That was great however I want to create a fill layer underneath and place some images on the fill layer with the main image Oost in size and I’m having trouble doing that. Could you do a video on that please?
Olivio, how does one resize an image to fit a certain output size? For example, I have a photo whose output I want as 8x10 inches. If I crop to 8x10 in. I have to sacrifice some of the entire image. I don't want to that. I want the entire image to be 8x10in. How does one do that in Affinity photo? Thank you!
Very simple lessons. But this is their elegance and relevance. People often lack knowledge of the basics of working in such programs. Thanks for the basics. 😊👏👌
My Designer and Publisher docs failed to save. It says I lost control of the lock files. What does that mean? Have the documents corrupted? Never had that problem with Adobe InDesign or Illustrator. Very frustrated with Affinity.
hey, love your videos, can you please do a tutorial on how to do an iridescent/holographic sheen effect like the ones you can see if you google images "holographic card" I tried but it looks dull and like if it's just regular color on top, no sheen whatsoever
@@OlivioSarikas Yeah, I do the side-by-side before/after composites to "show my work" to a client. It's kind of "showing off," I guess. My clients are mostly Photoshop Artists in their own right, and I like it when they say "even I could not have done that." I guess I like being praised, which is kind of lame, huh. Speaking of Photoshop, I am ten times the better Photoshop artist since I stopped using Photoshop and switched to Affinity Photo. I don't know exactly why that is.
When you resize the document, it get's up or down scaled. So it changes the content of your document that way. If you only resize the canvas, all elements stay the same and only the canvas get's bigger. So their quality doesn't change, but now you have more room around them
Hello again sir, which of the 4 course you think I should hit first. Im very beginner tho. First month on the AP and photo editing. Or whichever its fine?
hm... maybe the microworld course, because it is limited to just one project. You might need to do some experimentation as a beginner, but I think it should be no problem to follow along. Just give it enough time and join my facebook group in case you have questions :)
Thanks for this vid, Olivio. I have a question about the concept of a canvas... It seems that a canvas is meant to be sort of a "proxy mask" for the printable (or output) area. Is this accurate? Does it have any other purpose? Thanks. Kurt

Olivio, thanks, I love that you mix your videos between basic and advanced. I never grow tired of watching you remind me how things work!
thank you, love to hear that :)
Thanks Olivio! Nice quick tutorial. These are great reviews of parts of Affinity that many may not even know about.
Clear and well-presented. Thank You!

Search for "holographic card texture" on google and use it as an overlay ;)
Hi Olivio!
I use Resize Canvas a lot for before/after editing composites.
sounds great :) I mostly use it before when I have a image and need more space next to it. like for "before and after" images

Is there a resize in the Designer as Photo ?
Much easier in Adobe.
Clear, concise helpful =o)
So when you expand the document does it hurt the image in anyway like cause quality losses?

I use the canvas to "mat" the image, or add a dark border. I think it helps draw attention to the image.
Perhaps 'resize document' should have been called 'resize image' to make more sense?
not really, because as I show in the video, it resizes everything, including vector shapes, text and such. So, much more than an individual image ;)
unsub
bye! have a nice Christmas 😂😂😂
Clear and Well-presented. Thank you!
