Started Veganism when I was 60...Vegan for 10 years...Got sick; Gall bladder removed; pancreatitis that almost killed me; had a stroke & was diabetic & had high blood pressure...March of this year was my 1 yr carnivore anniversary...A wound that never healed more than 8 yrs ago, healed; the Dr took me off all diabetic meds; in fact, she took the label of diabetic off my charts...I feel so much better at 70 than I ever did before...Thank God...
Hey peace. If i am not confused your diabetes is almost completely cured . Am i right?
By the time I came of age in the world, health was synonymous with fruits, vegetables and grains - it was the dominant narrative to the point no one I knew even had to think about it. I got drawn into it further with Michael Pollen's small food rules book. At 50, I discovered your channel last summer while being on a low fat, high protein, veg and grain diet. I was sick, constantly hungry, exhausted and had a small developing left hand tremor. At first, I thought you were nuts(!) for thinking vegetables/plants were anything but good. But the more I listened and reflected on my experience, I began to doubt. Since going carnivore in September 22' (for me, all kinds of meat and seafoof but especially ground beef, eggs, dairy, some spices and hot sauce) I've never been sick, the tremor is long gone and I feel as good as I ever remember. Thank you Dr. Baker and all the other carnivores who had the courage to think and act for themselves.
I went vegan for 18 months. Everyone said I’d lose weight, I’d feel so much better, it would cure my severe anxiety and severe depression, and I got roped into the “how not to die” videos and books by Dr. Greger. I kept cutting out more and more and more because I wasn’t seeing results, to the point I was eating potatoes and avacados. I was miserable. All I wanted to do was eat a big, juicy, rare steak- I DREAMED of it. When I finally had enough and finally had meat again I felt better! And slowly I started cutting out carbs and well, here I am! 7 weeks carnivore and lost 25 pounds, anxiety is almost gone, depression is almost gone, skin is clearing up and I have energy for the first time in years!
Two of my favorites avocados and baked potatoes with butter and salt, not anymore.
Never a vegan or vegetarian, but when I was keto a favorite snack was an avocado with feta cheese, olive oil and garlic salt. It hit the spot.
Greger is a nut job!
Well I cured skin issues by going plant-based, so there's that... "I DREAMED of it"... that's a little dramatic. lol
same story here but worst cuz I was indoctrinated by gf and lasted 4 years till I've got rid of the veganism and from her - now I feel normal again and lost some weight on meat-heavy diet!
Crazy! I went through similar parallels to him when I was 50. I just completed solo riding the entire Pacific coast of the USA in 2.5 months. I was in the peak of my health, better than when I was a teen. I got convinced to become vegan to preserve my fitness and youthful vigor and health. 2 years in arthritis first struck, then Lupus, which developed into Hashimoto's Disease. I never what the cause of my cascade of symptoms and ailments. Skin disorders, hair loss, muscle mass loss, vision impairment and night blindness. chronic tinnitus, then cramps and nerve twitches. I had trouble controlling a car down the road! And I had to give up cycling!! My joints felt brittle and my heals were so dry and hard. I developed jaundice, prostate issues, dental problems, I doubled down on my veganism! Believing I was doing the healthiest diet! I began having night sweats, possibly from pre-diabetes. My muscles would not support me, I had Cushings Syndrome and my once 28.5" waist ballooned to 37+" from visceral fat deposits. Although I wasn't eating excessively. I also had short term memory loss, fainting after a meal. Terrible constipation. Double vision developed and worsened to the point I couldn't see correctly. No matter what I tried, I wasn't getting better and felt suicidal from depression, chronic illness, and isolation and stress from the Pandemic. I forego the jabs due to my compromised immune system. Contracting Omicron was insult to injury. I was ready to roll over and die. But a quick recovery changed my mental outlook. I found a TedX video about the Lion Diet and it essentially saved my life. The autoimmune disorder similarities were uncanny. I adopted a carnivore diet, returned to eating beef after over a decade of abstaining. The transformation was remarkable. In 3 months I lost all my visceral fat and dropped to 32" waistline. My hair grew back, my vision improved, my arthritis disappeared. My brain fog and memory improved, and my attitude completely did a 180. I'm far from a full recovery. A lot of damage was done to my health in the 7 years on vegan diet. But I've learned a valuable lesson! Veganism is a cult. Don't fall for it.
LIAR !!!!!!
The one shouting liar sounds just like how a cult member would when having his cult challenged.

Thank you for sharing this, reminds me of Jordan Peterson and his daughter’s experience.
I did raw vegan for 2 years. Felt great after a SAD. But ended up with systemic mold. And couldn’t lose weight. Adrenal and thyroid issues. A mess. Found carnivore in June is 2019. Finally lost weight! So much healed. Blood pressure went normal. No longer had allergic reactions to food. Any time I eat anything processed I feel it and regret it. Vegetables and grains are starvation foods not for everyday living.
Raw vegan for 2 years. Jesus, Id give you a hug. Thats brutal.
I was a committed vegan for over 45 years, and although I loved eating sugar and feeling righteous, it gave me kidney stones, bad teeth, anxiety, depression, and osteoporosis. The positive side of my diet was that I ate only whole foods and no junk food, but for the seed oils of which I wasn't aware of the danger. Healing now with meat, eggs, and butter.
45 years holy shiet. Im glad you survived that
How is that even possible? Were you obese when you started the diet? Humans are obligate carnivores how did you even manage to survive on pure sugar and fiber...?
Was plant based too. Now whole family carnivore. Feeling best in our lifes, blood results fantastic, we will never go back.
Best of luck!
May I ask you a question. If we are just animals and should live like other animals in nature then it should be okey to eat any of your family members? I know you haven't done any introspection or meditation. You are so attached to this mortal flesh that you have no idea of the oneness of everything and your true nature. @@quake3quake3 After the flood, God gave permission to humans to eat meat. After his resurrection Jesus told Peter that it was okay to eat any animal - nothing God made was unclean. I understand your compassion for our animal friends, and I think most of us wish they were raised and slaughtered painlessly. Bottomline the creator of the universe put human beings at the top of the food chain for a reason, we should respect his decision.
