Wow! Using that brush attachment to thatch the lawn is a great idea. Never thought of that. Also the pole saw looks like it will work well for my yard. I have their leave blower and chain saw, but was on the fence about getting the multi head kit. I think I might get one. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I have several EGO products and will be adding the cultivator and brush for my multi-head system. Thanks for all of the tips and please keep them coming!
YES. this man is 100 per cent correct - Ego is just amazing. got the leaf blower love it and the hedge trimmer for the multi head and extension. just fantastic going to get their 2 stage snow blower next fall.
Great vid! Thanks for doing this. Just like you I started with the mower and now own snowblower, 16” chainsaw and now the new carbon fiber multi-head with string trimmer. My favorite tool so far is the chainsaw, it’s amazing! But EGO is by far the best in battery powered tools.
I joined the community, bought a EGO weed trimmer this week with some hesitation however after putting it through a torture test, I'm grinning ear to ear. 😊 in fact its a kick ass product. Now I'm eyeing up a electric pole saw!
My path was very similar to yours. I had a corded leaf blower that worked great, but I had to move the extension cord 3 times to do the whole place & dealing with the cord used up a lot of time. I looked at cordless rechargeable tools & decided on an Ego 650 blower. That worked so good that I started looking at more tools by them, so I could stay in the same battery family for everything. Next was a powerhead/pole saw combo & that worked great, so the trimmer attachment was next. Then came a hedge trimmer attachment. And my wife wanted a way to till the flower beds, so the obvious solution was the cultivator attachment. And every one of these tools delivered as expected, so when I wanted to replace my walk behind mower I looked at Ego, bought one of theirs. It's now starting its 3rd season & I'm on year #4 with Ego tools & have never looked back at the gas or corded tools they replaced.
Very cool... I also have the leaf blower , snow thrower , Lawn mower ( that is in it's 6th year), and I am looking to get the new power washer. It is an AMAZING system !!!
@@sedgetool Yes, the pressure washer has my attention. I currently have a gas powered one that's 8 years old, whenever it craps out I'll probably get the Ego one.
I have the EGO multi head with edge, string, and hedge. I have a old harbor freight pole saw and sun joe detacher. I purposefully keep a Honda Mower as one of the twiblade EGO I bought was grate at mowing grass, but but poor at mulching leaves. Based on my observation of your size yard. I would stick with EGO EVERYTHING. I have a 70's size yard with more mature trees, larger lot, and lots of leaves. Honda gas out beats EGO in my personal situation. Either way I loved your video and wish I had a dad like you. You are awesome and love your energy.
Just watched this today 4-22-2023, great review . I have ego snow blower and leaf blower and love them. Are you still happy with ego now that you’ve had all these attachments now for a while? I’m looking to buy the multi head soon, maybe. If your still happy wit your stuff. Thank you
I just used my tiller attachment a few hours ago...I am still blown away with the versatility of the multi head system... I have owned it for a few years and am still impressed !!!
I've got the chainsaw, the lawnmower, the hedge trimmer, the pole saw and the blower. My wife said hold on, son... so in a couple of months, I'll have the edge trimmer. But the leaf blower!
Good video! I have the Ego stand alone leaf blower and hedge trimmer… not the multi-head system. They both work great, much better than I expected. Now, like most small gas engines, my gas garden tiller (troy-bilt) basically would start for only the first year. For me that seems to be true of almost all small gas engines. I need to till my garden and raised beds now, but cannot start the darn thing! So now I am considering an Ego battery cultivator. You showed yours scratching the ground well. I"m not sold, however, that it will churn well in deep garden soil (It would have to push a lot of dirt out of the way). Maybe it does, but it would have been nice to see it operating in deep soil. Still, I am considering the multi-head system because of your video.
Thatch hack is genius!!! But not to sound like Mr. Safety, but since you're now flicking everything toward you, eye protection would be a really good idea. Great video - just bought this tool with the power shovel/snow attachment. Very cool to see how versatile it is. Those batteries sure pack a punch these days!
The video is very helpful by showing the various attachments in a concise manner. I ordered the multi head tool with the string trimmer attachment to replace my current battery powered trimmer (arrives soon). I'm hopeful the EGO has more power and has longer battery life. I am not sure it will make me enjoy the various tasks, but I hope it makes it easier and more efficient.
Just got the trimmer/edger combo on prime day for $304. not a bad deal - charging the battery now. Now thinking of getting a 3rd party brand battery. The only neg for me is that this is a heavy trimmer.
Got the mower first as well then the trimmer with the auto reload feature. Have the multihead now as well cause needed the edger. Thats the only piece of the multihead i have so far. House and tree is new so dont need polesaw or chainsaw. Basically my whole wall is green and gray.
Yeah man, these EGO reviews sold me on buying a blower, than an 18 inch? chain saw. And now today a cultivator. Been impressed with durability and battery duration. Though the battery that came with the blower seems to be losing it's ability to hold a charge.
Sedge, did you check out the Ego Power Station? I'm really tempted to opt for one if it could safely power some of my Festool corded tools like my RO sanders or the Domino 500 or my corded Vecturo 400. Is Ego's 2000 watts (continuous) enough to run the tool + dust extractor simultaneously? Or is there a better solution for power tools + dust collection where one HAS to work without any available AC line power? I know gasoline generators and inverters are the usual & obvious solution, but some of them pose a risk of damaging the tool with inconsistent or "dirty" voltage and frequency.
I have the Milwaukee version of this and it works well. Been considering the ego mower instead of the Milwaukee though as it’s quite a bit cheaper. Would be curious to hear your thoughts on the mower.
Hey Sedge, trying to place the accent. Are you from da Bronx? j/k Nice video. I like how you've touched base on a good variety of attachments/accessories very succinctly. I'm so very much on the fence adding another battery platform. I've already got DeWalt and Stihl. Ego seems to have fantastic reviews from everyone I watch. The most common complaint is the weight. You did a great job as an unpaid company spokesman. I'm incredibly close to pulling the trigger. Can you give a little inside information about products going on sale or possibly offering combo or battery deals? Have you noticed any promotions during certain times of the year? ie: Memorial Day is fast approaching. End of season maybe? End of year holidays?
The accent is from Maine...I have been away for 39 years ...still have it. I Love the EGO system.. that is why I did the video... I do videos on what I like... EGO is worth every penny I also have the EGO Lawn Mower, Snow blower, leaf blower, Led Light, and 16" chainsaw.... I bought the Chainsaw last fall because on Amazon there was a deal..That is the only sale / reduced price I have seen.
If you did lawn care videos for beginners they might do well, I'm a new homeowner and never had a lawn growing up and a lot of the resources I've tried to find are really confusing, like what type of grass i should get, fertilizer, etc.
you buy what you are invested in! In my case, I bought the Milwaukee head with their string trimmer and pole saw. Shame Festool has no yard tools! I could use my batteries in them instead of just drills and saws!
String trimmer attachment seems much noisier than the dedicated EGO string trimmers are. Of course, with the dedicated string trimmers, the motor is in the trimmer head down at grass level.
I am 64 years old female mother of 11 and am partially disabled so i can no longer climb kneel down, lift things , balance.step ladders are no lomger possible for me i only have one good leg after an accident .i need a hedge trimmer, chain saw, strimmer, edger, weed eater, lopper for thin branches, Ive bought a hyundai rotavator and a hyundai leaf blower mulcher, vacuum 3 in 1 .I wonder if i could manage this ego system myself ?
I have almost all the same ego tools that you do very disappointed in hedge trimmer When I use it in its horizontal position, it's always kicking back if I'm trying to cut some hedges that aren't very thick and I'm applying pressure to the left. It's always kicking back to the right and it's doing a lousy job.
Thanks for sharing ... I trim with the hedge trimming attachment in speed #2 setting at a faster rate and have had good results...Hope this may help !!!!
Wow! Using that brush attachment to thatch the lawn is a great idea. Never thought of that. Also the pole saw looks like it will work well for my yard. I have their leave blower and chain saw, but was on the fence about getting the multi head kit. I think I might get one. Thanks for sharing your experience.

