That's a very narrow minded view of how things actually work. Rich or poor is relative. As there are rich people who have worked as a mechanic building great respect and wealth. And yet their are people who have a lot of money who invest poorly. There are even poor Mechanics who chose to invest poorly However any honest Mechanic or Tradesman is always perfecting his or her skill to serve the people God has placed in their life. a poor Mechanic thinks he knows everything and never has an open mind to learn something new. Therefore what makes a Mechanic or a Rich person really wealthy isn't a matter of Money. But the wisdom or application of his or her skill. and the knowledge and understanding of the equipment or materials they are building with. Even a cave man without modern technology has a very basic understanding of how to live and co exist with nature.
I know absolutely nothing about vehicles but my brakes went out and I do not have $800+ to spend on a mechanic so this was very informative and I think I can definitely do it!! Thanks so much!!
I'm a city boy, who's main mode of transportation is the subway. Every time I have vehicle issues other than a flat I would run to a mechanic. I've decided it's 2022, I should be able to do what others can do. I watched this vid 3x. Went and purchased brakes, spacer and ratchet. Your video played through the whole process on repeat. Only thing that wasn't covered which scared me for a moment was replacing the caliber. I had to push the piece that receives the screw back in. But thank you.
Lol I love how I feel exactly like you.. City boy myself and started really driving with my own car 2020.. I've learned a lot and only now finally I'm like fuck I think it's time to learn more.. cause brake pads are $50-$100 bucks .. and going to the mechanic means an additional 200-300 bucks 🤦🏾♂️ plus any taxes
I always assumed changing brake pads required draining the brake fluid and avoiding getting air in the lines so I was always worried. Today I needed to change my brakes and decided to look up how it's done. Wow, this is a way simpler task than I imagined. Changed all 4 brake pads and saved myself $200+ taking it to a mechanic. Thanks man, great video. Lucky for me my father-in-law had that tool to decompress the caliber!
Appreciate simple, easy to follow instructions. Thank you! I used to run to mechanics for rverything. No more. Working on my car has become something I enjoy. And guys like you, sir, make it possible. 2 years ago I'd never changed my own oil. This summer I did an engine swap on an 87 Samurai. Still can't belueve it. And it runs great. Today is brake pad changing day. This morning I had no idea how to do it. I searched TH-cam, found your channel, saw how easy it is and had them changed before lunch. Thanks again, man.
This video is 5 years in now... but I just found it and just had to post a Thank you! Saved me some money, was easy - I will never pay to have my brakes done again.
Thank you for a useful -easy to follow video that was straight forward. This was perfect !! I can’t thank you enough. I’m a girl who never knew anything about cars and would get ripped off by car dealerships for stuff like this. They would charge 500 for brakes when in reality I can spend 90$ and change front and back brakes myself for free in literally an hour. That is very empowering!!!
I gotta say. Paying a lucrative amount of money for such a aimple job. Im half tempted to do this myself. And i never have before. Thanks for being so informative. I think i might never go back to get them done by a mechanic again.
