NL loss streak stats: 77 deaths since the last win (episode 431)
Ironclad: 34 deaths in a row (last win episode 424)
Silent: 24 deaths in a row (last win episode 431)
Defect: 41 deaths in a row (last win episode 406)
Fun fact. Episode 431 was also the last time he removed a card on the first floor and didn't ballooned a deck to over 20 cards on the first 10 fights
Can we actually do a class action lawsuit for him upgrading limit break with no strength gain in his deck?

Every time this madman plays snecko oil it bites him so hard but he's a slave to the RNG. One of these days he will learn to just throw that thing away. And Snecko eye is very rarely takeable, and basically should never be taken in a20 because you don't RNG your way to victory in a20.
NL, just know some relics are great at certain times, the boot with a sword boomerang, pummel, or riddle with holes is great

NL has selective vision and only sees juggernauts apparently. Whirlwind for 35 damage to all enemies was the obviously best play. Lost 35 HP because of it. He makes mistakes like this quite often, and he's not gonna be winning A20 any time soon unless he stops doing them.
He does a similar mistake at 13:00. Here, let me lose out on 14 damage to both enemies to play juggernaut. In order to make that worthwhile, he has to play 6 blocks in the best case scenario since they aren't guaranteed to do 5 damage in some cases. How do you get block? By playing skills (except for iron wave in this case). Oh wait, the Nob gains strength from skills. probably going to have to give the Nob 15 strength to make juggernaut have the same damage efficacy. Granted, rage can change the math there because it can apply multiple instances of block.
NL only wins when the game hands it to him a massively overpowered combination.
At this point he isn't even looking at what is happening, he is just throwing cards at the enemy and hoping for the best.
The horrible misplays are one thing (baffles me that he very frequently goes full damage when he should block and goes full block when he could kill), but his card picks are contributing massive amounts to his HP loss as well. He doesn't seem to understand that on Act 1 his main goal should be to be taking cards that help him kill the Act 1 elites, such as powerful front-loaded damage cards. He avoids removing cards (for whatever reason I have no idea?) and ends up taking a bunch of synergy cards early (limit break with no strength gain for example) which dilute draws and force him to rest on Act 1 after a single elite fight, which should rarely happen. He also tends to take bad cards very often and a lot of them at that, usually having a 30+ card deck by the start of Act 2. Doesn't really help that he spends all of his gold on buying bad cards that he thinks 'might' work later on if they get enough support.
He plays wayyy too much for a deck archtype early which dilutes his deck, proceeds to mix random other synergistic cards in there and doesn't remove any strikes or defends resulting in a deck that can't help but fall flat when enemies start doing more than 10 damage in a turn. I've only started watching NL's StS again recently but I'm genuinely wondering how he made it to A20 with all three characters when he plays so carelessly. It says a lot about how little thought he puts into his decision-making when a full run would take him 30 mins at the pace he's going in these videos.

Not paying gold to remove a card at that event is not necesarilly bad. If you have a shop coming up, the 75 gold can be spent much better than removing a card. Buying a good card or a relic has a much bigger impact than removing a strike.
@@Cecekcz perhaps, but NL refuses that event every time regardless of circumstances, and seems to have decided card removal is bad in other events or at shops to, so that's the context here.
There's a story I remember from decades ago about a pro gambler who would play a couple games of Ms. Pacman before hitting the poker room. He could tell from those games how well his neurons were firing, and would avoid any gambling on days where those games didn't feel right. On the really bad days, he wouldn't even get in his car.

I remember NL once said the best players can get to the heart on Asc. 20 about 25 or 33 percent of the time and he said in rebuttal that he gets to the final act boss maybe 10 percent of I just wanted to remind you guys lol

Limit break without strength = curse. Maybe best to NOT upgrade a curse in your deck making it a non exhaustable curse lol

Passes up on playing a free strike against the chosen. Then complains how the game hasn't given him any cheaper cards with snake oil. As if to punish him for his ignorance the Chosen clings to life with 1 hp just long enough to smack NL with a 30 damage hit. Even the game is losing patience with his misplays!
That whole chosen sneko fight has to be the worst luck I’ve ever seen. He got 1 cheaper strike but everything else was 2-3
Dude, that has ALWAYS been my luck with snecko anything... I don't even take the oil when I see it.

