Years ago when I worked at Wyandotte paint in Wyandotte Michigan I met George and his partner John, can’t remember John’s last name. I’m talking back when George owned The AMT model car kit company. I used to see George when he would visit the company where we made all the paint to be be approved by him before we sent the approved colors to be put in spray canes to be sold with the kits. My job was to develop these wild and beautiful colors. I will never forget the look on his face when I showed him the series of candy apple type colors in red, blue, green, golden yellow. They just bloooo his mind. I remember writing down how I developed them for him. He was a very nice man to meet and share time with. Many years ago a buddy of mine handed me a book to read. I think the title was Hotrod. It was about the adventures of a young man in the 50's who built a car out of several other cars and his adventures and misadventures along the way. I swear this is the car out of that book as I pictured it in my mind. Amazing!

you don't realize how these cars were built, you could actually grind on the metal fenders and other body panels to literally pull dents out of the old cars, some of you know what i mean im sure. and those window frames were so well built and heavy they could be used as weapons. i miss the old cars but at my age ive gone a little soft and appreciate the a/c and power windows of today.
