    I made my first set of your conditioner bars around Nov 17 23 and have been using it since! I have long curly hair and am in love! It took me a while to get used to a solid bar, but its getting easier! Just have to remember to keep it wet while running it through my hair and that works best for me. But i have to tell you this! I notice a HUGE difference in the amount of hair loss during conditioning and combing!! I would have to clean my shower drain out several times a week and now, its been weeks!! (That has NEVER happened before!) And my wide tooth comb that i use would be FULL of hair in a few days so much so that i would have to cut the hair off with scissors (gross i know!) But its amazing the difference!! This is awesome!! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!! Ive been sharing the conditioner bars with my friends and family!! And they love it! I tell everyone you are my fav soap TH-camr and you are like the "Martha Stewart" of soaping (but meant in the highest of respect... not the jail stuff!)
    Thanks again!

      I added a few drops of rosemary EO to my shampoo and conditioner bars and it helps thicken hair and stop it from falling out, too. I use Ellen's recipes on both for my hair.

    I am relatively new to soap making, and find the whole process fascinating. I am also very please with the atmosphere of the soaping community as a group. the willingness of you, and so many other soap makers to share your skills, and to give credit to others is heartwarming.

    I was converted to shampoo and conditioner bars about 2 years ago and can't imagine going back to commercial products. My hair is so much happier! I actually only condition about every 2-3 shampoos as the bar conditioner is that effective. I've been considering trying to make my own and now I just might give it a try. Thanks for sharing!

      What brand do you normally use? They are so expensive that I don't want to do trial and error and waste my money to research. I would rather buy one that works.
      I am also allergic to regular soap so I am not sure if that wouldn't make me itchy as well🤔🤕

    I have the same scale as you do & if you weigh something in ounces and need grams etc., you can click the "mode" button to change to grams and it will convert it for you. Just thought Id mention that. It was a huge help for me. *S*

    These are just gorgeous bars! I love shampoo and conditioner bars. They last sooo much longer than bottled shampoos & conditioners. I use BTMS-50 in my deep conditioning bars and BTMS-25 IN my light to regular shampoo & conditioner bars. I love all kinds of butters in my bars, eslecially Murumuru Butter. It does make a slightly darker bar, but it is an excellent butter for hair. Also a bit of Cupuacu Butter is nice.

    Very interesting to watch. The only thing I dont like about those round ones is that they are so slippery when they're wet that they're hard to hang on to and i keep dropping the bar in the shower and hard to keep ahold of. But I've used the conditioner bars my sister makes and they do work good and help after using the shampoo bar. As when i use the shampoo var it makes my hair feel like dull and weird, so i need the conditioner bars to make my hair softer and more manageable. I want to get some again one of these days. Thanks for the good video. 😊

    I just washed my hair and had to tell you, I am still loving this conditioner bar. I have been making it for about a year now. I also make Aloe Shampoo Bar from Bramble Berry, formulated for hair, no lye. Using your conditioner bar with the Aloe Shampoo Bar works great on my thick, curly, colored hair. The shampoo bar lathers so well and takes very little effort to get a great lather. Your conditioner bar and the shampoo bar I make last forever. Thanks so much for this recipe.❤❤❤

      Thank u in advance.

    • @cliviascreations
      @cliviascreations 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@monikaykataria3838 for hair care you will use 1-8 % of your recipe. If the recipe calls for 2 gr of BTMS 25 and you are using BTMS 50, then you will use only 1 gr. I hope this makes sense, thank you

    • @GenesisCespedes
      @GenesisCespedes 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, I’m about to make this recipe but also wanted to use BTMS 50 so instead of 13oz I would be using 6.5?

    • @cliviascreations
      @cliviascreations 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@GenesisCespedes basically the number stands for the moisturizer concentration, so 50 has double amount compared to the 25. If the recipe calls for 25 and you have the 50, use half and viceversa, if the recipe calls for 50 and you just have the BTMS 25 , use double. In my experience it’s not exactly all the times so make small batch and test it to see how do you like it. I prefer the 50 because of our hair texture. Thank you

      Because this bar is made to be used on wet hair and in a shower type enviroment, the preservative is a good precaution against bacteria build up.

    thank you for the packaging idea, but I would like to ask, why do you use stearic acid and btms together? stearic acid is an anionic and negatively charged emulsifier, and btms is a cationic and positively charged emulsifier. they are not compatible together. you should use only non-ionic emuls. with cationic together. for example cetearyl alc, or maybe more cetyl alc instead of stearic acid, what is the reason that you use all these together....?

      Those are all good points, I like this formula because of the conditioning properites of the ingredients.

      I googled it and they said to use twice the amount called for, then reduce the water by 2%. But, there’s no water in this recipe. Any ideas on what I could reduce by 2%, do you have any advice in that? It’s no big deal ‘cause I have some of the powder on order, but it won’t be here for another week or so. Thx, Ellen Ruth!

    So I made these conditioner bars. And I like that them for the leaving. But I feel like you have to work it into your hair and excessive amount. Is there anyway to add more yield to these bars? I’m not sure if that makes any sense. But I don’t get enough on my hands with warm water. I almost feel like, there needs to be less emulsifying wax. And I feel like I need to the butters/oils in this a little bit.

    • @EllenRuthSoap

      These do have a pretty hard finish. I'll have to work on a bit softer formula for a future video.

    Looking forward to trying this recipe! Do you know if these would set and harden ok if poured into a 2" pvc pipe then cutting, or do you recommend using molds? I use the PVC pipe method for all of my shampoo bars - saves so much time and effort!

    Thank you so much for sharing! What a skilled soap artist you are! What double boiler do you use? Also, is there a certain temperature your soap mixture has to reach? Or as soon as it's melted you know it's ready? I want to try this out but am scared I will ruin the batch by boiling it for too long. I appreciate any help you can offer me and will definitely be a long-term watcher!

    • @EllenRuthSoap
      @EllenRuthSoap  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For a double boiler, I just use a larger pot with water simmering, then set my container it that to melt. I don't take temps on this just get it well and melted.

      They are different formulas, so here's an example of how you could switch them out: If a formulation calls for 4% BTMS-25 you could try 2% BTMS-50 and 2% cetearyl alcohol as an alternative.