Was vegan for 9 years, I was suffering with arthritis , especially on my hands and hips, also loosing hair so much that got scared of becoming bale. My good friend told me into going carnivore, 7 months after doing great, the arthritis almost gone, my hair is back, can’t have enough of Dr Baker TH-cam video😊
Liar!
I've been vegan for 8 years and have felt the healthiest I've ever been. In July I had a small heart attack and it was found that I am very low in iron and have flat red blood cells so I'm back onto meat and eggs. I'm not going back onto cow's milk though just sticking to my oatmilk. I may try cheese and cow-butter soon but unsure. I have extremely low energy now but feel a bit better after beef and slightly better after eggs.
I was vegetarian for 20 years. I was at my fattest. 250lbs and broke my wrist and progressed to osteoporosis. Whew! Carnavore lifestyle has made me healthy, normalized my weight and eliminated sugar/carb cravings.
Ex vegan here. Felt really tired all the time, and exercise tolerance was terrible; struggled with gaining muscle. I am now heavily meat based and eating at least per pound of body weight in protein. I'm 65 and gaining muscle and endurance through lifting weights. I can't believe the difference in my body composition. Also I got kidney stones from eating vegan diet.

I know of 3 meat eaters who got kidney stones. so the f what?
@@__ZANE__ I believe it was Dr Berry who did a video on what causes that. It can be traced back to vegetable consumption. There are a lot of vegetables that are high in oxalates, spinach being the worst offender. Oxalates is what causes kidney stones.
I went raw vegan for a year. I lost weight but also lost my period, got very depressed and anxious, developed gum disease, and was getting countless episodes of hypoglycaemia which I was almost passing out at work. Lost strength in the gym, and was hungry all the time. Wasn’t sustainable. After that did SAD. Gained 40 kg. In August 2022 went meat heavy Keto, then slowly developed into carnivore and have been so since 14th March 2023. I’ve lost 27kg, hormones optimal, peri menopausal symptoms gone, sleep like a baby, and have a huge amount of energy, even when fasted for a gym workout. I’m never hungry, and anxiety and depression are completely gone. Carnivore is not hard. It is very sustainable, and I’m never looking back!
Way 2 go👏🏼
I went vegan for four month but I have Hashimoto and my numbers worsened I gained weight and developed severe anemia. Been keto/carnivore for a year now and my anemia is gone, thyroids are normal and loss 55 lbs. I feel great!
Been vegan/vegetarian for most of my life. I’m now 60 and carnivore, never felt better. For years I kept cutting out different vegetables that was causing inflammation. Over the past 8 years, I began running out of veg to eat! It was a natural progression from there to meat.

@@quake3quake3 Oh shut up!
I used to be vegetarian. Was raised in a yoga ashram with so much dogma around diet and not harming animals. I was taught to say "I don't eat anything that runs away, swims away or flies away". I did start eating eggs in college. After having two kids as a vegetarian I was diagnosed with celiac disease. I tried to raise my kids vegetarian and they were sick all the time as was I. A nutritionist asked me "Why are you a vegetarian"? Up until that point I thought being vegetarian was the healthier choice. After talking to the nutritionist I started incorporating meat into our diet. We started with fish and chicken. I bumped into someone at the play ground and he recommended Rob Wolf's "The Paleo Solution the original human diet". After reading the Paleo Solution we started eating red meat. My kids became some of the healthiest kids we know and often won perfect attendance awards after we started eating more paleo. Over the past several months I am now considering going more carnivore. The concept that plants are trying to kill me is new to me and it does make sense. I certainly have experienced how harmful plants can be and I do feel so much better with fewer plants. Thanks for the great content!
In Italy, it's illegal to put young children in a vegan diet. About time the rest of the world caught up.

Terrific, I am so pleased you and the kids are now fit and well.
@@quake3quake3 I was born in a yoga ashram and I regularly practice yoga and meditation. The most painful time in my life was being a vegetarian and trying to raise my kids as a vegetarian. We were all sick all the time. I kept asking myself what have I ever done to deserve such bad Karma? Unfortunately blindly believing in vegetarianism was my problem. I do appreciate the animals we eat daily. I do believe humans were meant to eat a meat based diet and while some people may do OK on a vegetarian diet it causes amazing problems for most of us. I am not out to convert the world to an animal based way of eating. I am so grateful I listened to the nutritionist who told me I needed meat when my health was failing with two little children to care for. My family and I are now healthy and thriving on a meat based diet. I wish you all the best and hope your meat free diet continues to support my wellness.

When I first saw the news that he said meat had changed his life, I had to read it, and was surprised that he had not only ADDED meat to his previously vegan diet, but he went CARNIVORE!! Made me so happy, and my first thought was that I couldn't wait for you to share this news!! Thank you, Dr. Baker, and God bless you!! This good news is really starting to catch on, in my opinion!! So many people won't even listen and learn about the many health benefits of this way of eating!! Thanks!!
If anyone has not seen my story, I went carnivore as a joke in 1983, vegetarian from January 1993-July 1993 got so sick I went back to carnivore and have been ever since. I never understood how my vegan friends can continue to eat mulch instead of real food.
By carefully selecting what they eat from a variety of plants around the world, careful supplementation, and occasional cheating
@@defeqel6537 yeah but at the end of the day the human body is a machine and plants are the incorrect fuel for this machine. You can run some fuels in machines not designed for them but they will always breakdown and wear out. We just call this slow long term poisoning, aging.

The coping mechanism must be the cheating 👍

“Mulch” 😂
I was mostly vegan for close to a year. I ended up w/ major tooth issues and two teeth literally crumbled, according to my Dentist. I wasn't eating high fruit diet either! Hair was falling out, skin wasn't great, and I really did try to do it all correctly, including supplements. Meat/Fish/Eggs is really what's helping me to recover from illness including Asthma. I barely use my inhaler and I'm off daily bronchial meds too. I see people thriving on vegan (or seem to) but I'm not one of them. My energy and strength is improving daily on Carnivore & I'm over 50.
