    Hi Nathan... "Thank You" for this video. I recently bought the Affinity Graphics Suite (Designer, Photo, Publisher) largely because they were half off and the deal was just too good to pass up. So now I've got all these really great programs and have just started watching videos to get started. I've seen several videos on all kinds of topics but haven't come across any printing videos and didn't realize there were so many options to concern myself with. I just assumed you just hit "print" and everything would be fine but your video taught me there's much more to it than that so I very much want to say, "Thank You" for this video. It was very necessary and very appreciated.
    I also heard in the video that you have other Affinity videos so I'm going to watch them all. Please let everyone at the Evanston Art Center know their videos are being watched and appreciated.

    Thank you for the excellent video with clear instructions! I'm going to try this now with my new Canon Pro 200 which is only letting me select "card stock" and not matt photo paper! It's driving me crazy and it must be some simple setting, I'll follow your tutorial now and give it a go.

    This video explains nicely how to use the Resize dialog to get your image ready for printing. It's a shame that AP requires you to do this step. Many editors (e.g. Corel PaintShop Pro, even Irfanview viewer) allow you to just specify in the PRINT dialog what size to print the image at, where to place it on the page, etc without going thru this resizing exercise, which basically just gets the image ready for printing by changing its dpi. Affinity Photo once again making things more complicated than they have to be, IMHO. But this video helped me to see how to do it, so thanks!!

    Will AP2 let you resize the image, "manually" in the print module like PS will?

    This is quite different to how I have learned to print with Affinity, Robin Whalley and James Ritson (the latter works for Affinity/Serif) each have videos explaining how to print with Affinity Photo.
    One key part of printing is "Soft Proofing" for printing (or web), not sure if you do/did this just did not show it the video, but without soft proofing you are guessing at your print results.

    At the start did you resize the original. Isn’t that destructive? Can you resize without damaging the original?

    Thanks for explaining. Don't know why it has to be so complicated to just print my photo's. Using 3d party paper, can't find profiles off. and a Canon mg5150 printer. I've been spending way too much time on this and still don't get it right. Never had problems before using Affinity. I am dissapointed about the printingpart of it.

      I haven't tried printing in AP since I first Purchased it about 4-5 years ago. Mine came out ok but don't remember what I did. Somewhere there is info on downloading/using ICC profiles with AP. Can't remember where I seen it. Check the AP forums. Also there are tutorials & help topics near the top of your screen in the Help drop down. I just use LR6=so easy. I also have Qimage Ultimate but hardly ever use it. A lot of people like printing from Qimage. I just opened AP. In the print menu in the lower left section you will see a list. Select Color Management. Scroll to your right & select Printer Profile & if you have ICC profiles for your 3rd party papers (eg. Canson, Moab, Red River, etc.) installed on your computer, they will be in the drop down browse list. So easy. Let me know if this helps. Also , you can just save the photo & use your printer's driver.

      @@thomastuorto9929 Hey Ted, thank you for taking time to respond to my comment. Again, I really love Affinity, that's why I decided to buy it. I didn't think of trying to print my pictures while I was still using the trial. I never thought it might be an issue. (I used Photoshop before, and that is straight forward). ICC, color management etc. I don't get it. And I can't find the correct match. Anyway, I've called in the help of a friend. Hope we can get it right :) I don't feel like buying other programs just to be able to print my photo's, while I have a program that should be able to do just that, and in a great way too.

      @@thomastuorto9929I thought you may want to know that we have found the solution: Use the option 'normal paper' from the printer (even when using glossy photo paper) and problem is solved! I am very happy :)

    How do you get that rid of that white boarder I am trying to print to the age and can't figure out how to do it?

    • @RAH1861
      @RAH1861 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you set the size of the image in the Resize dialog (shown in the video) to be the same size as the paper you're going to use, you should not get any border. However, your printer must be able to do borderless prints. I usually print smaller and then cut the borders off.