The only variable that I had to double check was whether or not the discard pile had been reshuffled into the draw pile. Technically that could have been a difference that might have resulted in a different outcome than what you suggest. However, it was the same draw pile from the time he failed to play the 0 cost Strike until he took the 30 damage 3 turns later. You are absolutely correct that he could have avoided the 30 damage if he hadn't rushed to end turn.
2:15 bash+strike was lethal, so he took unnecessary damage
33:45 He just passed turn without playing a 0 cost strike... Then complained about Snecko Oil only giving him more expensive cards..... THEN took 30 damage from an enemy that would have been dead that turn if he'd played that strike, but instead survived at 1 HP.
The Wall it’s frustrating that he survives as long as he does. If he died sooner, he might directly connect the things he did wrong to why he lost. Instead, he just kind of says “oh well, we took damage; life goes on. What can you do?” You can think about your decisions! Great players like jrm1ah and joinrbs usually have runs that take an hour and a half and they win more often than not, whereas this guy just speeds through fights and loses 3 runs in 30 minutes. If he actually took some time to think about his decisions, he might get A win.

So frustrating that he thinks about looking at his draw pile and doesn't. He knew exactly what he was drawing next turn. What if he only had 1 strike and couldn't kill them? It's like he knows what to do but just doesn't do it.

hey egg, ancient potion + speed dex potion thingie = 5 dex for a combat, I know you said that you were keeping the ancient potion for stuff but you should at least consider that combo when fighting against a big boy like that...
NL, the first three combats are selected from a pool that are supposed to be easy. If you're using a swift potion on a single jaw worm your wasting it

The problem with dramatic entrance is that it starts in your opening hand and loses a lot of power after act 1.

That obsessive power play fighting Pointy-Romeo-Bear was near objectively stupid. Whirlwind over vulnerable with five energy is (5+2)*5=35 against ALL enemies. Pointy, the sole enemy with a first turn attack, would be already dead, Romeo&Bear would be effortlessly killable next turn.
So if "perplexing glaze" is the sneko eye ability (I know it he said the word wrong) then does that make sneko oil something like say... maple syrup? It's a bottle of perplexing glaze... *cough*

No, all he needed to do was play Whirlwind in the Red Mask fight instead of tunneling on Juggernaut. He would've had 35 extra health to play with.
In what sense did Second Wind not fit your shell? You had Juggernaut AND Clash. Sure, not a lot of benefits for Exhaust plays, but in many ways Exhaust is a benefit in its own right.

I’m leaving the video early again. NL, why do you think that watching somebody not even pay attention to the game is engaging content? Don’t stop making Slay the Spire, but it’s not fun to watch when you’re playing the game on autopilot , not thinking about what you’re doing, and losing.

NL. Please. Slow down and COUNT. Look at the information you have! You take so much unnecessary damage because you dont even calculate. You could've killed the red slaver in the first battle without taking the 21 hit (which you blocked 16 of instead of instead of going for lethal)
Also PLEASE look at your deck before you add cards. You constantly add mediocre cards without checking your deck based on what I assume is your intuition on the block/attack balance in your deck. This intuition often seems affected by how your most recent fight went. You also seem to ignore that deck balance can be influenced by removing cards. Is your 30 card deck really better at blocking because you have 3 leaps? Consider that a 20 card deck with 2 leaps sees a leap exactly as often while sparing you long waits between your best cards. You had a deck starting with bullet time recently and you ballooned it up to 30+ cards... making it very rare to ever draw bullet time in your first hand. A deck with 7-10 cards, some cheap draw, and 4 energy can play bullet time every turn saving you tons on energy costs.
Or you can keep playing to die later and fear the deck trashing of like 4 enemies so badly you make 40 card decks every run.

Good grief, my dude... SLOW DOWN... The misplays were higher than normal in this one, and I'd say 95% of them were due to rushing. I'm not claiming to be an expert in the game, but it's hard to even tell if your strategies are working or not, because so many runs get derailed by speed-induced mistakes. The one decision that was definitely in the 5% was choosing to upgrade Limit Break when it was a dead card... That was an odd choice.