It's so good that Bear Grylls talks about his experience openly
Hey, here my story.
2013: I did the grape diet, 21 days only grapes. I felt amazing and healed all my issues allegies etc. except one. Went then eating only fruits for months. Next few years, all rawfood and vegan, but usually fresh organic fruits and salads. No animal products.
2018: I started to experience heavy depression crisis where I just wanted to die. This was odd because I was ok, happy, everything ok and "suddently" something caught me in my brain. Was really hard.
2020: Covid crap. With the stress, I started to eat chicken and ordered junk food home. Lost my routine. Was still fresh "vegan" kind of but ate more fishes and eggs. Maybe 3 chicken per year. But was because of the stress. Strangely, no more depression ! Also I cut all carbs in general just by intuition.
October 2022: I started to catch up with my 100% fruit diet....heavy depression came back !!!
January 2023: I discover the "carnivore diet" which I ve heard of. 15 minutes after eating my 1st steak since more than 10 years, I felt a deep change ! Since march I went heavier on ceto/carnivore. Never felt so great in my entire life.
Overall during 10 year i had NO energy to work, just to be a zombie and give few yoga classes. My brain was so low and old ! And I was ALWAYS hungry since 10 years !!! Now I am not !
I am convince now humans have to eat meat, maybe not 100% carnivore but like chimps or more, from 5% to 50% and maybe some persons can go on 100%. For meat 100% doesn t work. Make sure not to be in religion, neither with veganism or carnivorism. Just open yourself and eat what you feel (to eat naturally, not junk !)
This is pretty typical.
The faddish eating plans are prone to failure.
100% fruit is not sustainable imo
It sounds like you detoxed, but weren't eating a sensible diet afterwards.
Eating complex carbs and legumes - nuts / seeds etc. - these would bulk out the meal and up calorific intake.
Those who prosper as vegans don't have restrictive raw meal plans.
I've always liked meat, fish, eggs, butter but around 6 years ago I went vegan for a month just to see what it feels like. Didn't work for me at all (unsurprisingly), I had less energy, always felt hungry and had constipation. I'm not fully carnivore but try to eat as much meat, fish and eggs as possible.
A month is nothing, and most people who switch, rapidly increase their fibre load, which is a huge mistake.
I did the same years ago and felt like shit. The worst I ever felt after following a diet plan, was eating piles of leafy greens.
These things have to be used sparingly or introduced slowly.
My husband and I were plant based for 6 years. We did it for health. Wanted to get away from processed junk etc.. Our labs were fine... but he started feeling strange, foggy, and a "burning" sensation in his spine. I switched us to a meat keto diet and feels much better. We live and learn... keep searching for truth!
ok lol
Yeah, sadly (for me) I was vegan for 23 years. Starting at 17 when I was easily fooled by the "science" being promoted at the time. My health was in a downward spiral the whole time, and of course the advice for unhealthy vegans is "you're doing it wrong." I did every type of vegan diet, took every supplement, and always my bloodwork was way off, multiple vitamin and mineral deficiencies, leaky guy, fibromyalgia, tendonitis--a really long list of never-ending health issues. I realized that in nature, you literally cannot live on a vegan diet anywhere in the world, not even in the banana belt. As humans, we ate meat to get here, so it only makes sense that we eat meat to keep going forward. I suggest people who know vegans to get them to watch survival shows like Alone. There's no such thing as veganism in the real world, just in cities where we can be completely against nature with enough money and effort.
May I ask you a question. If we are just animals and should live like other animals in nature then it should be okey to eat any of your family members? No such thing as a vegan diet.
Love for him to come on your show! That would be a great interview.
I went vegetarian because I thought it would make me fit. I lost weight for a while also lost body strength and felt terrible. The smell of meat cooking got to me and I started eating meat again. I improved heaps. Now I'm carnivore and improving more every day.
My 84-year-old mother has been a vegetarian for over 30 years. Thank goodness she does eat eggs and dairy, or who knows if she'd even still be here. As it is, she has horrible intestinal troubles, general weakness, and anxiety. I'm glad she's not vegan, but gosh I wish she'd eat a steak!
I get it, though. I was vegetarian myself for years for the same reason - so animals wouldn't have to die so I could eat. So, I ate grains, fruits, and vegetables, and was 100 pounds overweight. 😢
I finally re-entered the food chain and began cutting back on carbs. My journey progressed through paleo, then low carb, then keto, and now mostly carnivore. The more meat-based my diet is, the better I feel.
The excess weight is gone. I CrossFit every day, and at 60 years old I feel better than i have in decades. I understand the vegan motivation on a moral level, but I can't argue with reality. I am healthier and stronger as a carnivore.
But either vegans don't know or ignore that large numbers of animals die in the production of plants for them to eat.
@wjb722 Yes, exactly, but that's a difficult truth for them to accept. Unlike buying and cooking a package of meat - obvious muscle tissue of a once-living animal - eating fruits and vegetables is a step removed from the animals who died in their production. Processed grain "foods" are even further removed. I doubt many people think about the many animals killed in the wheat fields for the muffins or crackers they're eating.
Now that you've got me pondering this, I still wish animals didn't need to die for me to live, but I believe I'm more honest about it now as a carnivore than I used to be as a vegetarian. 🤔
Was a vegan for 2 years. I developed
- Mood swings
- Bad dull skin
- Eye bags
- Depression
- Bleeding gums
- IBS (Avocado gave me a bad reaction)
- Severe stomach cramp
- The worse symptom was getting severe and I mean severe hunger pangs in the middle of the night (which I would drink orange juice to relieve).
I'll never forget the day I decided to ditch veganism and eat a bunch of lamb chops on a Friday. The peace and Serenity I felt was unreal and my body felt so good I could feel it say finally thank you for giving me some real food!
Since then, I've never looked back as I turned to Keto/carnivore, I'm in the best shape of my life, all the symptoms I developed as a vegan disappeared.
