There are lots of people like that. Purely like to talk about themselves w/o listening to what others want to say. Usual case, my conversation with them won't last long.
I’m socially awkward, so when I first meet people I usually just keep to myself and I choose to open up when I feel comfortable, but for some reason people translate me being quite and shy as me being rude and thinking I’m too good to talk to them. So people usually don’t like me when they first meet me.
People like this make me laugh. It's like they can't relax around introverts unless they know almost everything there is to know about them which is absurd, silly, irrational and to be honest kind of creepy and suspicious to me. It seems like they're just mad and anxious because they won't have a very big story to tell to other people about you.
Me too! And it’s always annoying when they ask the same stupid question “why are you so shy and quiet?” Like how tf am I supposed to answer to this ? If anything it makes me more socially awkward
Same. Because I dont smile they think iam mad, mean, so serious. I like to speak allot and laugh but, i do it all that but alone . Yes i do talk to myself, and laugh at my own jokes
@@teptime depends on where you live, in the usa or canada most people smile quite often so its just seen as normal behavior, while in europe people tend to have a more closed off approach so smiling can signal something much stronger, its different place to place
@@bellapna this is completely normal in the Nordic countries, smiling at strangers would make people think you are delusional, mentally ill or really high on something.
Basically you're saying people only like you when you're in a good mood. And i genuinely feel those are the worst people to associate with. They'll never be around when you need them.
I think it's more "at first". For example, you might not start to like a person who is not smilling, is gloomy, when you see it for the first times. When you already make friends, they will be with you even if you are not in a good mood. But to make a friend is a long journey and you have to put effort into it.
@@metalman666ization Maybe you just had bad expierences, because people are social beings and most of them wants to make relationships. And of course people may be put off or get scared if you show too much emotion too soon. Especially if they don't know you too well. That's why it's important to work with your psychology and how you treat other people. They are just like you, some of them are sensitive, some of them have problems or anxiety. And they aren't psychologist to help you with your deepest problems/emotions. People often confuse friends with psychologists. It's not the same and shouldn't be.
Also, a morbid cycle: Being depressed -> being sad, unconfident and insecure in a social setting -> trouble making friends -> no one to talk to -> being depressed (and having low social skills, 'cause practice makes perfect) Of course it's not always like this, but what always pissed me off is the fact that happy, energetic people usually have many friends and they could probably even manage with one or two (real) friends and still be happy with life, whereas depressed, traumatized, anxious people have to (again: not always of course) suffer in loneliness which "snowballs" that cycle above This world is so unfair
I think people dislike me because I'm generally quiet and private. And I have overshared on social media in the past, because even though i'm private I wish people knew who I really am I deep down. But I decided to let social media go for other reasons. Honestly I don't really care how people view me anymore, I like myself and the majority of people are temporary anyway
Yeah, n sometimes we "over share" on social media cause we're looking for support. Especially if we're in a situation where we literally cannot get out into the real world, such as disabilities. I've learned that it's good to join groups that understand whatever ur going thru. ❤️
“Every situation in life is temporary. So, when life is good, make sure you enjoy and receive it fully. And when life is not so good, remember that it will not last forever and better days are on the way.”
Outside of ferry tails and cartoons, things get worst fast and they keep getting worst. So if you arent in the position to deal whit it, or someone dont help you, your done. And when you are in that much of a problem hearing friends say "It will pass." or " It will sort it self out" translates to " Not my problem".
This video seems to be completely oblivious that being authentic could make one appear unlikeable in the first place (family of orgin and childhood experience plays a major role here).
@lloydthompsonart No, you didn't get it. Your history of origin and the traits you've acquired can actually make you socially unlikable. And it will feel as being 'authentic' to you.
I always seem to be more comfortable by myself, and even act more like me while I'm alone. For example, if someone else is around, I'm less likely to get up and grab a glass of water. I also avoid crying or singing a lot in front of others. However, when I'm alone I'll cry, sing, talk to myself, work on passion projects, work on problems, come up with ideas, work out, and many other things. I do like playing games with others and talking, but I feel like every moment is more meaningful when I'm alone. Like I don't have to freak out about anything. When I'm with others it's like I'm transported to an alternate dimension, and when they leave, I feel I can be expressive again. I just wanted to vent a little. Have a good day everyone!
same someone help me with this plz i am 14 and i don’t know why it’s just i feel like i don’t belong with my friends i just feel like i’m alone but the real problem is that i don’t feel that i belong and it bothers me because before i could vibe with them be happy and we would all have a smile in our faces but now they all have a good time and i just feel like i don’t belong
Also being a narcissist. When everything is about you and you can care less about others. I was at dinner with a couple friends one night, and one of my girlfriends started sharing a very personal problem she is dealing with at the time. Meanwhile, our other friend was not engaging or listening to her and seemed to not want to be bothered with something that didn't interest her. So she began to look at her phone and watch tik tok videos and started laughing loudly at the table at the videos. Completely oblivious to the other person's pain and feeling the need to talk to a friend and be heard. At that very moment, I decided to slowly let this person go and move on. I have no patience at my age to deal with people like this. Taking selfies at the table, my god.... grow up!
Sharing in the middle of dinner very sensitive issues is also narcissistic since you’re holding everyone hostage! Expecting all adults present to just automatically attend to you at the drop of a hat sounds very immature to me.
@@africanglobalnomad my friend was discussing her mom having dementia and how hard it was to deal with. She rarely opens up like this meanwhile the other friend was drunk on tik tok. Yeah… I made the right choice.
Everytime I get to hang out with more than one friend, it just happens to them to share private things to eachother, and I just always happen to ask "can I also see or hear what you're doing ?" But they are like "oh, just nothing" 😞 it hurts, it feels like I am out of the group
If a person is genuine and doesn't hog or crave the attention I will listen and give them the floor but if your one of those people that need attention and all eyes on you then I would be on my phone too thinking...oh here we go again but it all depends on the person. Some people get my full attention and respect while others get to watch me ignore their cry for attention.
I really admire the fact that you could notice this friends rude behavior and walk away. I would have probably lost respect for that person but still kept contact, but this is a great example of when to let go people that I'll remember. Thanks ❤
You're not a golden coin so that everybody loves you. Best way to live your life is to stop caring about what others think. Workout, build confidence, learn new things, be kind to others without expecting anything, be humble but not spineless, be strict but fair, be nice but not a people pleaser, build and build confidence in yourself and you will eventually achieve all your goals. Do all of these things for you. Don't be a people pleaser, if you want happiness think of yourself but do not abandon people that you love. Keep your mind occupied with goals and don't worry about what others think. At the end of the day, the only one that is going to get your goals done is yourself. I leave this message here if anyone needs reading it.
I really needed to read this. I remember back in middle school & high school I always tried be a people pleaser and act certain way just to get people to laugh and to get approval and all it did was have people treat me badly and not respect me. Still dealing with confidence issues to this day. Thanks for your message. I made sure to screenshot it🔥💯
I wish. So many ppl are very judgemental but then refuse to self reflect. Why ppl with ASD have such a hard time. While ppl that can navigate these situations but are quite horrible objectively get included
I have the feeling that, if you´re different from what people consider "normal", then they don´t like you. If you´re swimming against the stream, instead of with it, people seem to dislike you much faster. If you´re speaking up against things and tell other people that you don´t like this or that, then they dislike you as well. People even tent to dislike you when you suddenly say "no" to certain things you always said "yes" to before. Why can´t they just try to understand each other better? Why don´t they question the reasons for your decisions instead of immediately judging and disliking you? Why do we have to try to be someone else to be liked by others? It´s rare to be able to be yourself around other people because they might tend to dislike you for that.
I just tey not to worry to much about what other people think and just do what I think is good. Some people like me and whoever doesn't I don't worry about. I'm happy how i am and with the friends who do like me. Just be you and people will like you anyway if they are worth it.I've always been different and I am happy that way. Why be normal?
I like your comment it truly resonates with me, when you think differently, you swim against the grain, and when you stand up for yourself people don’t like that. People treat me like shit and it hurts a lot I’ve never fitted in anywhere since l was a kid, people treat me poorly. Like you were saying, you stand up for what’s right, and people treat you like shit. I’ve done that.
Yeess. Thank you for writing this. Totally agree with everything you said. It's funny because I was just talking to someone and found out that a person doesn't like me because I'm weird. But now that I read your message, I feel a lot better. You're right, it would be better if people just talked to us first instead of judging. There is nothing wrong with being different.
My Grandfather gave me a great piece of advice. Be Happy! Find something to laugh about every day. Don't let others interfere with your peace or happiness. And love yourself.

