Every single episode of the Defect. Ryan gets frost. Ryan gets some focus. Its lookin, spiiiicy. Up appears a capacitor, giving him 60% more orb space and goodness. What does he do? Take scrape.

Did NL just take scrape, over capacitor when he already has a defrag?
There is only all for one defect, everything else is trash waiting to be removed

NL is... special and he sees Scrape as "gas" that gets him through his crappy cards and to his better ones... while not realizing that he's just fucking himself over because Scrape without a bunch of 0 cost cards just ends up screwing you over completely. he only sees Capacitor as Consume fodder. otherwise, he thinks its trash. he doesn't see it as 10 extra damage or 8 extra block. he even said, "well, we don't have any zero cost cards, but i'm willing to give it a shot".
this isn't the first time he's done it either. this is the same guy who didn't check the path fuly and realized he'd have to fight FOUR elites... and then skipped a free one for no reason. he also completely disrespects Streamline and hates Sunder, even though he loves Bludgeon.

Have to rewind the tape, but that curse may have cost him the second run by stopping his deck from cycling

Literally the worst choice he could have made there. "Hey my deck really depends on streamline and claw, two cards that benifit greatly from card draw and a small deck, lets take this relic that only really works if I take a lot of cards and base my run around it!"

@@graysonguinn1943 an upgraded stack very easily can be 10 or more block for 1 energy on a bad turn especially with a multitude of ways to draw more card. Even better when those cards cost 0.
stack is incredible in even a medium sized deck. if youve got a deck that can play a lot of things, it can even be good turn 1.

Seriously, I'm gonna have to tweet him about darkness I think. Upgraded, and with an upgraded dual cast it basically wins the entire first floor for 1 energy.
He also undervalues chill criminally.
@@iami3rian394 Chill baffles me. He highly rates frost orbs and 0 cost cards (even when they do nothing for him, unlike chill) but chill somehow is terrible to him.

I've gotten away from watching every StS video but occasionally pop by head in and have been happy to see he figured out Frost is the One True Faith but what really brings me joy is not looking that he is taking a 4 elite path then panics and skips a 1hp elite for no reason.
He still doesn't understand dark orbs either.

Correct it has never been the case.
Although what you mean is that it doesn't skip block. It never has. NL just doesn't read the screen, and he has no understanding of dark orbs at all. I've been saying this for weeks now.

The total disregard for HP in NL’s play is making me shiver every time. Him passing on a 1hp elites was the cherry on top of a cake.
This was the first video I had to turn off after the first attempt and come back later to finish.
Tactics 4/10, Strategy 3/10. Taking Prism is a sure, sure sign of just "YOLO", but unfortunately the gods of Zane didn't help enough.

- NL forgets the Free Elite after mentioning it. Technically, there's a case to be made for the upgrade, but, yeah not good.
- I like FTL with the Kunai.
- Some bad targeting on the Sentries - I think NL should have targeted the center Sentry to set up for the next try.
- As it turns out, the free elite path was bait the whole time and he shouldn't have even tried it.
- Playing Buffer wouldn't have saved him, but he still should have tried.
Act 1, part 2:
- Early Streamline, nice.
- I do like NL taking the Relic proactively and not just settling for the max HP. He gets rewarded with an early Toxic Egg, which is always nice.
- Would take the Streamline upgrade over the Zap upgrade. Nob is gonna be an issue.
- Barrage would be better than Beam Cell IMO. NL stacks it extremely quickly and it's also a multihit for Byrds.
- 3 Coolheadeds is most likely too many.
- All for One seems like the easy choice here, and with 3 Coolheadeds and All for One, I think Snecko is more than takeable (even with 3 0 cost cards). Sozu is still Sozu, though.
Act 2, part 2:
- Tossing the Dex Potion over the Gold is a bad idea. NL so far is very vulnerable to Hyper Beam.
- Turbo+ is huge with an All for One deck, as is Overclock. I'd take the Overclock because of the rarity and the faster card draw, though.
- The only buy I actually like is Doom and Gloom. I think Boot Sequence is much better than Self Repair or Bandage up, especially since he can fetch it again.
- With Toxic Egg, I think the Apparitions are huge to survive Hyper Beams, even at the cost of 30 HP. NL doesn't really have anything in the way of burst block, which is a large issue against the Automaton.
Act 1, part 3:
- Reboot doesn't do anything, really. Yet, that is - 0 cost cards will be real big, as will Streamlines and such.
- The muscle memory is entrenching itself.
- Don't think NL should have played the Strikes over the Defends - I think he had the fight under control anyways and could have stemmed the bleeding.
- Scrape can hit Reboot, but I'd probably prefer to see Capacitor or Steam Barrier.
- Second Reboot is... well, it's certainly interesting. Enables 0 cost archetypes fairly well and helps fish for Streamline. Not like the others are great. I would have taken Inserter to drastically ease the scaling requirement, since NL will spam orbs like no tomorrow - with Capacitor, Nuclear Battery would be better, but as it is it's almost just a Lantern++.
Act 2, part 3:
- I don't think the deck needs another Streamline. Go for the Eyes seems better.
- NL just tilting, I think.
- All For One seems like a potentially great pick with some of the other class's 0 cost stuff.
- Power Potion probably should be saved for the boss. NL's scaling is horrid.
- I think NL needs Metallicize just for some semblance of scaling.

I do not claim to be amazing at this game, very few people can. But I would just like to provide info you might find helpful. When building decks, think of it like building two smaller decks in one, an offense deck and a defense deck. Also Steam Barrier gets scooped up by OFA and with toxic egg, you can get free block, then cycle OFA as often as possible by grabbing it with a hologram. just some thoughts.
Uh, actually Metalicize is better than a single frost orb and it doesn't take up an orb slot...
I don't understand why egg didn't use coolheaded to try and draw dualcast for the dark orbs. Maybe then he could have won on the second bossfight

I was wondering how long it will take him to realize that he should really work on his pathing cause not looking at the whole map is a dumb decision. Turns out, when he tries to look at the path, he skips free elites.

Self repair is objectively a bad card. 7hp unupped isn't worth it, and it's almost never worth an upgrade.
It's far, far better to get a decent defensive card (like the charged battery you underrate in a zero cost heavy draw deck.

I think skipping the free elite might be the worst play he's ever made -- worse than the pot play. From the beginning, his plan was the get the free elite and it was the whole reason he made his starting decision from Neow. Then when he got there he passed it up for no reason other than panic. Unfathomable.
Yeah it was really bad, but not even close to the pot play.

Hell, that's almost good play compared to his card valuations. He passes game winning cards almost daily, and I've never seen him make a good shop play.