Never. Had a few girlfriends that would try to be vegan or vegetarian (and were always failing to do so), but I never felt any meal was ever satisfying without meat, so I was always stubborn about having it central to any meal. The body know what it wants.
" The body know what it wants "
That doesn't ring true.
I know people who eat piles of biscuits and crisps.
Hello Dr Baker! New sub here. My husband and I started Carnivore about six weeks ago. Enjoy your content and learning a ton!
I was vegan for 8 long years. It was the worst decision I ever made for myself! My health absolutely went down the shitter and my anxiety and depression skyrocketed! I suffered from numerous health issues and food sensitivities. I literally thought I was going to die. Absolutely never again! So ashamed I fell for the promise of saving my health and the animals!
Vegetarianism & veganism wrecked my health. I have MS and thought I was helping myself eating a plant based diet. Now healing on a Carnivore diet. ❤
Leaving any cult isn't easy.
Vegans: I'm in this to validate my confirmation bias and make everyone do what I do to convince myself that I'm right.
Carnivores: Hey, guys. This works for me. You might want to try it and see if it helps. If not, no big deal.
Vegans: YOU'RE LITERAL NATZZEES!
All of the modern fad diets are basically cults. KETO and Carnivore are no different from Veganism.
If you tell people in those groups you enjoy sugar or fruits, you're looked at sideways.
Don't confuse "veganism" with "plant-based". Those that do it for ethical reasons are the ones that get a little crazy. Those that do it for health reasons are no different than what you define the "carnivores" as... But, don't act there aren't extremists on the Carnivore side either *cough Paul Saladino cough*...
@JoeyD913 Vegans also seem to have a hard time with hyperbolic satire.
@@JoeyD913 @JoeyD913 I agree that the carnivore community has its share of extremists, but I don't think Saladino is a carnivore anymore. He certainly 'was' a carnivore that went way out there though. He is animal based now as far as I am concerned. Carnivore was previously known as the zero carb diet, and zero carbs were achieved by pretty much eating only meat which inspired the name. Since Paul includes large and regular amounts of carbs in his diet I think it is misleading how he still calls himself carnivore MD, because he just gets used by opponents of the carnivore diet as an example of why carnivore is bad. But his diet and carnivore diet do not fulfill the same goals. Just feel it's important that others look at that difference regarding Paul when considering what their goal is.
@@BaddestCat Yea I know he's not technically a strict carnivore now, but he still says some wild shit like kale and oatmeal being bad for you. Lol. What a clown that guy is.
Yep. Vegan for 13 years. Then went Weston Price approach. Adding in raw milk and grass fed meat was amazing; and I did notice benefits; but did not have eureka healing. Did that for 15 years; but ate way too many oxalate foods. Finally gave up grains which was good; but it was only went I went full carnivore did I realize how well my body did on just meat and raw milk. I did it out of instinct when I had Lyme. I was super frustrated and just woke up one day and followed my instincts to eat just meat and drink raw milk. I did nothing else and I had amazing healing. (Never took AB so it was definitely the meat and milk since nothing else I did helped at all). I then went back to vegetables; and slowly my symptoms came back. Discovered carnivore several years later and it has changed my life. Discovered I had severe oxalate damage (among other things). Every time I dabble in fruit or vegetables, my body doesn't like it. I try to not bee too rigid (I do have a cup of tea in the morning with heavy cream, so I don't dump oxalates) but overall I just do better without plant foods.
I'm a 61 year old carnivore. I get guys coming up to me at the gym on a regular basis to ask me how the Hell a guy my age can be so ripped and muscular. Steak and eggs, baby!
Did veganism at 28 while I was a kick boxer, working out 4 hours a day. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Less than a year later my knees were toast. Its 30 years later. I abandoned veganism when my knees went south, but they were never the same.
Few months of vegetarianism followed by 9 months of a full-on vegan diet. I Fell for all the documentaries everywhere that get recommended by social media. Followed all the vegan doctors and their recommendations especially over time as health started to deteriorate. I never had health issues and didn't go vegan for health reasons. I started to have issues I never knew was possible. I would get super tired by 7 pm every day, I was constantly hungry, I had really hard time to wake up in the morning, and I started to hate working out (I have been working out with a few gaps here and there since I was in 8th grade ...tried veganism when I was 32), after about 2 months I started to get common colds that would last for weeks (this is very unusual for me), after about 5 months I started to get back pain from workouts that just won't go away (I have never had back pain in my life up till this point), I was constantly getting chipped tooth and my teeth in general became very sensitive. When I started veganism I was on a moderately high protein diet getting about 120 to 130 grams per day and weighing 195 lbs. I fell for Dr. Macdougall's dumb ass idea that "protein amount isn't important if you are getting enough calories". in the later stage, I stared to take pea protein supplement to get at least around 130 grams of protein. That didn't work either. My body fat was at 14% when I started the vegan diet. After about 7 months of vegan diet I lost over 20 lbs of weight but my body fat jumped to over 16.5% After about 9 months of all of these the thing that finally forced me to quit was getting high fevers at night with shivers and waking up in the morning absolutely drained.
I went vegan in my teens after a couple of reasonably healthy years as a vegetarian. Within 6 months of purely plant-based eating the wheels fell off though and I began to dream of chicken legs and bacon sandwiches. I started to believe all those people who told me that not eating meat was a bad idea health-wise, and just went back to omnivory. I felt a lot better. Around ten years later I got back into the whole vegan thing again, thinking as so many vegans do about ex-vegans "Oh I must have just done it wrong!" It was pretty much exactly 6 months later yet again before the wheels fell off, but this time it was worse (probably because I was older) - my periods stopped and my nails went all thick and then started peeling. I was constantly bloated, sometimes to the point of actually vomitting. I also got terrible cravings for animal products again, and it all just went down the pipe again. And that all happened with me being really careful about nutrition, scratch cooking, ensuring I ate the fortified foods with B12, vitamin D etc. I think some people are maybe just better at using nutrients from plants than others, but I'm clearly not one of them. I've tried experiments where I eat mostly plant-based for a few days just to see how it feels again (I did actually quite like some of the vegan dishes I used to make tbh), and I just feel ravenous even after just that short time and need to mainline a steak fried in dripping and butter with blue cheese topper!😀 I think as humans we've adapted to be able to survive on just plant foods for a while maybe but it's not our proper diet.
