found a badass tribal electronic group.
So I found Blind Guardian, and my best friend would mock me. I found tracks specifically from Nightfall in Middle Earth and when we found a record store, I bought the then-new A Night At The Opera and the single for And Then There Was Silence, and he mocked me the whole time (I got the last laugh on him though, I started playing their older song "Guardian of the Blind" which is more speed metal and that same punk-rock- living friend was drumming on his chest to the breakneck beat, and he asked who was this and I said "Blind Guardian" and his only response was "goddammit" haha!)
So maybe P2P services like KaZaa are inherently bad and damaging, I can see that... but my experience with it brought me to new music I might never have found, and I went out and hunted down albums at brick-and-morter record stores or speciality stores. Friends wondered why I would buy the albums when I could just download it. I wanted to spend the money and get the disc, see the artwork, the whole thing. I own most of BG's discography on disc, I own the Imaginations Through The Looking Glass DVD, and I finally saw them live on the Twist In The Myth tour where we (AZ) were the very first stop on the US tour! It was a very small crowd, but passionate. We filled that room with our appreciation, joining Hansi in song, as he nodded in approval.
Blind Guardian remain one of the only bands that I have consistently listened to and who lasted from that schoolyard phase were many music choices can drop off. I got my mom into them as well and she loves Hansi's voice and Andre on guitar.
Just like I mentioned on Zero Signal, these songs hit home with me too. I got lucky with Zero Signal because it was on Mortal Kombat, I can't say that for all bands and not a another of soundtracks hit hard in that way (side note: Juno Reactor did end up on one of the extended More Songs From Kombat competitions and ended up on the second movie's soundtrack, not discounting that Buckethead was the guitar player on the movie score anyway), however Blind Guardian could easily have been missed and I feel very fortunate to have their music so early on and be literally the only kid in school rocking German metal (until Rammstein made it huge and even they had to be suggested to me by a friend in high school) and in really glad to know that you not only found them because of your channel, but you have been listening to them off channel enough to be this giddy for the new release!
I can't wait for the new album, and let's all sing the bard's song again.
    Sorry to ramble on.

Having said that - the "wild tone" you mention at 8:50 totally reminds me on Tales From The Twilight World, could be the (sort of) title song or Altair 4 or similar. It's the magic of this band... And they have made a step forward in their opus that I wouldn't have thought possible. The last record is just the pinnacle of what they did - despite Imaginations From The Other Side.

I discovered Blind Guardian almost seven years ago and immediately fell in love with their music. Although my taste in music has changed quite a lot since then, they still are and will always be my favourite band.
Recently saw them live for the third time at Keep It True Rising, in Würzburg, Germany. Managed to secure a spot in the front row, could barely speak for the next couple of days because I lost my voice singing along to their entire set (well, except this song) and some other bands. It was so awesome, finally being at a festival again, with my favourite band as headliner. They're amazing live and have such passionate fans. You have to experince it.
Can't wait for the new album. Sounds like it will be the perfect mixture of heavy and epic, it's going to be great.

Knew it :D As soon as I saw the bead in yur beard I knew it'll fly at the first hadbangin' :D Mine do too :D You need to shove it up way further, until you feel it won't go up any more and then apply some more force to it. (oh man that came pout wrong LOL) Keep your lower hand steady and push the bead with the other one. Don't worry, it won't pull your hair out as long as you don't tug on the follicles.
You need your beard to spread out underneath the bead by itself. The "force" that pushes the hairs away from each other is the one that keeps the bead in place (but also what makes it hard to put it up in the first place)
It helps if you braid the beard first and untie it after.

And the show I had tickets for this year, is already postponed twice cose of Covid restrictions... Let's hope for 2022. A good thing could be that they have more new songs to play. Glad to hear you've been discovering blind guardian outside the channel. As you haven't really reacted to anything more than the first video I was worried that maybe you had written them off. This new track sounds promising and it's really amazing that they've been playing together for so long. I remember discovering them back around year 2000...

I loved this song the first time I heard it. Classic Blind Guardian with a modern touch. Great reaction and I also am excited for new music from them. You mentioned VUUR (Days Go By is my favorite) and The Gentle Storm, awesome projects from Anneke Van Giersbergen and Arjen. Have you listened to The Gathering when Anneke was still in it? "Strange Machines" is a good start for The Gathering, one of the first bands along with Within Temptation that got me into metal about 8 years ago.