I would like broader research done on the “ smile more” one. I have met with many people outside of the US and even people within the US where smiling isn’t exactly looked at as a good thing. Turns out, it makes people uncomfortable, even suspicious. I personally think it’s more of a case by case basis and we should just stick with “ don’t fake emotions”.
I think smiling is universally friendly, although you can tell which ones are fake. However, I've never seen someone complain about a genuine smile and I'd be interested to hear what you find. Let us know! :)
Smile when you don’t feel like it and keep your opinions to yourself but don’t fake emotions or be inauthentic. Got it. Got it. Neurotypical folk are not okay.
They literally said, smile whenever you feel like it. They didn't say smile when you don't feel like it. Why bring neurotypical-ness into it? I'm on the spectrum and understood what it meant. Perhaps you should try turning the captions on if you feel like you have misheard something?
@@inferiorinferno8859 what if you dont smile much but just so people will like you, you force yourself to smile for everyone else. i know the video said smile whenever you can but that can be a struggle to some. theyre literally saying you have to smile so people like you but be yourself what if myself is someone who doesnt smile especially when i dont want to.
As a nonneurotypical person, I agree beyond 10000%. Then again, I am the type to always smile, that's just my face. 🤷♀️I also share opinions no matter way. I wasn't taught to lie or be fake. My mother stated that if I am placed on a lying detecting machine, the machine would malfunction over being heart broken at how honest and sincere I am. 🥰I am a terrible liar. I just can't. It'd be interesting to have a video describing the differences between humblebragging, virtue signalling and genuinely being humble/good/kind/self-confident. For someone with anxiety and depression, I find it difficult to talk about myself or sell myself in interviews because I don't want to come across as arrogant/selfish etc. Especially since humblebragging and virtue signalling are thrown around as insults when people are doing something good, like posting a photo of themselves volunteering, or talking about something they're doing.
I think some level of openly flaunting/bragging should be acceptable... especially when you're proud of something you've accomplished or succeeded in. I personally feel happy for other people when I see they've accomplished something that they're proud of. In moderation, of course. I'm confused 😅...
Yes this is a great idea! I need examples since I tend to find myself overthinking these concepts! Often I see one small example of something and it frames my whole mindset on how to do it, so yeah this is a great idea!
In 2021, speaking the TRUTH is what makes people not like you. Have the courage to speak truth. At least you’ll like yourself. Most people aren’t going to “like” you unless you can do something for them.
That might be true to some, but please keep the idea that there are others who like you for you and have good intentions. Being honest is good yet people might feel intimidated if you just say everything without filter. Finding another way to phrase things still counts as being honest. People who only like you for favors are toxic but not everyone is the same. I hope this helps.

