I had a model older than this one that I love. My sister has difficulty with tools that are too heavy and she actually loved mine and found it easy to use th-cam.com/users/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . This is a newer model but was even lighter which she really appreciates. She enjoys it and I no longer have to go to her house to trim as she can handle it fine. Haven't used it enough to comment on the battery life but lithium batteries last longer than the old style. Being cordless makes it easy to trim the far edges of the property. The entire yard can be trimmed with one charged battery.
You can also use the hedge trimmer, with correct adjustment, for large area whipper snippering / brush cutting. especially on slops. And you can use multiple extensions for more height. Unwieldy, but possible.
Edger is awesome (I have it) but I don't love the aluminum line trimmer (seems to lack a bit of power in some areas). Thing I hate is it has worked out BLOODY expensive for a multi-tool and edger because NONE of their attachments are ever on special and their fool size dedicated ones are (and very often), so it ends up CHEAPER to buy dedicated ones..... plus there is way more choice in sizing etc, so very disappointment overall. The attachments should be a lot cheaper than they are.
My only complaint with the multitool is I don't know if it's my height(5'7") or what but cannot find a position to use the edger where it doesn't destroy my upperback and shoulder. I do have the shoulder strap so that helped. The power level is unreal though!
Although I don’t have one, a company called Ballard do a thing called a Darwin Grip. This quick little vid I just found shows very quickly the difference in posture it creates. th-cam.com/video/JzyqSfT2Tt8/w-d-xo.html
i just recently bought into the EGO range with a mower trimmer and blower and wish i had gone with the multi tool with trimmer and edger head as i’m not great at using the trimmer for edging. the multi tool with the additional heads would have been a lot more expensive though and to be honest i only have about 15lm of edging to do so i probably should just practice more 😂
That's what I found out, it works out way more expensive for a multi-tool with the attachments than buying dedicated ego stuff...... (especially because their dedicated stuff is always on big specials, which is great but just shows how overpriced the attachments really are) Plus the sizing limitations / options with the multi-tool attachments is just crappy. So with pricing and this it really is a killer.
I wish they'd sell more kits, with a price cut if you get a few attachments. The battery/charger is just a huge blow to the wallet and any way to come down on price would be good. A 5.0 Ah battery and charger go for around $300.
For me he seemed to be a bit half-hearted in performing these tests. No clever insights or suggestions for how to make these tools easier to use. Myself I have an EGO lawnmower which uses a 7.5 Ah battery, which for economic reasons I use with the weed trimmer. The combination is too heavy for me to use comfortably [ I'm in my late 80's ] and find that a shoulder strap [ also supplied by EGO ] to make a huge difference. I find I have to maintain a straight back while wearing the strap which means I have to lean back away from the work and swing the thing from side to side along the work area. BTW I believe it's easier to work L-R along the ground area. He seemed to prefer R-L no doubt because he is in the southern hemisphere LOL. I have not tried any of the other gadgets on display, but might try the back-pack battery carrier since I have the heavy battery. The cultivator looks a bit flimsy to me, and doubt if it would be much good in either wet loam or rock-hard dry stuff. In general I think EGO type tools is the way of the future.
Cheers for those comments. Some good insights there to make better videos so I appreciate the thoughts. Be sure to check out this sundays vid on the new Allett Stirling which uses the same battery.
One quick question can you do a review on how deep the cultivator can go. You only did the surface, I am just worried about not getting deep enough to cultivate the soil
I haven't tried it with deep gardening job. I have a masport cultivator which is a bit more specialised and heavy weight would obviously go a bit deeper. I will in future be needing to do some deeper works so I'll make sure I film that. Sorry I don't have the answer for that at this time.
When you get free stuff and sponsored by a company, you really can't say anything bad or you lose sponsorship. With free stuff you don't get buyers remorse and the fact that it is just handed to you without a loss to the pocket book, makes one complacent and can't really say if it was worth the money. the review was done well but I feel those 2 reasons are enough to discount any real test and flaws a real buyer would talk about. This is the world we live in now, where everyday people make reviews and become a tool to these companies and really get handcuffed because they will lose if they say anything bad about the product.
Thanks for the comments. Appreciate it. The items were supplied free but I am not sponsored by Ego. Yes, companies give me stuff to review. Sometimes it’s free. Sometimes it’s a borrow (Allett C24) and sometimes it is a purchase (MowMaster R22W). I don’t always accept offers due to many reasons but mainly the strings that are attached. I try and keep it to what people may be interested in rather than just doing reviews for review sake. I’m pretty keen on the Ego stuff, so I approached them on this occasion if we could review stuff for them and they agreed. Just for the record, I don’t accept payment for reviews or comments and I only take stuff on for a review so long as I get to say what I like or dislike about the item. Your comments of “the world we live in now” are completely valid and unfortunately I have been in that trap before. Not that the company I was involved were bad but it stopped me doing other items which I felt lessened the value of what I was doing for the Lawnporn community, so I ended both those relationships. Naive at the time I accepted them but I was pretty new at the TH-cam thing at the time. I’m not in that position anymore thankfully. So no matter what I review, whatever I say about it doesn’t really change anything for me personally. I try and present the product as best and with a balanced view as I can. Thank you for your comments still. Regards.
If you look at every ego attachment for the multi head you'll never see. The the roto scissors. Why is that they don't think it's important. You could look far and wide and never see it. I've looked into these systems, and they are all unimpressive. Milwaukee burns up, EGO's battery dies early, and Dewalt they only have a trimmer that's worth anything. So I went and got ECHO PAS system with edger and trimmer. It's been a few months and I mow 4 property consistantly every other week. I'm still on the first gallon of gas(tru-fuel). It might take me a year to finish a gallon. The system was 329, the gas 25 dollars. So for about 400 dollars you get pretty much the basics minus the mower. I have nothing against battery, I use milwaukee's Blower, and the Ryobi's edger, just havent found the right system to invest into yet. And no, I'm not going to spend a thousand dollar on a mower. LOL.
I'm a pro landscaper and I used both the Ego and Ryobi 5a systems, they both have a longway to catch up to fuel systems, Allthough ok for city dwellers. The backpack system is handy when you do a long hedging or pruning. In all the commercial line of Ego is realy a semi and def not for heavy applications, not worth it if you're a tradie!

