    Nice, just subscribed. A friend of mine has one of those, but it's pretty old now. He keeps it in his airplane hangar to shoot pigeons, starlings, and rats. I got to try it out a few years ago, and I thought it was really cool. He told me that he likes it a lot because it's safe to fire it inside the hangar. I don't think he ever shot pellets with it though. He's more interested in using it as a shotgun. But, it still works after all these years, and it is pretty worn looking and a little rusty.

      Nice. Thanks for the sub & comment. They definitely has a cult following. Many are disappointed by the lack or power and range compared to even a .410 shot gun. But you cant shoot a gun like that inside buildings without concerns with over penetration or noise as well as potential legal concerns. In some instances one of the Viper Express shooting shot shells is a really good alternative.

      @@AlsAirguns I ended up buying one of those Gamo air shotguns and discovered you can reload those shot shells (after learning how to do it). I've really enjoyed this gun. So far I'm just using it for taking out field rats that get in our shop and barn, and at 5 yards or so it's perfect and works great. Every single time I've shot a rat with it, the rat is dead immediately. I've been reloading the shells using No.8 shot from Academy.

    In my personal experiment... I have exchanged barrels from my Gamo Express shotguns, to my whisper fusion pro & my Gamo Big Cat 1400... As I suspected... The bigger, mush stronger 33mm powerplant of the Gamo whisper fusion pro & B.C.1400 produced an average of 967- 980 fps across my chronograph from these little Gamo shotshells...& a HUGE increase in effective shot range.(20 yards).. a tighter pattern at longer distances with noticeable better penetration....

      Hi, I keep on seeing your comments. I have a question, when you converted your coil spring to a gas ram like you said on pyramid air, was that a Customairseals ram, and what do you think the effective range of the gas ram gun with shotshell 7 1/2 lead shot would be for squirrel

    I just don’t get why someone would want to buy a gun with a smooth bore in at like back in the 1680s or something you’re not a pilgrim rifling in the barrel does great things for shooting accuracy

    • @AlsAirguns
      @AlsAirguns  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Rifling kills shot patterns with is why most modern shotguns are still smooth bores. Rifling only helps single projectiles. Also the standard pellet front heavy and wasp waisted was designed to operate with out spin. So in this case the smooth bore makes sense.

    • @trevorjameson3213
      @trevorjameson3213 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@AlsAirguns I've found that standard pellets work just fine, even without the rifling. Group size is a bit larger, but at 20 yards you'll still smack the squirrel or skunk no problem, I've done it and it's instant lights out for those varmints. 1" group versus a 1/2" group, so what, we're not shooting target competition here. Lol

    • @AlsAirguns
      @AlsAirguns  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You’re right about normal pellets being designed to be accurate without rifling, they are designed to be self stabilizing like a shuttle cock.

    Thank you for actually showing the shot shells. I've looked at several articles/reviews of this air gun since I found out about it, and no one else even took them out of the box, let alone showed them with a pushpin for size reference. So thank you for being thoughtful enough to do that!
    Any idea when/if this this air gun will ever become available again? I have an infestation of tiny mice around my backyard chicken coop. I don't want to put down poison, or snap traps, because of the chickens occupying the area. I've been picking them off with a pellet gun, but they are as quick as grease lightning and hard to hit. Was thinking this would be perfect due to the shot spread at close distances giving me an advantage.

    • @AlsAirguns
      @AlsAirguns  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It sounds like this should be just the ticket for those mice. They should be in stock again soon. They tend to sell out and then re-stock several times a year.

  • @erjustin71
    @erjustin71 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    They need to put a chock on it. You are saying it is not bad, yet the proof you are showing looks to me as if this thing is worthless as a gun at all, yet alone something useful.
    Six yards, and you had 15 rounds, and I don't even think they broke the target. That thing is a piece of crap, who wants target shoot with a shot gun? Because you are not using that for anything else, you are just wasting rounds.

    • @AlsAirguns
      @AlsAirguns  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      A lot of people use them for snakes, mice, rats, sparrows and such at close range often indoors (typically sheds) where they don't want to make holes in the walls or ceiling.
      Think of it like a bug-assault, no good for hunting squirrels but great agains a fly sitting on a window pane or vase.
      Thank for the comment.
      Cheers

      @trevorjameson3213 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@AlsAirguns Yeah some people just aren't understanding the intended use for something like this. It's excellent for what's it's designed for. You could clear a shed of rats or snakes in no time with this thing.

    • @AlsAirguns
      @AlsAirguns  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      You're absolutely right. I love shooting fly's off the windows and lamps with the bug-a-salt. Doesn't mean it'll replace my .410 or my Gamo Viper Express. And I wouldn't use them to shoot fly's in my kitchen.

      @@AlsAirguns I ended up putting a red dot sight on mine too and man it makes all the difference! I was never good with the bead sight even with the shot shells, but now I can smoke those rats easily at longer distances. Also it's capable with pellets now too, good accuracy out to 20 yards, but not as good as rifled barrel gun with a scope, but that's ok for the ranges I'm using it at.

      I think I would lean towards pellets for squirrels. The shot looses velocity quickly. We used to hunt them with #6 shot in 20 gauge and #4 in 410 shotguns. These shot shells are loaded with #9 shot which in most hunters opinion is to small for squirrels out of a proper (firearm) shotgun.

      Do not use this for squirrels. Far too small of shot and it doesn’t keep tight enough of a pattern or retain enough energy at any kind of considerable range. If you’re gonna use an air gun on squirrels, stick to using pellets.
