Yes, JM is clear and fairly consistent, but what he tells us does not take great wisdom to see. Also, he does have his biases. It is not that, according to him, Russia does not share the blame for the war. As I understand him, his finds blame on both sides. I don't agree. I think there is a good guy and bad guys here. Sadly, the leadership of the US are the bad guys. I find clear that Russia did all it could to avoid a war but was left no alternative.

Prof. J. M. is about my favorite commentator to listen to. I don't find him to be the most supremely intelligent speaker I've ever heard. But he's possibly the most honest. Very brilliant intellects can craft the cleverest systems of deception. They can deceive as handily as they can persuade. What makes John's thoughts, insights and conclusions so valuable is that they are the product of a profoundly moral mind that has worked hard to think things through. Extremely smart people tend to believe at least some very wacky, untrue stuff. Most often, the smarter the brain, the grander the delusion it operates in service of. J.M. has managed to not get full of himself. He thinks with humility and patience, which may be why he achieves such clarity of vision. Also, he works very hard at scholarship, putting in the effort to monitor all the sources of information relevant to his specialty. He's never guilty of neglecting his homework. I'd love to know what engendered in him his insistence on seeing things as they are.

Still, at 0:3:48 of this lecture, I'm pausing that and chopping garlic to wonder what constitutes personal benefit from knowingly pushing and perpetuating a lie. I wonder what "best interests of the country" constitutes, who does benefit, who does not. And what those benefits perpetuate. What the pros and cons are, and where do those mutually or exclusively rest.

I lived in the USA for 5 years between 93 and 98. Everyday I heard someone say, “the biggest mistake George Bush made was he didn’t finish Saddam when he had the chance!” So I knew that when George W was elected, 10 years of hearing this statement would have driven the small minded narcissist to a state of insanity regards clearing his family’s name. Sure enough, off he goes with a public not being able to see what was happening. “Daddy, everything’s ok now. I got Saddam ❤️”

I really like and respect professor John Mearsheimer. I also agree with him most of the time. However, I do not agree with one statement he makes in this talk - when he matter of factly states that Khalid Sheik Mohammed masterminded the 9/11 attacks. That is just not the case. Mearsheimer ought to know that the CIA waterboarded the Sheik and no doubt also used other kinds of torture on him. He was waterboarded so many times and was tortured so much it's likely he was permanently disabled. The professor also should know why the US never brought the Sheik to trial and why, today, he remains in a cell at Guantanamo where he has been kept for many years. Why did the US decide not to try him in a courtroom? The most likely answer is because the US doesn't have enough evidence to convict him. (Just like the FBI in the case of Bin Laden. The FBI actually admitted on its web page that it never indicted Bin Laden because of insufficient evidence.) Why so little evidence? Again, the most likely answer is that neither the Sheik nor Bin Laden were behind 911! I know this will shock many. While there's no doubt Bin Laden was guilty of attacking US embassies in Africa, Arab jihadists simply did not have the know-how or the means to stage what happened at the World Trade Center. Nor did they have access. We have known since about 2007 that the towers were brought down with explosives. This rules out the Arab jihadists (who were patsies) because the towers were secure buildings and there is no way the jihadists could have gotten in there to plant the explosives. For this reason it had to be an inside operation. The evidence points elsewhere. Indeed, everything points to the western financial elite as the instigator of the attacks. Here I am going to name a few names. The planning for 911 was probably at the Federal Reserve Bank of NY, and the masterminds probably included was Maurice Greenberg, CEO of their insurance giant AIG. We are ruled by murderous psychopaths who had no qualms about murdering ~ 3,000 Americans to accelerate their gambit of world empire. Oh, and the Mossad no doubt was also deeply involved. Israel is the only nation on earth that benefitted from 911. Think that through...

What really puzzled me is how you can so arrogantly advance that you were glad Kennedy lied to the American people about not having cut a deal with the Russians, because you believe he solved the Cuba missiles crisis! Do you not realize that such stand is saying the Russian people (who had defeated the Nazis) were not as worth as the American people?(let the Russians appear weak for having coiled back like cowards under the threat of the US).
