3:22 NL misses 3 damage by playing Bash and Thunderclap in the wrong order
3:35 NL takes 24 damage because he barely misses out on a kill
and the worst part is he didnt even notice
Almost as infuriating; He chooses not to play the defends when they actually do save him like 2 damage apiece.
HitchensImmortal the enemy gained three strength per skill played and NL was vulnerable

I was thinking if he isnt going to take the barricade at least he will take juggernaut, but Egg Lord in all of his galaxy brain wisdom said Demon form
Feel no pain -> Juggenaut is excellent. Upgraded, that combo deals 7 damage per card exhausted so it would almost double fiend fire, and isn't affected by debuffs. Not even considering the free block.

@@DoctorShroom been this way since the start. He also plays incessantly off camera. It makes no sense. He has no idea what his viewers base wants, but that's why he's been languishing at 700k subs for almost three years.
@@iami3rian394 I really dont think you can bash him for a big backlog since he likes the game and records a lot of it. You can't also complain about him playing off-camera AND about the big backlog because it would be even bigger if he didnt play off-camera. He enjoys the game, how is he supposed to do it to make the viewers happy?
the corruption pass hit me where it hurts
Digging up Blue Candle and then passing on warped tongs in the very next room... I'm so confused. I get it if you just forget that you have the candle, it happens, but that was like 20 seconds later.
Feel no Pain Whenever you EXHAUST a card, gain block, Fiend Fire EXHAUST all cards doing x dmg per card...Juggernaut whenever you gain block, do 5 dmg to enemy...how did you not see this synergy?
its not that great considering he had a relatively thick deck and if he drew fiend fire before either of those powers it would have been really poor. demon form is almost always good as long as you can afford to play it, which he could.
@@thecreaterXY he had 3 energy. Jugg was absolutely, objectively the right call.
He was halfway to throwing anyway.

Hey NL, some observations from a long-time viewer, who - granted - has not played Slay the Spire personally:
Havoc seems particularly tailored for use with a Warcry or Headbutt: allows you to take expensive powers like (Barricade, Demon Form, etc.) or already exhaustive cards (Impervious, Fiend Fire, etc.) at an energy discount or even for free. This obviously requires a particular draw order, though, that's hard to setup and work with short of having the Frozen Eye relic.
In addition, it helps with exhausting garbage from the deck, similarly to True Grit, Purity, and Recycle. Alternatively, you could exhaust for the sake of milling basic strikes and defends for a given combat or even to fuel your exhaust synergies. I think this is a much more significant function of the card, especially once it's upgraded and becomes 0-cost.
TL;DR Havoc is definitely a weird card, but I think you should experiment with it, especially considering how frequently you lean towards Corruption-Dead Branch decks.
Anyway, love the videos, keep it up! Looking forward to the glorious Ascension 20 wins!

You’ll probably never see this but taking juggernaut was probably a better take than you gave it credit for because you were building towards that exhaust synergy. Getting an exhume would’ve helped a lot.
Update: he went for the exhaust synergy and demon forms lifetime wasn’t hefty. If you choose a synergy stick to it.

As you like 'Offering' so much you will love the Necromancer mod. There are so many blood related cards you'll feel like a vampire on crack! (seriously, try it, even off-cam - you won't be disappointed)

You egg! DECK SYNERGIES, if you draw juggernaut before fiend fire you get an extra 20 DMG, or I don't know Barricade to stack all the armor you get from Feel no pain?

I would bet that he doesnt even know the steroid pot + ancient synergy and doesnt use it as he should.

Maybe I'm a moron but I don't get why, in his second run, he basically was relying on Sacrifice / Carnage to win all the major fights but still kept building a fat deck, and then was always hoping RNG would bring Carnage around? Like, maybe try making a thinner deck when you're relying on such a specific card combo?
He cannot resist picking up every card. It's much better, in his eyes, to stuff his deck full of trash, then whine about never drawing his win condition.
Rupture is unplayable in high ascension levels, unless you have incredible healing. I personally wouldnt take it unless i had healing flower, reaper and combust.

A little bit of a galaxy brain move but I think with dream catcher NL should have rested rather than digging to hopefully pull a corruption from his dream

Rushing and making bad play which make some of die a little on the inside all end up into a failed run which means he has to do another run, which keeps the series going just a little longer that we will watch.
He won't have to switch games and learn something.

It wasn't free. The clash was unplayable because he had a curse(and defends). You can play clash when there are only attacks in your hand. He even said that part out lout, so as bad as he was today, this wasn't a missplay :)