Then it might be a more internal thing and issues with your self and self-confidence. I’m like that too but we all have to remind ourselves that at the end of the day, people are more concerned with themselves then they are with other people. And who knows. It also might be that they act a certain way because they too also have internal issues they’re struggling with and like to project it towards others.

You just need to find friends you don't secretly hate or envy. Sound obvious, but sometime we try to be friends with people we are somehow competing against them, and that can't really work out. Real friends, you find caring for them natural and the right thing.

This is so weird, everyone around me instantly thinks I'm being rude. I don't smile, I have a poker face sometimes, and I avoid talking to others, I get eye rolls, people glare at me, or even some flip me off. It actually sucks because I'm not trying to look like I don't care :(
It makes you look at yourself a different way when you realize someone dislikes you. I’ve recently had a lot of my friends ghost me and unadd me and now I can’t look at myself in any good way. I feel like I’m just here for nothing until I breathe my last breath. I have never thought about myself like this until people started disliking me. I’m so depressed 😞
Something that I've noticed that causes people to possibly not liked is me being self aware. Trying to learn how to be more self aware but it's really difficult
I always disliked those who think that THEIR successes and failures in life are of supreme importance, and anyone else’s differing paths are “unusual” or “weird”. Personal tastes as well. The world doesn’t revolve around your joys OR your gripes!
I feel like if you don’t like someone because of these reasons you are a control freak. I don’t care how many photos my friends post or if they brag about something. I want good things for them. If that makes them feel good it makes me feel good.
The people who used to praise me mock me,the one who used to respect me jokes about me the girls who used to always talk to me nicely now speak ill to me. I am a loser,a person incapable of doing what I truly want and achieving the thing I want but I have a hope that someone or something will pull this loser up and make me better.

