If I could have chosen between watching Soupy or going to school, no contest.
    Soupy all day!
I had his "Words of Wisdom" cards on my bedroom wall.

Soupy mentions that Fang is a "minor" -- and then mentions "John L. Lewis" -- the former and longtime leader of the United Mine Workers union. It was those side quips that made him so much fun for ALL ages. And the way his crew kept cracking up.

Is there a more surreal comedic moment on television than this clip. Using your imagination to see White Fang crying, speaking in different languages and being stomped and sprayed by an engaged elephant. This is what great television was. Thank you Soupy and I think Clyde Adler.

Me too. I would have preferred to get an online degree in Soupy Sez than going to school. Too bad there was no internet back then.
Soupy was a genius when it came to his show. A terrific comedian and writer. Kudos to Clyde Adler and Frank Nastasi for their amazing voices as White Fang, BlackTooth, Pookie and Hippy.

The news papers from all over the world. White Fang speaks different languages. Soupy and his dogs talk with each other....White Fang cries all over Soup. This sketch was genius.

Thank you Soupy and White Fang! A dog who speaks so many languages should be allowed to marry an Elephant, after all he understands her! 😅😅😅

Soupy's jokes might have been old, but younger viewers have to hear these jokes for the first time someplace...and Soupy's show was where I heard many for the first time.

I was born in 1952. I lived in the Philly area. So I''m 14, 15, 16, watching this at night with my parents and laughing silly. And his show would take little breaks where he'd start dancing with some Motown, Four Tops, Supremes, Temptations background music. I think that added to my enjoyment.
There's one episode (I don't know if it's taped) I'll always think back to that made us laugh. Where he's standing in the middle of his room, and you hear all this commotion, like a building collapsing -- Smash-Bang-Boom! -- then White Fang appears with a piece of straw in his paw, while doing his woof-woof speak. After some back-and-forth (I wish I could remember all the dialogue), Soupy finally understands what White Fang is trying to show him, and then Soupy turns to the camera and informs us, "Oh, it's the straw that broke the camel's back."

Allen Funt created "Candid Microphone" on radio and "Candid Camera" on television. I don't think Ella Funt was a relative.

In one of the new Soupy Sales shows you can see Clyde Adler when he leans too far forward while wearing both paws.
