So during vlogmas my mother had been in the hospital for almost the whole month of December. So at night I watched vlogmas to decompress. Well last week mom went back into the hospital and she passed away Thursday night. Yesterday I watched Disney vlogs on Tyler’s channel and today I’m watching this. It just felt good to see some normalcy. You guys make me smile 💗 thank you both!

On the decluttering piece, for Jess and Tyler but for anyone else who has family who accumulates stuff because of the sentimentality of it: work through that with a therapist! It can truly help, both for you to see patterns in why, and unpack family history etc. I had to clean out my parents home which was essentially a hoarder house because everything meant something to my parents, which in turn meant everything meant nothing. Items weren't stored properly, were damaged, and everything from my childhood went in the garbage. It's NOT worth your feelings about STUFF to do that to your family. ❤❤ Lots of love to anyone doing the same.
This video is a constant back & forth vibe between “we’d have a tiff if not for this camera” & “I love you so much if not for this camera I’d take you right now” and I love it!

My husband and I sold our house and put our things in storage. (We are empty nesters and traveling full time). It’s amazing how much stuff we got rid of, and now there are even more things that I could probably have decluttered. It feels very freeing.
After Jess was talking about how good a father Tyler is I was full expecting for there to be a cut right then….and maybe some messy hair when u came back 😉…….u guys are so cute. It’s so obvious you’re completely smitten with the other and it’s so refreshing to see!

When you both started talking about how it's worth to wait for your person, I almost teared up. As I'm closer to 40 than 20, sometimes I wonder if the love boat sailed past me completely. But you guys give me hope. I love how you make each other laugh and compliment each other. You guys are just a lovely couple!
I'm 40, and haven't found a great match yet. I've found some gnarly ones. I thought that part was nice too, but my mind also immediately told me that I am the one for me lol.
Okay this video was so great for self reflection in my own marriage, so thank you for being honest and vulnerable. When you said you tend to steam roll Tyler I felt that in my gut. I do the same thing and it’s sometimes hard to see in the moment.

I’ve been watching your channel since the very start and I love longer videos where you get chatty with us. It feels like a visit with a friend. The longer, the better. I love seeing the two of you together, your love and respect for each other is so strong and obviously true.

21:07 This was SUCH a fun video! The discussion about who is more sentimental when it comes to getting rid of stuff…OH BOY. My fiancé and I have this argument all of the time, it’s probably one of our biggest arguments. I am like Jessica, where I don’t feel the need to keep things that aren’t getting used (especially when I’m desperate for some form of organization), and he gets so mad if I get rid of stuff he wanted to keep since he can be super sentimental. He also has absolutely no sense of space, and how much room things physically take up. We have spent the last 4 years in LA and are planning on moving back home to Chicago this summer, and I am already getting anxious about our relationship surviving this move ONLY because of that. (Kidding, but not really……😂)

Neither of my parents were “into” theater, but it was a full family affair growing up! All the kiddos spent time on stage or on stage crew, mom sewed costumes, and dad built sets! One of the best, most formative experiences!! 😍

Loved this video! You both are inspiring. I appreciate your take on healthy relationships. My husband and I are very physically affectionate (appropriately!) in front of our kids and really, everywhere. My kids are used to it and don’t bat an eye (they are like this, too) and they have many friends who don’t bat an eye, either, but it’s obvious when people aren’t used to being around and seeing touching. My daughter recently told me that she hopes one day she has a relationship like us. I asked her what that meant, she couldn’t put words to it and eventually said, “I guess, happy!” It’s not like we don’t argue or go through lows, but it’s important for kids to be exposed to some of this and seeing parents work through things. My parents have been together 50 years and interestingly, throughout my childhood, didn’t display much affection. It wasn’t until I met my husband and was openly affectionate with him that my parents started doing the same. I hope that they weren’t trying to spare us discomfort, kids are glad to see their parents love each other! That’s certainly not the right relationship for everyone, but if it is right for you and you’re holding back, give it some thought.

My husband and I are exactly the same with decluttering, but the opposite. I would keep EVERYTHING, which I am working on. But my husband would just throw away everything in sight without glancing twice at it. It’s definitely our biggest source of tension.
Good morning! Loved this Q&A. I'm all about touch in family relationships. So important for children to see their parents hug and kiss. I grew up in the 5Os and 60s where that just wasn't done. I'm going to be a worrying mom now because I just love you two. I worry about how much coffee you drink. None of my business and I used to drink it a lot too. Loved my morning coffee. Please be sure to tell your doctor if you have a lot of reflux/heartburn. If not treated properly it can lead to a precancerous condition called Barrett's Esophagus. Coffee is a culprit along with many foods. Ok. No more being an alarmist. I'm sorry. I love Elin Hilderbrand books! I've read so, so many and I've loved every single one! This was a wonderful way to start my Sunday! ❤

Yesss the minimal mom is LIFE!! We are now a family of 5 in 1500 sq ft living minimally. The first house we bought as a family of 3 was over 2000 and I am sooo much happier living simpler.

I do community theater and have since I was little. My mom was in the shows with me and my dad ran concessions. It really shaped me into who I am and I still do shows. My parents never miss a show, I recommend that everyone does it at least once.

tyler, i'm with you on the commute thing! my company is fully remote now, but we still have our office space until the lease runs out. i have a great desk setup at home, but i still drive 45mins+ each way to the office three days a week so i can have my alone time in the car. i don't get that quality audiobook time anytime else!