The latest Ego multi-tool has the Powerload feature despite the motor being in the rear. Also a relocated safety trigger and a digital 2 speed button.
Oh that’s good!
This is how you drop a months salary all at one time. Good looking equipment.
It's over $1,000.00 US.
Pro trick : watch series on flixzone. Been using it for watching a lot of movies these days.
@Nash Kairo Yea, have been using Flixzone} for years myself :)
I like the background music. Nice tools. China got brilliant products.
Yes they do

Good honest review, all the best with the new gardens.
Thank you. Should be fun.
I love term whipper snipper, haven't heard that before, love it. Thanks for the review
No problem. Look forward to much more with this gear.
That's a Aussie term
Finally an Aussie You Tuber like myself
Just subbed to your channel mate.
Is there an update video on these products and or the newer models and accessory attachments?
I run ego commercially, been running the power head for dethatching 8 hours a day almost the entirety of this month.
Yes a lot of people are making the switch to battery.
Which tool do you use for dethatching? And what's the battery life like when doing this?
Nevermind. I see that you use the bristle brush, which unfortunately isn't available where I am.
@@jasonbedford5729 sold out where I am I hope mine doesn't break...
Am wondering how well the Brush work? I want to brush gravel out of my yard along the street.
I am still yet to use the brush but I will update that soon.

Yeah I wish the attachments weee a bit cheaper too.
The brush cutter doesn't seem to be available in the U. S. Why is that?
Crikey Mate, trust an Aussie to call their channel Lawnporn. Get your Lawn On...spot ya
Cheers mate.
I wish the MHC1502 kit wasn't so hard to find. I'll stick to my gas backpack Echo blower, for blowing leaves.
Whipper snipper sounds hilarious :) Is that whaat they're called in Australia?
G'day mate great video. Love what you do on the channel. I think you will find the plant at the front is nandina domestica, secret bamboo.
Oh thanks for that information. Very helpful.
G’day buddy just wondering if echo rotary scissors would fit this unit?
That’s a very good question as I am wondering the same. It looks a great tool.
Have you ended up trying the brushcutter? Think it can handle gorse?
My only complaint with the multitool is I don't know if it's my height(5'7") or what but cannot find a position to use the edger where it doesn't destroy my upperback and shoulder. I do have the shoulder strap so that helped. The power level is unreal though!

@@lawnporn that’s slick! I’ll have to snag one if I can’t get my positioning better. Thank you!
Buy the EGO shoulder strap, attach and adjust. I have a chronic back condition and the shoulder strap is a must for me.

I’m no good with just using the trimmer as an edger. Love the solid edger ❤️

Nice video. Maybe try it on some heavier work next time.
it is brilliant equipment multi tool love to see how the tiller works and if its gear box is compatible for the sweeper
I wish you had shown the buttons on the power head and their functions
Thanks for that. I should of yes and I’ll take that on board. Cheers.
Great timing, just waiting for the 52cm lawnmower I purchased to turn up and I'm really interested in the multi tool as a future purchase.
I wish they'd sell more kits, with a price cut if you get a few attachments. The battery/charger is just a huge blow to the wallet and any way to come down on price would be good. A 5.0 Ah battery and charger go for around $300.
Pricey up front but damn do you get it on the back end! Ego makes lawn care fun. I feel like I'm playing with toys, getting 🤑...

It’s a super shame they only do them in Australia 🇦🇺 You’d think they’d do it the other way around.
You don't say if its brushless. You also mention if its the same battery that's used in the lawnmower
5 months late but yes and yes!
I want the blower
Have you ever used the 40v Ryobi Expand-It multitool system?
Sorry for the late reply. I haven't but there are a lot of people who love the Ryobi stuff.
I have never heard someone call the weed eater a whipper snipper
Ego it's a American company ?
Not actually sure tbh

The damn thing is so heavy way heavier than any petrol powered I've ever owned. Good luck using the pole saw for half hr.
lift some weights or something.
I’m 59 and use it all the time with no problem. I’m guessing you’re way out of shape maybe you should think about working out a bit.
I hate watching these Ego videos from Australia or the UK. It's frustrating because the same products aren't available in the states. 😡

You drank the Koolaid. I did so as well.
You got to love this stuff..
At least I could hear the music, cuz that's the most important part. This is terrible.
overpriced attachment. Just the edger attachment cost $200 in Australia
ego looks good but for the price ryobi seems better
First Matty boi
Nice sponsored video.
