I suffered severe anxiety years ago. I could remember several years ago, I got diagnosed with cptsd. Suffered severe anxiety and mental disorder. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.

100% agree I used to have Psychosis and paranoid thoughts like "people thinking about me talking about me etc. Very odd behavior after getting off Adderall from 7-16. Antidepressants at 18-29. 31 now. I took way to much, but took about 20g of Gold caps (Psilocybin containing mushroom) I analyzed my entire life. The emotions that came out helped me understand behavior etc more. Wont ever need to do it again because I'm happy and contempt forever, but I wish more people did this to alter their perception of reality. Would help with healing much trauma

Have they tried you on a nightly dose of Guanfacine or Clonidine yet? They specifically target the "fight or flight" response by reducing the amount of norepinephrine in circulation. These are gaining popularity in treating anxiety and PTSD, since they have fewer side effects and don't have the same risks of addiction or dependence as typical anxiety medications. They can also address insomnia and prevent migraines. Although they're FDA-approved to treat ADHD and to manage blood pressure, the smaller doses they use in treating anxiety won't lower blood pressure that much.

I was reading a book about hormones. Hormones can have such a huge effect on the anxiety profile it’s quite incredible! The book called the ageless man. These guys who were suffering from depression, anxiety, diabetes, all were treated by simply putting the testosterone back into the normal range.
I had my hormones checked and they were all over the place. As soon as my doctor balanced them, I felt fine. I felt how I did when I was 14 again, not having a care in the world and happy!
My thoughts go out to everyone who is suffering! You’re all not alone!

I think one of the worst parts about anxiety is that it prevents people from actually seeking treatment, be it fear of the actual social interaction, or the fear that your doctor will think you're just trying to get drugs, especially if you've done some research on your own time and bring up a specific medication, most notably benzodiazepines. On top of that, reading about side effects and experiences from other people online doesn't help either.
When it comes to the side effects though, it's worth noting that many people are taking these medications and aren't having any significant problems. A lot of people sharing their experiences in online forums in most cases are going to be the most vocal minority who experienced negative side effects, so always pay close attention to the positives, because it has to have really made a difference if it drives them to go online and talk about it.

I have PTSD/anxiety from the sudden loss of my Son. My heart got way out of whack on benzo's. My saving grace is 25 mg hydroxyzine as needed. It works wonderful for me. I know I can take it if I am going to be in a situation that will set me off. It did make me sleepy at first, but not now. I also keep my mind busy with adult coloring, painting and reading. It helps me. I hope this will help someone else.

I took hydroxyzine for situational anxiety some years back, at a standard 25mg dose. It would absolutely knock me out in less than half an hour. Downside was I was always asleep. Upside? I guess technically it stopped my anxiety since I was always asleep. My doctor told me to stop taking it immediately, however, since the effects shouldn't be that strong.

Mindfulness, a calm environment with less caffeine & TV has been effective for me. Discontinuing anxiety medications is a very anxious experience; worse than what you think requires medication in the first place. Cannabis is a natural alternative for some folks as well. Valerian, Cava Cava & chamomile are helpful to many. Some form of centering meditation or just a few minutes alone can help to calm the mind. Writing out what one finds overwhelming is shown to be quite effective too.

My son truly benefits from Diazepam to help him with his extreme anxiety. He would like to be able to take a 5mg. tablet twice a day and I believe there’s a huge difference between being addicted and being dependent. My 34 year old son is a big guy and had terrible side effects from Xanax that made him feel worse. I’m very grateful that Valium has been so helpful for him getting some decent sleep and being able to interact with people at his place of work. Now he’s in Texas and hasn’t been able to find any mental health support for his anxiety and it’s really frustrating and discouraging. He tried some high quality CBD tablets, but he doesn’t notice a big difference, but he might need to wait a while to get the right dosage.