6:30 JK Fact: when not working from home, I drive by those Meinl buildings every day. Feels weird seeing them from the other side (and with their huge high-bay warehouse to the left of the camera just out of shot).
All the best from Germany, stay safe!

I saw 2 great shows of Blind Guardian this year, one was in September, the other one in November. Both were in their hometown Krefeld (I am from a neighbour city). My first concerts after the begin of the pandemia. Both concerts in a little hall in front of about 500 people, but it was really AWESOME! @TankTheTech thanks for this reaction video, it is great.

Great, Blind Guardian was the band everthing started with for me during mid 90's. Haven't paid close attention over the last decade, but it's great to see, that they're still fantastic!
For newer stuff: At the moment i'm listening a lot to the mayday ep from the warning, which just came out recently. They are a rock band (consisting of 3 sisters) from mexico. Although i'm sure you've heard about them - their enter sandman cover went viral here on youtube a couple years ago, when they still were kids - i have to leave a comment: You should check out something from that EP. My personal favorite is "evolve".
    Thanks for all your content!

And another great one Tank. I was surprised seeing a Solar here too 😁. Oh and btw. Should you make it to germany next year and everything should go well, you should consider visiting Summer Breeze festival. You could get a lot of your bucket list. I mean Orden Ogan, Blind Guardian, Feuerschwanz, Amorphis, Heaven Shall Burn, Insomnium, Jinjer and even Dark Tranquility and Bloodywood and many more are in the line-up for next year. Damn I'm so hyped for next year

I love Blind Guardian! The best German Power Metal band! You should check out the last Words of Farewell video though! They had Eike Freese on there from Dark Age, one of the classic Melodic Death Metal bands from Germany!

I really liked this song and i really liked your comments. And I’m curious what comes next.
I discovered Blind Guardian through the Bards Song about 20 years ago and was fascinated by the audience reactions. So I started to listen to more stuff from them and really liked it. So I discovered Power Metal for me. My favourite albums are a night at the opera and lord of the rings. After that I heard a lot from Hammerfall which I would like to recommend to you.
After that I turned more to medieval and folk sounds like In Extremo, Subway to Sally, Saltatio Mortis, Feuerschwanz, Schandmaul and so on. So you may see why I really like your channel. ;-)
At the moment I hear a lot from Versengold which is more Folk/Pop but maybe worth a look.

My Metal journey started with Ensiferums songs Wanderer. As i come from Germany thorugh the folk / Power Metal genre it took me only 1 Year to Discover Blind Guardian. That was back in 2008. Since then i always immediately followed up on any news, especially liked the colab with iced earth and had the fortune to watch em live more than once. I've Watched em live so many times and though there are some more pop culture referenced songs mixed in it was always a blast. You cant imagine how i partied to their Debut to the Book series "Die Zwerge" von Markus Heitz and their Soundtrack to the corresponding game. This particular song (Deliver us from Evil) is going back to their roots. Not as far as battalion of Fears but it reminds of their starting days. Looking forward to their new Album.
As for a new reaction i only managed to watch about half of your reactions of the Nightwish series. Have you ever considered reacting to any of the Songs from Marco's solo Album? Maybe u could try Stones, as i find it rat how he just sings about stones and it sound freakin Epic!!

    Hey Tank,
Love your reactions and got 2 wishes. Could you react to falco - rock me amadeus (it is the only german song to ever get number 1 in america! He is/was from austria and one of the best or the best artist out of austria.)
Second wish would be Schandmaul - der teufel hat den schnaps gemacht or leuchtfeuer. They play german folk rock but quite different to feuerschwanz or saltatio mortis or in extremo. I think you would like them very much
Have a good day and i look forward to your next reaction

When I first heard this song I was so surprised by that intro, I think it's actually my favorite part of the song. I almost wish there was a full song in that style but then maybe it wouldn't sound like Blind Guardian as much. Great video as always Tank!

The long time between album releases is kind of normal for them, i am following them since 1990 and there have been several long gaps without new stuff. But every new release then feels even better.