I was vegan for 13 years, and to be transparent, I also have Chronic Lyme and CIRS, so I can't say everything is due to being vegan, but I can definitely say it didn't help me at all and in fact made things worse. My hair thinned, hormones suffered, I was anemic, was deficient in B12 and D3, I've had so much dental work, and I was super malnourished. I had terrible gut issues and kept having to limit more and more plant food. I was always bloated and always hungry. Things are not perfect still, but again, there are other things at play for me, so it's a process. I've been carnivore for over a year now. I finally feel satiated and only need 2 meals a day versus eating every 2 hours and barely being able to wait the full 2 hours. I used to get hangry and jittery if I would wait too long to eat, and I don't experience that anymore. I know I am finally on the right path in regards to diet. Thank you to all who are sharing the message so others don't have to suffer needlessly. ❤
Once, Bear Vegan-ed.
Now, Bear Grylls.
Well played! 😂
I have not looked back since going carnivore in the last 12 months , I work out and I'm stronger than I've ever been and I don't get sore. Also my meals are so simple to make and not as expensive as people think.
Nearly 30 Years of vegetarianism: gained 50 pounds, gained blood-cloth, gained bad teeth, gained depression, gained gout, gained two pulmonary embolisms......did i missed something?
Now nearly carnivore and healthy, slim and fit again!

May I ask you a question. If we are just animals and should live like other animals in nature then it should be okey to eat any of your family members? I know you haven't done any introspection or meditation. You are so attached to this mortal flesh that you have no idea of the oneness of everything and your true nature. You have no idea of the karmic laws of the universe, but one thing is certain, suffering will become your greatest teacher, mark my words because nobody can escape the laws of karma. Whatever suffering you cause to others in order to satisfy your ego, will hit you back with a vengeance. Remember this comment and may God awaken you from ignorance.

Best book: "The Vegetarian Myth-Food, Justice and Sustainability" 2009 rescue manual for family members by 20 year vegan who wrecked her health that way. Lierre Keith. Essential reading you won't find anywhere else.
Veg to vegan. 10 years. Could never feel full . Oatmeal with margarine and sugar, all vegan. Salads, veggies. Lots of soy burgers(gave me fibroids the size of 4 month pregnancy. Headaches always. Ended up going from 115lbs to 186 while walking every day and grooming dogs for 8 hours. Couldn't lose an ounce of weight. Then I went straight on the Atkins diet. 2 weeks on straight carnivore, 4 eggs fried in butter,1/2 lb bacon every morning, Chicken fish and shrimp. After 2 weeks then added lettuce, cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise to make tostadas without tortilla. I lost 7 lbs the first week. 30 lbs in 3 months.
Yes, love the title! You for sure need to keep doing more of these! ☺️
I started getting gall stones. It was very painful. The doctor recommended I eat no fat including seed oils. Just vegetables and I should come in to consult another doctor about surgery. So I went online and pretty much exclusively started eating fat and protein and got rid of my gall stones. And now I have trust issues with doctors.
Doctors have almost NO training in nutrition in med school, so IMO you SHOULD have trust issues with doctors around diet. They’re married to the governments’ food pyramid model of eating when they think about it at all, unless they’ve done their own research. Some have. I recommend Dr. Baker here, and Dr. Ken Berry’s channel too.
Awesome Dr. Baker! If you can get more actors switching to carnivore they would have so much more energy to film movies, and clearer minds to memorize their lines. They may even be able to do their own stunts due to increased strength. People like Bruce Willis, needs help in what may be reversible - his sudden diagnosis of “frontotemporal dementia (FTD), a type of dementia.” Would be awesome if he did reverse on carnivore diet as he was a good actor. Sad to see that occurring to actors- diseases and cancers. They all need to switch to carnivore life style. You also hear about actors turning to alcohol and drugs due to stresses from being an actor- but on carnivore the mind is so clear you don’t stress as much at all. People can handle it in a calm fashion- so the drinking and drug mess would be thrown out!! Again, actors would do great on a carnivore diet. Maybe more will switch! ☺️👍🏻 Thanks again Dr. Baker!
I wonder if BW got the jabby, and the real one/s. I know fake ones were given to some.
Well said. ❤❤
Such a good point about having a clear head and the mental strength to cope with life’s challenges (ie learn lines) I had been putting off a task for weeks and weeks. I’m now 3 weeks in to carnivore and I sorted the task the other morning without a sweat. I’m not scared about the ‘what ifs’ anymore. I feel more centered.
My period is due in a few days and no PMS symptoms yet - which will be 2nd month in a row.
I’m also peri-menopause and the daily hot flushes that started every afternoon in January this year - NOT ONE in 3 weeks. How mad is that?
Plus I was sunbathing yesterday and realised ‘where are those floaty things under my eyelid’ I had them all my adult life - I thought they were normal!
There are some other things but I’ve forgotten them at this moment.
I will start making a list as I notice them - write them in a whiteboard so many partner can see them.
I ate a low fat, low salt, whole grain, high fruit n veggie diet for most of my life. Everyone complemented me on being 'healthy'. Decided to get even 'healthier' and went plant based for 2 years. Got past my mid 40s and everything started going wrong, extremely high blood pressure, constant IBS, arthritis, gout, gum disease, severe brain fog, hair loss, worsening sleep, pre-diabetes, weight gain and so on. Researched solutions for my 'incurable' gum disease and discovered Western A Price and everything fell into place. Ketovore for almost 4 years now and all health issues resolved, plus I'm lean and fit, I have a better body in my 50s than I did in my 20s...