Cbd oil really helps take the edge off. You need to get full spectrum tincture 3K with some THC content to really have any effect. I am a small girl of 90 lbs and I use that strength, about 5-10 drops on a bad day under the tongue. It helps with sleep also. You can try to get the sleep kind with CBN. I get nausea a lot from perimenopause ovulation and pms and it causes me crippling anxiety during hormonal shifts so I use zofran to combat both the anxiety and nausea and it works great just 4 mg per month which I split in half and just take when I need, but it causes terrible constipation.

I had reactions to benzos, SSRIs, and beta blockers. What worked best for me was a nightly dose of Clonidine, which specifically targets the "fight or flight" panic and anxiety response by reducing the amount of norepinephrine in circulation. • @Dulcimerist
      @Dulcimerist 3 ปีที่แล้ว +15

@@simonram8505 Not really, since it's low dose Clonidine (0.1mg or 0.2mg) before bed to treat issues such as anxiety, PTSD, insomnia, ADHD, and other issues. The mild effect on blood pressure that low dose Clonidine has helps to mimic the normal decrease in blood pressure that happens during sleep, which is why it's a popular medication to treat insomnia in children as well as adults. My blood pressure has actually increased a bit on low dose Clonidine, since it reduces blood pooling in the legs and increases the blood volume in circulation.
The dosing for using Clonidine to manage high blood pressure is higher doses taken throughout the day, which is when you start to see a more noticeable effect on blood pressure.

instant relief. I have been on and off them ever since. I am now in my mid 60's.

a lot of stress. In the late 80's I was taken off them. But I began to gravitate
towards alcohol, getting through at least 3 bottles of gin a week. My then Doctor
put me back on Diazepam at only 2mg and they did take the edge off the Anxiety.
My father has since passed away, and my mother is now severley invalid, and
needs 24/7 care. And the Doctor who originally prescribed the pills has just
retired. So, guess what? the other Doctors have put me on a reduction program,
which means that I will eventually be taken off them completely. My fear is that
I will return to alcohol to find some relief. I live in the UK and Benzodiazepines

I’ve been prescribed 3 different antidepressants for my social anxiety and OCD. I would give anything to get a benzo prescription, but doctors just don’t seem to want to prescribe it to me. I don’t specifically ask them, bc that’s probably a red flag to the doctors, But I’ve told them- I don’t want something I have to take everyday with terrible side effects just in hopes that it will prevent my anxiety. I want something that will GET RID of my anxiety when I’m experiencing it. I want that “I know it’s there if I need it” feeling. Just having that would reduce my anxiety on its own. And I don’t get that with antidepressants. I know benzos can be dangerous, but to me it seems way less dangerous to only take them when you need them, instead of putting 2 different antidepressants in my body EVERY DAY that is doing who knows what to me

Benzodiazepine is not dangerous, look at the long-term studies. They’re shoving that down peoples throats about the addiction and all that garbage part of it because people have abused alcohol and died. The people who truly needed it and don’t abuse it are denied it. I wonder how many people have taken their own lives because they can’t get that medication, it saved my life. The doctors told me I was going to be on some thing the rest of my life. I dread everything they gave me and nothing worked. It only made it worse. Xanax was the only thing that gave me life and now they want to take it away from people, shame on the medical community when medical practices is supposed to be between patient and doctor, not the government!

I have extreme anxiety and Panic attacks...I cannot control when it happens..some days are awful, and some bearable. The problem is when I have several days or weeks of the severe ones ...for really no reason or trigger...by body does start to become addicted and it's absolutely horrible when that happens.

Had a mental breakdown on Wednesday, seen the mental health team (UK) and I need talk therapy, psychotherapy and very likely medication. I've struggled for years going round & round in circles. I'm at the point where I'm losing my Mrs and family through stress anger anxiety and inevitably depression. I know what I need to do in life but it's too difficult to take the first step which makes me more anxious, more stressed, more guilty and more depressed. I'll try and see if I can find one of these to help me until the MHT get things rolling for me but until then Im just falling deeper and deeper into darkness