Somewhere there's probably a video titled *"6 Behaviors That Make People Like You and How To Stop It."* 1)Do more social media 2)Start humblebragging 3)Stop smiling 4) Constantly criticize 5) Fake emotions 6) Start using emoji in formal email...
I never hide my emotions. I always tell the truth. Sometimes it can be Harsh, but I can't help it, the truth is the truth. And that's my biggest problem.
It ain't humble bragging the person listening is just listening with a jealous heart. A person is literally saying I'm not doing well and all you are getting from it is the person is bragging.
I think it’s weird that not posting at all is preferred over posting. The whole point of social media is to post and it’s so true people don’t like me because I post too much and I get insecure about it and just deactivate all my accounts because no cares about seeing me succeed because I’m not a typical “pretty” girl. Story is people only care about your happiness if you are attractive, rich, or posting something about them.. social media is a sick and twisted game.
I had this one girl I was friends with who multiple times lied and criticised others, and she was obsessed with one of my best friends to the point where she’d be asking questions every millisecond and lying about who my best friend was dating and that she was sick and wasn’t at school (even though I literally saw my best friend an hour ago) 😂 This video made me remember her cause most of this is listed with her and how she was treated by people in class
I really disliked the one about people not liking you for putting any emojis in a formal email.
Also, a morbid cycle: Being depressed -> being sad, unconfident and insecure in a social setting -> trouble making friends -> no one to talk to -> being depressed (and having low social skills, 'cause practice makes perfect)
Of course it's not always like this, but what always pissed me off is the fact that happy, energetic people usually have many friends and they could probably even manage with one or two (real) friends and still be happy with life, whereas depressed, traumatized, anxious people have to (again: not always of course) suffer in loneliness which "snowballs" that cycle above
This world is so unfair
I think people dislike me because I'm generally quiet and private. And I have overshared on social media in the past, because even though i'm private I wish people knew who I really am I deep down. But I decided to let social media go for other reasons. Honestly I don't really care how people view me anymore, I like myself and the majority of people are temporary anyway
Good for you
Relatable. Social media is one way for people to know more about me :)
Doesn't this count as social media?
Yeah, n sometimes we "over share" on social media cause we're looking for support. Especially if we're in a situation where we literally cannot get out into the real
world, such as disabilities. I've learned that it's good to join groups that understand whatever ur going thru. ❤️

Absolutely! When you're living your best life and smiling, people will find reasons to dislike you.
@lloydthompsonart No, you didn't get it. Your history of origin and the traits you've acquired can actually make you socially unlikable. And it will feel as being 'authentic' to you.

It is aesthetic style :D
Same makes me feel really comfy
Light hues and colors or something like that.
Yes

Sounds like you need new friends. "What a friend we have in Jesus".

Often I see one small example of something and it frames my whole mindset on how to do it, so yeah this is a great idea!
it's all well and good to tell people to express their emotions until it bites them in the ass.