I went vegetarian 10+ years ago thinking I was “helping end animal cruelty” when I was 21. I knew nothing about health or food. I did it for a month and just felt hungry and on edge the entire time. I went back to the SAD diet and was fine until I began having health issues into my late 20’s and early 30’s. I researched the carnivore diet a lot and bought books, cookbooks, etc. watched so many videos and testimonials that I finally told myself I need to do this, because if I don’t, I’ll regret it. I’ve slipped up and it’s been challenging but honestly it gets easier and so simple to where I enjoy it and don’t stress over what to cook. I feel so satiated after I eat that I’m not hungry for hours, and I have so many benefits: stable mood, no anxiety, no depression, skin cleared up, lost weight, actual better sleep without waking up multiple times throughout the night where I feel truly rested. I feel energized, I feel my libido going up, I feel the desire to do more with my life and it makes me so happy that it tears me up that it took me so long to find this. I hope everyone struggling with bad food can find the carnivore diet and see how truly healing it is in a myriad of ways.
I was unintentionally vegan in 2022 for about 2 years, from 2020 to 2022, not because I didn't like eating meat, it wasn't an ethical thing or an ED thing either, I just never could be bothered cooking, so I'd eat dirty vegan basically, raw vegan with junk food, lots of bread and pasta.
I was miserable, overweight, permanant brain fog, I had crippling migraines every other day. December 28th 2022 was when I changed to eating 80/20 ground beef and eggs cooked in butter every day, with some fruit cause I love fruit now (Never ate fruit before).
All of my GI problems resolved themselves within 3 weeks (Distended stomach, severe bloating, tooting 50 times a day, hyper-compacted stools that would make me bleed when passing and huge hemorrhoids), I lost weight pretty quickly, I went from 155 to 140 in about 2 months and have maintained 140 since Feburary, not moving a pound in either direction. My chronic bad breath is gone now, my partner now no longer recoils when I speak (super embarrassing, but no matter how much I brushed it was the same).
Within 3 days my migraines stopped alltogether, my brain fog lifted on the 6th day and I haven't had any episodes of brain fog or migraines since then (almost 6 months!!). my migraines would come on as a strange kaleidoscopic buzz in my outer-most vision, which would grow larger and more vibrant until it was covering up my entire peripheral vision, then it'd slowly fade off behind my peripheral, 2-8 minutes later I'd be struck with intense crippling pain in my head that would last for the rest of the day (if I'm lucky), often lasting for a few hours the next day.
Since changing what I eat, now focusing more on animal protein, eggs, butter and fruit, all of the ailments I was suffering with have vanished, I poop normally now, I feel fit, I can go on extended walks now without feeling exhausted, panting for breath like I used to. All in all, carnivore has saved me a life of suffering (minor suffering compared to most, but suffering nonetheless).
I was on the vegan diet and followed Michael Greger. I developed IBS and had a gout attack every single month. I was always tired and hungry and had diarrhea daily. I was popping antiacids like they were candy due to constant heartburn. Due to some friends, I ended up joining PD Mangan's program and learned how meat is the best food. I ditched Michael Greger and lost 70 pounds with PD Mangan. But I still had bowel problems. I bought The Carnivore Diet book a few weeks ago and following that has done wonders! All my issues have been improving and I am also cured from gout. Though modern so called medicine says to avoid meat with gout... but I digress.
Yeah; doctors; I’ve read comments from people who said they got gout as vegetarians. They hadn’t been eating meat at all.
I’m actually beginning to be a fan of veganism in a way , it seems to show so many people the way to carnivore 💪🏻🥩
Just 5 weeks in to meat only, doing ok so far. Thanks for the videos they have really helped me 😊
Vegetarian for 2 years, vegan for 1 year.
Ended up with severe cfs, anemia and hypothyroidism.
Exreeme anxiety, vertigo, fatigue ans overall just feeling like i was dying.
And i was eating whole food vegan diet, not processed.
After 4/2019 went keto and improved but still didn't feel the best.
Wen't carnivore 10/2019 and i reversed ALL my problems.
I lost 20kg and resolved all the anxiety, fatigue, cfs, anemia and hypothyroidism.
After that i have been experimenting with some fruit, dairy, even white rice.
But i feel the best when im carnivore doing 40% protein and 60% fat.
And thank you for you Sean!
Good for Bear, glad he feels better. I am 80+% carnivore at this point. Still do very select veg, nuts and grain (in small amouts) that work for me. It really comes down to figuring out what's best for you and what you feel best on.
25 years vegetarian with intermittent periods of veganism. What happened? Diagnosed with MS, developed central serous retinopathy, gastro-intestinal problems leading to multiple polyps, panic attacks, hypothyroidism, weight gain, increased susceptibility to colds, flus, bronchitis. Now, I could have developed some or all of these health problems anyway (though none run in my family), but my point is: vegetarianism/veganism DID NOT prevent them.
I was a vegan for 3 months. that says it all. I now eat more meat than a pride of lions.
When I was vegan for 2.5 yrs in hs/college it was the catalyst for my GERD/IBS/Crohn’s disease to emerge.
Since I’ve gone carnivore 7 weeks ago I haven’t experienced GI issues, lost 25+ lbs, and trimmed 3 inches of belly fat off my waist.
Tried it for 3 days after watching “Game changers” in 2020. At 6’ 1” 220lbs trying to fit the roughly 3,500 calories in just plant food was impossible. First and last time in my life I’d experienced something like this. My stomach was so stretched and full, yet my brain was SCREAMING at me to eat more because I still wasn’t satisfied. Now I eat a 1lb ribeye with 6 eggs and I’m not bloated yet satisfied for 6+ hours.
Same no hunger - I had 6 scrambled eggs at 11am then a steak at 1pm with 50g of butter and sitting here at 9:30pm I am still stuffed. Soooo wierd. I suddenly have soooo much time on my hands for the little things which used to get left.
I consume high omega 3 low mercury fish like wild salmon and sardines, eggs from free run hens, and quality red meat and poultry. It's so important to get the junk out of our diets: Seed and vegetable oil, soda pop, fried and baked goods.
Scrutinize anything that comes in a box, bag, tin, or jar.
Definitely, well stated!
