I suggest that you get a new steel wheel... that driver side front one is badly bent.
Nice video, short and to the point yet covers important details.
After stripping the top guide pin (damn wrench!), I was panicking... Until I realized I only needed to take off the bottom guide-pin and pivot the caliper. It was actually a bit easier that way.
Thanks for keeping it on point and only the details needed.
If I were you I would put grease into the pin guide instead of wrapping it onto the pin and then insert. Some of the grease will very likely be left in the thread and might cause the bolt to loose after time.
For safety you check that the bolts are tight with a wrench if you use air tools!
Great short video. Thanks
Thanks for video. Gracias por el video.
Thank you sir!
Thanks!
How long does it take replace rear locks on mitsubishi mirage 2017 hatchback?
Nice video. That caliper boot is broken and needs replaced. You can get a caliper rebuild kit for 10 bucks, instead of replacing the whole caliper. Just use an air compressor and blow air through the back of the caliper (there's a little hole usually), the piston will pop out. Replace the little boot on the piston and put it back in. I recently found that out. $70 caliper, or $10 rebuild kit.
Helps if you put grease on the brake pads so they don't squeal.
Nice rim
I haven't taken the wheel off mine to check is there not a bolt that fastens the rotor on these? Just the caliper holding it? I see there's a hole near the posts in the video
The damaged caliper seal and the totally messed up rim ruined what should have been a good brake job. It's no surprise that you let this get to metal on metal where you had to replace the rotor. I wouldn't feel safe riding in your car. Good rims can be found at a junk yard or pick-a-part.
whats the green jam he used?
Where did you get the piston moving tool
What size are the brake pads or what type are they
What is the stuff you spray on the rotors, and also the gel you put on those screws?
Asheline9 he was spraying brake clean. And the stuff he put on the pins is grease that allows them to move with no friction
Next do master brake cylinder replacement
Hello! Can anyone to tell me the codes for brake pads and rotos? For mitsubishi mirage 2013. Thnks
What did you spray on the disc and what did you use to lube up the guide bolts?
Rotors come covered in oil from the factory, and brake cleaner is used to remove it. The grease would be a special high temp grease from the auto parts store.
Do I have to Unscrew the big bolt that's in the center of the rotor
Nope.
Good vid. But what did you do to the wheel? It is not round anymore by any stretch of the imagination.... Furthermore, a new disc after 2 years? That's not good.... I only had to change my brake pads after 2 years on my 2015 Mirage.
Ronald de Rooij my 2015 mirage needed rotors too I got it used and have 60k miles on the oe parts so it just depends on how many miles you have on the oe parts
I can comment on the whole wheel factor.
I got a 2014 Mirage and my original steel rims didn't look much better.
I pounded mine straight with a hammer many times and soon gave up on them.
Idk if Mitsubishi just made these rims out of cheap or thin metal, or both....
But these rims bend very easily.
I replaced the original steel rims with some old aluminium rims off a Hyundai I think, these rims were old but in perfect shape, and still are in perfect shape 2 years later!
Aluminium is supposed to be far weaker then steel.... not in the case of the Mirage rims.
Sometimes I'll notice another Mirage in a parking lot, and I'll see it missing its hubcap and rim bent the same way!
New disc is because they ran the pads all the way down ron, need to change the rotor cause its fuuuucked
Do the discs have to be replaced or could I just replace the pads?
You can just replace the pads if discs are ok
The rotors can be machined or replaced... I like to let my new brake pads machine down my old rotor... LOL
Anyone from Doug’s video
I don’t think so lol 😂😥
You had a broken seal dude you should have replace that also
Thank you for pointing that if I didn’t mention it then I must have missed it unfortunately
Caliper seal knackered. Should never have completed that job without replacing that seal. Back street garages!!!
Damaged piston dust cover
The bent up rim is not a good thing.
Noob question, but what kind of spray is that?
Brake cleaner
@@MajorBologna1 Thanks!
Why he is using brake cleaner in a new set that is already clean?
@@luizedu98 because they have anti rust grease on them
@@luizedu98 For new people who have the same question the answer is No. New rotors are not clean. They have anti-corrosion oil on them to maintain freshness during time period prior to sale and installation. You must clean them on BOTH sides with either brake cleaner or alcohol. Wipe them off well with a clean paper towel on the inside and outside where the brake pads come into contact with the rotor. Failure to do this will lead to negative consequences.
porque solo muestras como poner una pastilla , y la otra no ?
