At last NL reaches Act 3. I was beginning to forget what it looks like.
And for that I'm happy for him. He broke through his 2nd floor slog.

That's exactly what I came to the comments for. I assumed the run was going to end because he just ended his turn mic drop style and then was bewildered that he lost.

The game is giving him great relics and he misplays himself to death while not even learning from his mistakes, he cant complain about "A20 is hard" because he hasn't hit the last boss in ages.

I wonder if NL knows that he can hover over the legend icons on the map to highlight certain spaces, makes it a lot easier to see optimal paths.

@@jamma246 It's not a joke. Listen to what he's saying. He's not just ending turns with energy and badly played cards, he's actually acknowledging it happened and reminding himself to pay more attention. He's not just rushing, he's actually reminding himself to take a pause from time to time. He even mentioned the whole line about his confirmation bias with waiting the game to give him a win. He's trying new things and generally improving his approach to the game.

Coming back and watching this series after I finally tried the game, nl isn’t actually really bad. I did well because I knew so much already, but playing this while it’s still coming out and changing and developing would have been much harder. I thought I would think about all my relics and stuff all the time but sometimes you just forget. Absolute madlad
Did the era of NL not reaching past the second act start when he stopped removing cards or is that unrelated?
(If it's the second one I'm very surprised, but also intrigued in finding out about the reason - brainfarts aside)

Boot can put in work! Against the birds, intangibility, and hitting for just a little above what enemies are blocking, boot comes in handy! For a common relic it's really not bad..
i had a thought about bandage up. isnt it pretty much always good to have as many as you can get in your deck? i mean, 4-6 healing on a zero cost card that exhausts seems pretty nice to have no matter what, it can basically act as a pseudo burning blood, healing you once per fight then going away forever, leaving your deck none the thicker. i might be incorrect, but it just seems like an always take-able card no matter how many you have.
@@honkmimimi that is a fair point, but most of the time a deflect is pretty good haha. And more often than not in the early game at least you won't have enough energy to play literally every card in your hand, so it's good to have some zero cost stuff mixed in imo. But like I said, I could be wrong. It might slow you down too much to be that great. It just seems nice to have something to keep you afloat longer.

My poor sweet boy still thinks stone calendar procs more than once per fight. 'On turn 7' is distinctly different from 'every 7 turns'.
Honestly NL despite popular opinion I think you should keep these videos to One run so you can break in between or at least pause the video between every run .
I say this because these back to back runs just fry your brain and you need to step away to get to thinking again. Turns like that Bullet time whiff you to take 10 damage just shows your overworking yourself a bit because Spire isnt like isaac where you can do three runs before really feeling it. ( like back in the old days where he struggled to win runs there too )

Yeah, just in case you didn't realize, making your good cards innate gets more important as you add cards to your deck. And upgrading any other card will only make a difference every 4-5 turns, so...

It has come down to me checking if he win everyday before I watch the entire video of classic NL fuck ups.
Better than average play. You really needed more attacks or poison. To be fair a lot of the card choices didn't benefit much in the damage department with this deck. Good job realizing how good dodge and roll is with dex and recognizing the mistakes in passing turns early.

Juzu bracelet only prevents normal enemy encounters on question marks, that event could not come from a normal enemy encounter.

Hey NL, as many other folks have pointed out: you need to slow down. I've got an idea. Why not do a mini series called StS Bootcamp. The special rules are that you have to read out loud every card text on the card rewards screen, every relic description you encounter and you have to do the maths for the fight before you play your first card.
