    Impressive for either one given the size. The difference in torque is only about 2.4%! Since I’m on the Makita platform it’s nice that it won but admittedly in everyday use it’s unlikely anyone will come across a situation where that makes or breaks either. Basically the consumers win.

    I think I would call it "even" ; both are excellent quality (I have both). I do think the Makita is finished off with more attention to detail.

    Cant speak for the Makita but the Milwaukee sure lays down some power for its size. It’s faster than their high torque and it is so short and lightweight that it gets into really tight spots.

      Reverse on a skidmore is still tightening. Nut busting is loosening. Only way to test an impact for nut busting to match a brand's methods is with a Ouija board. All depends on the bolt and nut used.

      Makita pwr tools are indeed elegant looking, love the teal myself when it comes to tools, but their biggest 18v battery stops at only 6.0Ah! (at least until today) unlike other companies, like fr example, Milwaukee have 12.0Ah batteries. which I don’t get why Makita doesn’t go any further with that

      Dont underestimate the Makitas modes, they really thought them through and tuned them. Then there is the battery discharge limiter that prevents deep drain on Makita batteries, deep drain is very damaging to li-ion batteries. And weight, Makita tools will perform best with tiny batteries, Milwaukee is a lot more dependent on using top of the line batteries to perform well.

    Would be nice to see max reverse torque on a similar kind of rig. Makita is supposed to be rated much higher for reverse torque. Also, regarding your comments about the cheap friction ring on Makita - Japanese reviews of XTW14 and XWT17 all show same cheap-looking ring. • @ned8936
      @ned8936 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Specs show both tools to be the same length. I didn't check the height. The Makita being actually a couple lbs heavier. In this particular case, a bit heavier doesn't bother me so long as it's not burdensome. I'd actually say it might be encouraging depending on where the weight was. If it were an impact driver it'd be a deal breaker. But I'm sure Makita is well aware of how this tool will be used, and designed accordingly.
      I'm in the Makita line. I find the tools to be much harder to get a hold of than Milwaukee, but the users to be much more tolerable...😜 If you don't have a good place to purchase them, that may understandably be a deal breaker for some. I don't mind a challenge, and I know they won't let me down on quality buying sight unseen.

  • @JaegerWrenching
    @JaegerWrenching 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    It appears there is an anvil size difference between the two impacts, the Milwaukee has a 3/8" and the Makita is 1/2". Look at the picture @0.02 there is no way that makita anvil will fit that socket pictured, and the Milwaukee's its off screen but probably does. This imo is filmed in a deceptive perspective to begin with, like you're hiding the anvil and socks for a reason.

      My only argument there is if I need to upgrade the battery to still compete then what's the point. It's more the line of using existing batteries/kit batteries. Both pronamd consumer side. Yes if you're really needing the improvement then you should be using then next stage of tool versus pushing the limit of your current tool. I own both tools in different applications I've just never understood the "push it harder" factor.