#3 not smiling
Face masks: we don't do that here
Put a smiley onto it. Oh wait that makes you unserious. We are doomed.
@@wernerhiemer406 double standards do suck and they're a large reason why there's so much hatred in the world.
I won't wear one. Body language is essential.
It makes you look at yourself a different way when you realize someone dislikes you. I’ve recently had a lot of my friends ghost me and unadd me and now I can’t look at myself in any good way. I feel like there’s someone wrong with me that’s causing people to not want anything to do with me. I didn’t do anything wrong and I still don’t know why people do this do me 😭. I have TERRIBLE anxiety and I can’t talk to anybody unless they talk to me first. I feel like a mistake and I feel like I have no purpose. I feel like I’m just here for nothing until I breathe my last breath. I have never thought about myself like this until people started disliking me. I’m so depressed 😞
Try to do good things to some people and the right people will be attracted to you😊that's my belief in life
I also hate when someone laughs at me when I’m clearly being serious. Offensive. Very disrespectful.
Thats so true
Something that I've noticed that causes people to possibly not liked is me being self aware. Trying to learn how to be more self aware but it's really difficult
I love this video, the animations are so cute and well done!
I really didn't get the photos and bragging thing either!
The people who used to praise me mock me,the one who used to respect me jokes about me the girls who used to always talk to me nicely now speak ill to me.
I am a loser,a person incapable of doing what I truly want and achieving the thing I want but I have a hope that someone or something will pull this loser up and make me better.
"You are interesting as long as you are interested." -some acting professor
Don't forget to smile guys! With your mask on.
“You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time.” - John Lydgate
Literally EVERYONE I meet ends up disliking me even if they liked me at first. I genuinely don’t understand why. I’m a bit awkward but besides that idk what it could be. I even feel like I’m OVERLY friendly at times. But everyone ends up drifting away from me. Every. One. I need to know what I’m doing wrong 😞
Fr
Phillipians 4:13
Do not be anxious about anything but by prayer and petition, present your request before the Lord, and the peace of God which transcends all understanding shall rest on you.
Alot of people are lost and faking everything, pretending to be better than they are, when you see it this way you wouldn't even care about what you're doing that bothers them because it could be a number of different things and it's more about them than you, alot of people can't get past their judgements and prejudices because they themselves hate themselves and are insecure, good luck to you
Somewhere there's probably a video titled *"6 Behaviors That Make People Like You and How To Stop It."*
1)Do more social media
2)Start humblebragging
3)Stop smiling
4) Constantly criticize
5) Fake emotions
6) Start using emoji in formal email...
I hate how people just expect us to be happy all the time.
Being angry will definitely turn people off. I lost a few important relationships because of my anger/attitude
At this point, I just don't care at all. Life is too short, you just can't and won't please everybody no matter what you say/do or not say/do.
When I saw the title, I watched to make sure I was doing at least _five_ of them ...
I don't care if people don't like me anymore
I think it’s weird that not posting at all is preferred over posting. The whole point of social media is to post and it’s so true people don’t like me because I post too much and I get insecure about it and just deactivate all my accounts because no cares about seeing me succeed because I’m not a typical “pretty” girl. Story is people only care about your happiness if you are attractive, rich, or posting something about them.. social media is a sick and twisted game.
“Smile”
“Don’t fake your emotions” how tf do I get through this?
2:23 I do smile... I fake smile and pretend everything is right with the world
1. "Oversharing on social media"
Me who copes with oversharing: 😟😟
I had this one girl I was friends with who multiple times lied and criticised others, and she was obsessed with one of my best friends to the point where she’d be asking questions every millisecond and lying about who my best friend was dating and that she was sick and wasn’t at school (even though I literally saw my best friend an hour ago) 😂
This video made me remember her cause most of this is listed with her and how she was treated by people in class
“People can tell when you are being inauthentic” bahahahah no they sure as hell cannot.
Her voice makes me sleepy ...it's so comforting and satisfying..
I really disliked the one about people not liking you for putting any emojis in a formal email. Emails are generally so cold, so detached, so corporate feeling, that I decided to add some emojis to remind myself, and others that I am human, and that they are too. ❤️ What spurred me to search this topic, is me trying to understand why so many viewers on TH-cam do not like me, or my content , enough to subscribe, click like, or leave a positive comment, etc. I have low self esteem when it comes to my TH-cam channel.
Im one step ahead of yall, everyone hates me just because i exist
i do not follow any of these... yet people naturally just dislike me. I kinda got used to it so its not a big deal anymore
Thats the difference between you and I. I genuinely dont care about what others think about me. Really, I dont like people enough to care.
There is nothing wrong with Being Alone all the time! I have been alone for the last yr and it has been so refreshing to know I don’t or want have any need to become engaged with others! You should try it!
I like how TH-cam recommends this to me XD
"Not smiling"
I know smiling is an obvious factor to how people perceive you but the fact that I'm someone who never smiles unless they find something funny or gets shy.... *:'- )*