Yep, whole food ex vegan here. Always hungry, kidney stones, growing my own vegies. Underweight, impossible to build muscle
Great title Shawn!

I’m amazed how people can be duped into a militant carnivore diet and shame other people who eat mainly meat when they enjoy some berries, vegetables or God forbid honey.

I've never felt so close to death in all my life when I tried my little vegan adventure! 😂 Remember.... Friends don't let friends go vegan! 🤨
The closest I came to vegan was two months of salads for lunch (as well as the usual vegetables for health lie). I knew you need a lot of leafy greens for the calories, so I had a huge bowl. I got less energy and I got so constipated that I had to throw up to relieve it.
I tried it for a month in my early 20's. I stopped because my hair started turning gray.
I was always a big salad walking, and per 30 years, not red meat, eventually chicken or salmon , always I fought with my weight and getting worse and worse even making a lot cycling , end of 2021 I got next day to eat Christmas cookies problems in the skin of my eyes , like a last drop advised because for many years I had pain all my body , hypothyroidism etc etc. Beggining 2022 , I look and begin to search in you tube and suddenly arrive keto diet , (Never heard about it ) and begin to do it , was incredibly, after 6 months I decided the carnivore , even much better, all my pain and hypothyroidism was gone !! Now, after 1 year of carnivore I lost 34 kilos and am feeling like a new young girl again , I am 52 years young.
When did humans start eating meat?
About 2 seconds after we realized meat was delicious.
Kudos to Grylls but he isn't carnivore. He follows more of a Saladino diet. He only mentions he doesn't eat vegetables anymore. Fruit and honey he still eats as Shawn stated. Meat for the win
I believe a little fruit and honey are not a problem as long as your diet is mostly meat and you are active enough to completely burn the carbs consumed. Most people are not that active though, so I don't think fruit and honey is a good idea for most people.
@@davepeterschmidt5818 Yes humans have eaten fruit seasonally and when available. But not 24x7 and not the type of modern fruit today.
We need to STOP with the way of eating titles though. Everyone has to tweak their diet to their specific needs, as we ALL are unique. I eat mainly "Ketovore", but sometimes different levels of Carnivore & sometimes just Keto or even low-carb.
I think there's nothing wrong with a little bit of honey and the odd piece of fruit as long as the vast majority of calories come from animal based sources.
@@ketoauntie7301 I agree. Grylls eats what works for him. But he is not carnivore just stating the obvious. You classified the many types of diets yourself

Thank you so much dr. Baker! Lt is Encouraging to hear about a vegan finding out about this way of eating before it's too late for him.
It is an assumption that we have evolved to eat meat! The real facts show that mutations are actually genetic copying mistakes and result in loss of much genetic information which accumulates in each generation. Therefore we are actually devolving and plant Foods are becoming more toxic while we become less able to tolerate them.
You should discuss that with Professor Bart Kay, "It is an assumption that we have evolved to eat meat!"
Because he has stated testing of bones or marrow, can't recall exactly, proves that thousands of years ago humans ate predominantly meat.
Yes I was vegetarian most my life then went WFPB Vegan because I had severe crippling Rheumatoid arthritis and painful bladder syndrome Interstitial Cystitis and bought a program called the Paddison program for Rheumatoid arthritis because he claimed it had cured his RA. Ended up completely bed bound and needed a wheelchair and was eventually put on biologic immunosuppresive meds. Tried keto for a bit but ate too many sweetened treats with coconut oil and cream cheese so gave that up, then found WFPB McDougall diet decided to try that for a year and completely organic. OMG so many additional symptoms developed! Vertigo, super low blood pressure had me hospitalised at one point, depression, anxiety, TMJ pain, itchy red raised moles on my chest that would pop up overnight, headaches, night sweats that smelled sooo bad! And the Interstitial Cystitis became so painful it was completely debilitating! I was up sometimes every 15 minutes all night to pee! Then my skin started itching all over. My doc tested me for lymphoma, CT scans, ultrasounds and blood tests revealed nothing so he suggested I try carnivore diet. Wow! I now completely free of ALL my ailments and symptoms and off the biologic meds and totally pain free! I was actually only giving it a go to prove my doctor wrong, but now I'm totally convinced this is the food my body needs!
I went pure carnivore April 1st, 2023, so I haven't quite finished my second month.
I never went vegetarian, let alone vegan, and I always preferred meat, but until I discovered the carnivore way of eating, all the information I was giving is that I had to eat fruits and vegetables, at least along with the meat.
My biggest problem is that I am allergic to fruit in the sense that every whole fruit, and I think some leafy or green vegetables, cause me to painfully cramp up.
The cramps seem to be gone.

True that.
Never went the vegan route. Did try vegetarianism at one point. That lasted about 3 hours, until I was starving again. Always felt healthier eating meat. Almost full carnivore now. They stopped asking me at work whether I wanted to order something for lunch. Lol. The more I learn, the more convinced I am that carnivore is the way to go.

I was 300 lbs with Rheumatoid Arthritis, 1AC of 6.8 and feeling like CRAP. During COVID shutdown I went from 230 to 300 in 2 yrs on the "standard American diet". Today I`m down 30lbs my 1AC is 5.2 and the RA is much better, walking 2-3 miles and using a rowing machine for 10-15 minutes daily, I`m 62 yrs old and 5 years post heart transplant with a goal of 220 lbs.I found what Dr. Baker, Dr. Ken Berry and others said ,did my own research and went for it. THANKS FOR SPEACKING THE TRUTH!
I stopped eating meat late 80s. Despite having a physical job starting to get fat. I had terrible acid reflux and thought "maybe too much cheese, maybe too much tea! maybe need to stop eating onions... anything apart from what I now know to be the cause. I managed 15 years like that. I'm now low carb, low occasional seasonal veg, loads of meat and fat. The trigger for me was my 1st blood test, 58 years old, high triglycerides. 2 years later my blood results are good and just as important, no acid reflux!
As soon as someone gos 3.5 million years ago i tune out! A few thousand years is as far back as we can go
If you look at how vegans act, you'll know all you need to stay free of that diet!
