    Poor Gracie broke my heart 😢 glad she's in a better place & looking awesome! It's sad ppl get animals & then "throw" them away when they can't handle them anymore, I am glad she was taken to the shelter and not abandoned like so many others. I just wish ppl would think long & hard before they get a pet, that's why I won't get a pet for my daughter because I can hardly afford to stay afloat for our daily lives let alone adding a pet to our household, they require lifetime care and we can't afford it.

      @@DCBELLAFAIRY thank you for saying that, I appreciate it! Every time my daughter says we don't have a pet ppl are like why not? I always feel like I am getting judged because I don't have one. I would love to have a pet, we took in a stray male cat as kids and we all fell in love with him, Raja was his name. My Dad would never admit it but he fell in love with Raja too, 😂😂 Raja disappeared about a month before my Dad passed away from a massive heart attack at 50yrs old. I often wondered if Raja knew we wouldn't be able to keep him, when Dad passed away because we had to go live with my mom. Animals have that instinct. We miss him very much, (the cat & Dad) 😢
      My Dad said no we couldn't have a pet because we were in town and he was a firm believer in having plenty of room for a dog to run and not chaining or fencing them in. I guess I took after him because I feel the same way.
      Anyway got way off track here sorry about that 😃

    My Great Pyrenees puppy is 8 months and already over 100 pounds. They are gentle w children and will turn vicious if something threatens the child or them. They look scary when they get ready to fight. They can get up to a healthy weight of 150 160. Which anything over 100 is considered gigantic. A 100 pound dog can easily knock you off your feet easily. Nevermind a 160 pound dog.

    Do you see what people can do to animals they don't want?! I've seen some of the most 'horrific' treatment done to dogs/cats/puppies/kittens, even Farm Animals that you can't even 'discuss' but your acting like this Owner, who took their dog to a 'Humane Center' is some sort of EVIL! I would rather people who have a 'Humane' facility take their UNWANTED pet there then to leave them under bridges and in desert areas or locked up in some abandoned home or apartment where they're NOT FED OR WATERED any day of the week. At least these dogs have a 'shot' at getting ADOPTED.

      I agree with you, we live out in the high desert and people are always dumping their dogs out here. I have a male pit bull and his name is Rusty, We found his mother out here. She had a rope around her neck. She was severely dehydrated and starved. You could see that she had just given birth. There were no puppies! We loved her and she thrived. We were going to get her fixed but she managed to dig under the neighbors fence and several weeks later she gave birth to nine pit bull puppies. We kept Rusty but the rest went to other homes. I helped her take care of the puppies. It was so much work! Our friend took Mazy as she loves him so much. She picked him. We have Rusty. He's amazing and runs like a Greyhound. He's very protective. It's the local, no kill shelter who helps us when dogs who have been dumped show up here or in town. They helped us find homes for Mazys pups. Someone even dumped a Rottweiler out here. He was a yr. Old. I'm always sad when I find dogs out here. Recently a pack of them showed up over here abd attacked Rusty. I immediately ran outside with a metal pole to help him. They were intent on taking his territory. There is guaranteed food and water. They got him good but he is now doing well. He was mauled but he has healed well. It's a mess out here. If it wasn't for the nearest shelter, it would be so much worse. I wish people could see just how much animals have to offer. They are incredible companions! I know my dog would give his life to save me. I pray this never happens. He is family.

      @@shanakinztruebeliever1547 If they have somewhere 'safe' to take them at least you'll be able to tell between the EVIL people and those who just 'bit off more than they can chew' because caring for an animal can be just as expensive as caring for your kids. That happens a lot too, the wrong owners pick the wrong dogs or they don't take into consideration how much caring for the animal may cost or they move and can't take the animal with them. This category of Owners need somewhere SAFE to take these pets. I'm glad you have a place where you live, maybe the village can help them EXPAND to take on more animals.

      One of the three shepherds? Leaving only two to manage the whole operation? LGD's get into battles with wolves and bears all over the world and sometimes have the same fate as this warrior. You just never hear of it.

Even if she hadn't been awake or present for the attack, she would have at least had a firearm to put her dog out of its pain! Her dog suffered because she was unprepared! @markradzwion5547

    Seems to me in an area of that size and the number of predators present especially with wolves you would have more than 7 dogs to protect a heard of that size? I’d be thinking at least 12-15 would be needed? I know they hope the dogs aren’t in real physical confrontations with bears and wolves but that’s going to happen.

    Omg this video makes me angry. Just because Great Pyrenees are working dogs doesn't mean they should be neglected. The one that got attackedby wolves, instead of getting it care or putting it out of it misery, they let it suffer all night until it dies. And these dogs are severely matted, which can be painful for the dog! This lady could take the time to brush them, they really only need a good brushing once a week. And with a sheep flock that size, they need more dogs. So sad to see Tiger all scarred and beat up because he doesn't have enough help.

    • @marystratiff2353
      @marystratiff2353 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Probably because they were in the middle of nowhere on a secluded mountain. They traveled to wherever they were on foot. Those LGD (livestock guardian dogs) can get upwards of 150 to 180 lbs. You're not just going to carry one off a mountain without some kind of vehicle. And even if someone did have the strengh to carry a LGD off the mountain, would they be able to do it in time to save the dog's life? That would depend on if they were within a day's walk while carrying that kind of added weight to either a vet clinic or at the very least a vehicle that could take them the rest of the way. Not only that, but they would be down be least the shepherd carrying the dog and at least one other dog because all the predators are still out there and will the scent of blood. This would put the flock, the other dogs, and the shepherds in more danger of other predators. The woman has working dogs. They are different then a family pet. They usually get the best of medical care and food and love from the shepherds and farmers who employ them, but there are hazards to being a predator deterrant.

      They didn't take the injured dog to a vet because they were in the back country. If you don't understand guardian dogs are all about, don't be judgemental. It's the same as an working dog. For example, K-9 police dogs are put in danger every day. As far as retiring the old dog, his health would further deteriorate if he was removed from what he loves.