@@sedgetool Cultivator for the win!! This is my new favorite attachment. More power than I expected.
Sedgy, that is some hat! 😁Thanks for sharing this video.

Dethathing hack was brilliant. I second the motion on favoring the lime green 😉. Thanks Sedge!
Awesome! Thank you!
Thank you for the machine oil tip for the trimmer. really really appreciate that! great video
You bet!
You should try fluid film instead of oils. Made for various lawn equipment and won’t hurt vegetation/plants.
Love your enthusiasm! Love ego! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks 🙏
Your de thatch hack is brilliant!
Thanks...Just did part of my lawn last month and it is flourishing...
YES. this man is 100 per cent correct - Ego is just amazing. got the leaf blower love it and the hedge trimmer for the multi head and extension. just fantastic going to get their 2 stage snow blower next fall.
Right on!
I suspect somewhere deep down, you were drawn to the lime green accents.
I think you have a valid point !!!!🤣
Chris, my thoughts exactly!
😂

Great content thank you
Thanks Arthur !!!!
I've got the chainsaw, the lawnmower, the hedge trimmer, the pole saw and the blower. My wife said hold on, son... so in a couple of months, I'll have the edge trimmer. But the leaf blower!
The hedge trimmer slid right through some ⅜ stainless wire, so be careful!
cool Thanks...I love the EGO system
Love the video. Incase you didn't know Forsythia bushes are meant to grow “wild”. That's probably why your trimming it several times a year.
cool....Thanks for the info!

I have batteries 5 years old ..still holding charge !!!
I also am doing gas free now. It's nice not having to deal with all the gas related issue. Batteries have come a long way from the D size batteries.
I TOTTALY agree....

you i think first guy to show the guide on the edger, do not remember any one showing it in reviews , thanks
Thanks !!!!
What kind of oil did you use for the pole saw? The one I see from Lowe’s are expensive for a little bottle and big bottle even more
I use the Stihl chainsaw oil...had some left over from my chainsaw days !!!
I have the Milwaukee version of this and it works well. Been considering the ego mower instead of the Milwaukee though as it’s quite a bit cheaper. Would be curious to hear your thoughts on the mower.
I have had it since 2018 ...It is awesome....
How good is the string trimmer on heavier thick grass and weeds like three foot golden rod
never tried it on 3 foot golden rod....but with the right string inserted I would Imagine it would be fine...plenty of power
love my ego tools