I went plant based it was a nightmare never felt so awful in my life
I’m on carnivore day 38 it’s the best decision I’ve made regarding myself in my lifetime
I did a high fruit mostly vegetarian diet for a while before going carnivore. It was a huge mistake. My health went downhill fast.
Seems all these carnivores used to be vegan. Circumstances change, but mindset is still there
I don't crave junk either! It took 40 years of food addiction and finally a few weeks into meaty eating those things have stopped appealing. Even for comfort, entertainment, or hungry times I seek out more nutritious things
As a kid, if I had to be driven anywhere, especially in the mornings, I nearly always felt carsick. The breakfast ingredients on offer were mainly homemade eggnogs made of milk, extra sugar, and something like Nestle’s Quik (the old school version). The single egg was always raw and the concoction always showed a plethora of raw egg chunks floating at the top of the glass. To this day, I cringe at seeing phlegm because of the similarity to “egg snot”. The adults around me ate fried eggs and a small burgerlike beef patty (from a box of frozen patties). I wasn’t allowed to have what they had and never knew why. School lunches were awful in my opinion back in grades 1 - 3, so a sandwich and a box of raisins were the usual. Supper, regardless of what it was, always and at all ages seemed rather heavy on starches and vegetables while remaining scant on meat. It seemed like potatoes, for instance, were meant as filler so no one would eat the amount of meat that they really wanted (or that I wanted even if they didn’t). Meat required no special flavoring… nothing beyond a little salt in my opinion… and once off to college, became my go-to reward for doing well on exams. Consuming a couple of pounds of beef at that age was easy and most satisfying! Unfortunately I was, by this time, a hard-core chocoholic.
It’s been over three years since I went keto/ketovore with brief excursions into carnivore. In an attempt to lose weight, I began in February 2020, following a strict keto regimen, yet not losing so much as a pound until I was four months in. By removing additional foods upon the discovery of new info (e.g. finding out that there is natural sugar in tomatoes) and maintaining my strict avoidance of everything processed (I have always loved to cook and hated boxed (fake) ingredients), I managed to go from 240lbs on a 5’5 frame to 189lbs in two years. Dissatisfied with the s-l-o-w progress, I decided to try strict carnivore. Beef, eggs, chicken, pork, turkey, and fish comprised my diet along with water. There was not only zero weight loss, but I regained all but twenty pounds that had taken so much time to lose.
Infuriated at this turn of events given that I literally ate nothing but the meat and drank nothing but water, I opted to increase the intermittent fasting such that I only had four meals per week. After eight weeks of this, I still hadn’t lost any weight. I have returned to regular keto and have put on an additional five pounds, making a net loss of only fifteen pounds.
I have never cheated, not even for a single meal. I find that I still crave chocolate but I refuse to give in to my cravings. I still get up with a full bladder every hour or so during the night. There are leg cramps that make it impossible to enjoy a proper stretch in bed, headaches that can last for days, and I simply haven’t seen any of the benefits that “everyone else” reports when they’ve followed keto/ketovore/carnivore.
From what I can tell, there’s nothing left to try, short of long-term (a minimum of a week at a time) fasting. I certainly have the willpower to do it but that’s not the point. I’ll never go back to carbs but have resigned myself to remaining fat.
Did vegan and the pescatarian for a year. I did see some benefits, but more negatives overall. Two years animal based and doing way better mentally and physically. I eat about exactly what Bear referenced he’s doing now.
Im mainly plant based and now I’m trying carnivore now been working out good far as craving less. I haven’t bought meat in almost 5yrs and now doing it just concerned about the companies that producing the meat. I haven’t been sick in 7yrs and hopefully it continues like that. Fruits just slows down the aging process and makes my skin glow but still was craving and had 20-30 dreams a night. I believe raw food ands carnivore will make you look good regardless. The pesticides you have to be mindful of.
tried fully raw with my health conscious parents back in 2008 or so. each one of us tho complained of lack of vibrancy, and all continued to explore new options in that space. various types of kale were the worst offenders. salad, smoothies gave seemingly better results .. but. not in comparison to having a little animal-based. in the mix.
eggs. +/- carefully selected dairy can be so beneficial. shame that most options out there are so heavily modified. ‘ modified milk ingredients, modified palm oils, etc. ‘ .. major gastrointestinal issues due to those. wonder what my ancestors would have thought. reading a 2023 nutrition fact sheet .. back in 1953. the year my father graduated from preventative dental surgery school.
the best we could do was 80/20. each of us had to have a non raw component (back then) to at least feel satiety. a giant plate of raw veggies was my goto for awhile. cripes. still not satiated. my hands turned orange I was eating so many dann carrots. that took three large a day for weeks.
but. my folks. they were raised on meat + potatoes. meat ‘n potato’s. was always the phrase they uttered. figuring it was the meat. nope.
ponder that.
the heat. somehow changes. the vegetable. from totally harmful. to. less harmful.
you cannot eat raw potatoes.
but. u can eat meat. raw. or. cooked.
potatoes. no. only cooked.
cabbage. raw. gives bad results.
needs oil + vinegar in some amount to transform it.
answer me that. ohh wise vegans.
.
.
... the rare vegan tho can seemingly make it work with raw juicing ... as that subdivides some of the fibre out.
so. no matter your diet myths of choice. keep exploring. your microbes are talking to ya.
looking back on it all. so many in the raw space gave up in short order. another fad.
those that embrace it, all realized that it was what they eliminated (vs what they consumed) .. was where the benefits lay.
I continue to look at processed vegan options as they come out. and .. not a single thing would make it into my basket these days.
I feel bad for the planet, misguided vegan companies making foods that are even worse for themselves and the world around them.
but they figure they are the saviours.
very few vegetarians live past 100 .. and most plant heavy clients develop all kinds of conditions when doubling down on their flawed health myth concepts.
keeps the pharma companies afloat and in the cycle of life (for the westerners).
1939 books tho showed cultures that were processed food free. had nearly perfect teeth. add any processed stuff to their culture. they developed the same issues we all want to avoid.
